Hello all - I know a number of you use the "Shop-It" Timer and Stealth Notes app (Thank you!), and I wanted to let you know about the new update for iPhone (Android update is in the works**). This update has some features that have long been on our users' wish lists, and we're really excited to finally have it live! Thank you to all of you who have offered feedback and suggestions both on this forum and through emails.

Here's what's new:
- Toggle between 24 hour time and 12 hour (am/pm) time (timings still recorded to-the-second, of course); this was probably our most requested feature
- New, easier to navigate user interface
- Voice Memos - can now be saved to Dropbox, emailed (if small enough), messaged, etc. from your phone
- Customize the 'panic button' stealth feature... So you can flip to the simulated game screen, or set your own image
- iTunes File sharing - Now you can backup all your shop notes simply by plugging your phone into your computer, and syncing with iTunes.
- fully updated and compatible with the latest iOs operating system.

As many of you know, I'm not a big company... just an individual who had an idea which turned into my pet project. This was an elaborate (and expensive!) update. It would mean a great deal if those of you who like the app would leave a positive review in the App Store as we move into this new phase. That's the only 'marketing' tool we have available - and every time we update, Apple sets our stars to zero again until we get 5 reviews (and it takes roughly a year we've found to get those 5 reviews... by which time we are updating again). This is a non-issue for apps with big markets, but ours is a very Niche market. So anyway, it would be HUGE if you would review the app (or update your review if you have left one previously). Of course, as always, if you have any issues please let us know and we'll do everything we can to resolve. If there are ever any bugs (rare, fortunately) we depend on user feedback to let us know.

** Android - this version does not have all the features that the iOs version has currently, but we are in the process of updating and improving it. Therefore, we've dropped the $ significantly for now until the update is done (not sure of the time frame on that... it's also a big time-consuming one). It's still a very functional app - and will be getting even better. Users who download it now, of course will get the new features when they become available as an update.

Thanks for the updates - I like the enhancements. Since the updates (about 5 days ago now?), the app has been working fine. However this morning, the app on my iPhone is continuing trying to update. The icon is blackened out and says "Waiting..." It doesn't work at all. I tried going through "Updates" and it does not even open there. I also tried turning the phone off and on. It's the only app that's affected. Has anyone else experienced issues? Any advice to fix it? Luckily I don't have shops today. But I will need it tomorrow!

OK - let's get to the bottom of this! There's really nothing within an app's code that should be able to bog down an update (all apps are formatted and distributed through Apple - the update process is very automatic). Yes, if anyone else is experiencing this do let me know and we'll turn in a trouble report to Apple!!

Try these things:
1) Have you re-booted your phone (a hard re-boot completely off)? If there no data within the app that is vital for you to save, then you can also uninstall the app completely (press and hold, then hit the x). Then go back to the App Store and download it again. (do NOT do this if you have important data within the app unless you've saved backups to Dropbox or elsewhere).
2) The only other thing that has ever caused me personally to have problems updating apps (not Shop-it, but a number of apps - happened to me after the version 9 update from Apple... I had several hang up) is if the phone is low on physical memory. You might go in and delete some photos or video to free up some space. The version 10 iOs update from Apple uses more memory, plus most apps increased a bit in size with the adaptations for 10 plus any enhancements, so it's possible that those things cumulatively pushed the memory over the edge.

** Also, We might can figure out a way to get you a temporary 'test' version on your phone to get you through tomorrow's shops if the above solutions don't help.... Let me know!

Thank you for your prompt response and thoughtful solutions. I tried all your suggestions and it still doesn't work.

I did a reboot yesterday and it didn't work. And I tried to reboot again this morning after removing some pictures (and deleting them from the deleted file). All of my notes are stored on the app (without backup) so I am reluctant to delete the app and reinstall. When I go through the "updates" tab, it shows that the app was completely updated yesterday and has the "open" button. But when I push it, nothing happens.

While I am close to full storage capacity, I still have 200+ MB of free space available. I saw that the app is 7.5 MB and the associated file is 50+ MB. So I would think it has room to do what it needs to update. But let me know if you think otherwise.

Any other suggestions?

I've been researching, and hung apps on update are an occasional iPhone issue it seems (not app specific... we just were the 'lucky one' this time, I guess). A common contributor was losing internet/data connections at some point during an update, and the phone hanging up the install and that may or may not have anything to do with your situation (it obviously shouldn't happen).

Anyway, I haven't yet seen a solution to that other than re-installing Shop-It, but for the immediate issue of today's shops I'm going to PM you a code to install an alternate version of the app. How long until you are needing to use it for shops?

** BTW if you've backed up your phone within the last week or so by plugging in to your computer and letting iTunes sync, your data will be secure on your computer, so deleting and re-installing the app will not be a problem. This is a new iOs 10 feature. You can access your 'Saved Notes' from your iTunes->Apps->File Sharing->Shop It on your computer.

I've had the app for a little over a year now, I use it for every shop I perform! It'super easy to use and been a great tool!
