Where Are You Shopping Today?

The 5k fancy handbag store, the not as fancy acai bowl shop, and the not fancy at all Pollo Comparo. And, normal work day!

Bank account opening shop with a very nice bonus. Thanks to all who avoid these for fear of lowering their credit scores!!! I do many and my score has gone down all of 2 points in 2 years.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
My concern is not with my credit score, it's with my Chex System report and the possible triggering of any FinCen disclosures. I like my day job and avoiding any hassles from public officials - more than I do relatively small financial payments for bank account shopping. Lots already written about it. In a nutshell, I avoid any banking activity that would flag me as an atypical bank consumer. I think frequently opening and or closing many accounts is atypical. Others may disagree. That's cool - we each have our own reasons.

What PUBLIC officials would hassle an atypical bank customer, I would like to know?

I have two more doctors office to do . Before I go back to one I could to all of the rooms in.
I cancelled a fine dining shop. Too much alcohol required. Would take a big chunk of the reimbursement and last time I went over and had to spend my own money. I don't like that.

Lots of stories online if you search....key words : USPS, Police, FinCen, lifetime ban at Bank X, FBI, Money Orders, Structuring, Walmart financial transaction, bank teller suspicious, SAR, checks, cash, multiple accounts, deposits, withdrawals, ATM,etc. You don't have to actually be doing anything illegal, this activity falls into the area of appearing to be unusual and therefore, subject to reporting and investigation.

Way too detailed and very likely off topic here. Some previous threads are informative, I believe one poster worked in this area professionally.

PS - of all the factors that go into a credit score, I have never heard number of bank accounts, only credit cards.
Hi wales,

Why would your credit score be affected by opening a deposit account? If it was a deposit account.

Today was Roti for lunch. Yesterday and tomorrow are a sandwich shop for dinner.

Honny,
I did not say that I believed that; I was thanking all those who skip these nice fees because they believe it.

ETA Mine went down slightly because I closed several accounts. Therefore, my "usage" of the remaining accounts is up somewhat. However, I pay off ALL cc debt, in full, every month.

Believe it or not, I don't drink. When I have to purchase a drink, I don't consume it. Usually, the requirement is 1 drink, I can handle that. Not 3 or 4 drinks.

Don't they ask the quality of the drink? I know the shops near me that require a drink (Chili's. Steak houses) require you to report on the drink. Surprised they have you order it without caring about if it was prepared properly, and tastes good.

Orlando - lightly shopping NC

*Most* shops of this type are more interested in cash handling and inventory control. Especially one that requires 3 or 4 drinks. A rum and coke is going to taste exactly like a rum and coke if it has Coke and a correct pour count of rum.

Doing a big box and a phone job that paid fairly, since I'll be home all afternoon cleaning closet, easy to make time for a call. My bar audit says two different drinks, however I have one and a sip of another, they don't ask about the actual drink,do tell you what you can order and care about timing and the receipt, and where they put the tip, and I always go at happy hour, my bar happy hour starts at three, so no crowds 5$ for drink which is easily covered, easy peasy, down to a science, and love love the appetizer's. Don't ask, not telling!

I am doing my first video new car shop today - a 2019 Infiniti QX50.... Then, I have another new home video shop..... There is a small chance that I'll pick up an apartment later, but the leasing office hasn't answered the phone in three days, so.......

Two cell phone shops on a bonus and a pretzel place for the husband, then we are going out to dinner later.

Shop should pay at least 1.5x the listed fee.

Question: So I better understand the meaning of your statement.... Do you mean that they MSC is simply not paying enough or that negotiation to $110-$115 is possible?

And this is exactly why I read this forum.... smiling smiley

I am glad I read the forum, found out BJ's jobs are out, picked one up (phone in dinner in house). Assigned immediately, love that company. Work when I get back from trip, trying to schedule for Sept, not working much until I go. Never knew Video was accepted in CA, but MFJ says yes, so.....learned something new.

I'm saying that company used to pay $100 for video new car shops and another company pays $125.

Alas..... well, if some are still around next time I go in a route, I just might test the numbers a bit more. Still, I got my expected hourly earnings this time, so I can’t complain too much.
