@JASFLALMT it's kinda like the German pork version of Italian chicken cutlets. It's heavily pounded pork, breaded and generally pan fried. It's usually served with potatoes or spaetzle, another magnificent German food. It is magical when prepared correctly.

Oh okay, so I have been cooking pork tenderloin that way for awhile. I thought I was cooking Iowa food, LOL. They have fried pork tenderloin sandwiches at the Iowa fair (so I had heard), so I started experimenting and it turned out so good!!! Little did I know I was making schnitzel sandwiches!!!! And yeah, we made homemade potato chips with it smiling smiley
Dagnabit, I am going to buy an air fryer. Everytime we fry anything, even pan fry, it creates such a mess! Are those things easy to clean?
Yes, super easy to clean. Some have a basket and some, like mine, have a vented tray at the bottom that pulls out. As long as you clean it quickly or soak it right away, it's good. The only problem I've had was with cheese that exploded out of a popper and I just let it soak a bit and good to go right after.

I have an Emeril one that I bought from QVC, but they are all very similar. If mine broke, I'd go out tomorow and buy the one that is also a dehydrator, rotiserie, etc. There is one made by the original, Power Fryer, but I've seen a few knock offs on Amazon lately.

I've got some BBB gift cards and coupons, wondering what they might have that I would like. I think I will take a look online, chances are I can shop from home...that or Kohl's. Our stores are smaller here but online there should be a good selection.
Today was two storage shops and Sonic. Sonic was an epic fail on every level. The speaker was busted, so drive thru customers had to place orders at the pick up window. On top of that, they were training new employees. It took 20 minutes to get my order.

I wonder if I can cook bacon on top of the fried green tomatoes in the air fryer. I can picture the taste...so good!

Speaking of unwritten rules, everyone should try a peanut butter and bacon sandwich at least once.

So that sparks an idea. Why are there no liver an onion shops? The last place I knew of that served liver and onions closed some time ago. For reasons unrelated to liver and onions. But still. I would shop for that. Especially if the reimbursement covered the bacon...

What's wrong with sidetracking to food and recipes?

I have some marble sized green tomatoes on my plants. When they get big enough, I'm going to make fried green tomatoes in the air fryer. That will be my first dish. The meat will be a pork schnitzel from Aldi. It's already breaded.

I think that would eliminate the need for added oil, LOL. But it might make a difference in the crust! You would have to partially cook the bacon first and maybe add it after the tomatoes were cooked...

That was me that didn't want to eat the peanut butter and bacon together!
I only cook bacon in the microwave. Super crispy and less fat.

That makes my microwave smelly and greasy, so I don't like to do that. I cook it in a large electric skillet. I can cook a pound at a time and then keep the rest of it in a ziplock in my frig for whenever I want it.
I bake my bacon in the oven. All the aroma and none of the grease splatter. I bake it on a rack and save the drippings.

If you use a microwave bacon cooker you won't have those issues. It has a little tray for the grease to run into and a cover so no splatter. Was like $8 on the amazon dot coms.

Ice Cream in the microwave? Is this reverse world??

I have an ice cream maker. I haven't used it in awhile, perhaps I will when my brothers come visit in a few weeks!
On that subject, my oldest brother LOVES ice cream. I mean LOVES. Like it's his absolute favorite thing in the world. The best ice cream in the world comes from Jeni's Splendid Creams. Several years ago he found her ice cream cookbook and bought it for me. I was like oh that's super cool thanks. He was like I was being selfish I just want you to make her ice cream for me, lol.

bgriff, what was your best ice cream creation?

One year, I gave my very fashionable brother an item I stole from him for Christmas. He appreciated it.

My favorites were Peanut Butter and Peppermint. Peppermint ice cream in general might be my favorite flavor, this one was pretty good. The Peanut Butter was surprisingly fantastic but for some reason it took FOREVER to freeze. I think I had to run it twice as long as normal.

I'm not even gonna dignify that remark with a response.

I don't cook bacon in the house except for turkey bacon, which doesn't give off the same smell. The smell just gets to me after about 5 minutes and at that point I don't even want it. It makes me sad because I love it, but I just can't do it.

Also, today I'm shopping 3 retail stores at the Tropicana in Atlantic City, so a few bucks will either be donated or given back to me at the roullette machine. I also have a dining shop at Resorts so maybe a few bucks there, as well.

It seems everyone hates cooking bacon and loves to eat it. The person who comes up with a countertop non-messy bacon cooker will be a trajillionaire.

I'm doing a BP, a Shell, and an apartment shop today. When I see it in print like that it's clear that I'm a masochist.
LOL! My world is the opposite. I have one merch which is conveniently located near three errands.

So... umm... has anyone tried bacon in the instapot? Or, has anyone built the prototype for the clean bacon cooker?

It isn't messy in my electric frying pan. Like I said, I can cook a whole pound. I cover it with a lid so it isn't messy, and after it cools, I can easily scrape the solid grease into the trash. I would imagine an air fryer could do it since it sounds like it can cook anything. I like the way bacon smells, it reminds me of weekend mornings with my dad when he would make bacon and pancakes. I would wake up to the smell of bacon and now I find it comforting.

Going south today to finish up some store visits (QC product retrievals).

What a lovely memory to have, JAS!
I am using an overnight hotel shop new an airport to "anchor" the following:
Before check-in but after 4 PM: park in parking area A, ride shuttle to car rental area; ride next shuttle back, call for garage maintenance to check out a "low" tire; check into hotel
Write reports on shuttle service ($19) and 2nd shift parking shop ($30 + parking fee)
Spend relaxing night at hotel, with no evening interactions. Taking an in-room picnic and wine.
Tomorrow AM: hotel bkfst, 2 interactions plus check-out.
Drive to airport lot B; take shuttle to terminal. Catch shuttle to car rental area; catch next shuttle back to terminal. Return to Parking area B; call for help stating that I cannot find my vehicle. $25 plus $19, plus parking reimbursement. I will be home by noon tomorrow.

Every one of the reports for the above shops is quick and easy. And all have extended deadlines, so I can have quite a relaxing weekend.
Also gained: a ton of hotel rewards points and the everlasting gratitude of 2 schedulers whose OTHER assignments I truly covet. (Think EOQ bonuses ahead!!)

Since most of DC's main streets are nearly shut down for some big event this weekend, I am not missing out on any shops that I would ordinarily do on the weekend there.
