Where Are You Shopping Today?

90 degrees and 100% humidity today and a hail/thunderstorm right now. I'm glad I didn't have anything scheduled today, I haven't left the house all day.

I can confidently say that every state, DC, and some US territories have USPS shops. I have completed them in 7 states so far. Pubx, GW, and Panda Exp (whatever they are) shops are limited to whatever states they have locations in. None of them those stores are located near me.

Hello...Would someone mind telling me which States and MSC have GW, Pubx, Panda Exp and USPS shop assignments?

Finished my last June shop yesterday. Starting July off with a big bang July 1-3 and 5-7. Congress will not be in session and, except for the 4th, driving into the city center will be a piece of cake. So, I am planning to cram 90% of my DC shops into that week. The balance of the month I will do MD shops, unless a scheduler temps me with BIG money to drive into the city.

Five Guys tonight, and three of those annoying BestMark phone shops tomorrow.

I am shopping two stores, one grocery one retail. My planned purchases will be covered by reimbursement and further augmented with IBOTTA, for a nice little bonus. it's really too hot to shop so this is the bare minimum. I applied for bunches of phone shops but haven't gotten them. I don't want to go outside. *stomps foot*
I'm right there with you! There are a lot of gas station shops nearby but it is just too muggy to be out doing them. If I could wear shorts and sandals I'd be more inclined!

ETA - I just found a super easy job that reimburses for a pretty large order of Poopourri. LOL! My co-workers will reap the benefits of my shopping. winking smiley

Today was WaWa and a vape shop at a liquor store. I found a wine that I *really* liked at the liquor store. I was so excited, I forgot to take the exterior picture.

I was so excited to see different ordering options at the WaWa shops. Even though it's hoagie month (lol) I got a club with avocado and it was at reimbursement. Woohoo.

Tomorrow is a route of BJ's Wholesale, WaWa, Wal-Mart and 4 cell phone shops.

My route went well except for the last two cell shops. They were app shops and the app failed. Mobile check in was required. The first failed shop opened with check out, though I never checked in. The last shop checked me in, but there was no option to check out.

I added another WaWa shop. It was on my way home.

That is annoying, Honny! Still loving the WaWa shops. If I drove, I would happily drive up and down the coast shopping them and donating the extra food.

Today was a complete and utter #$%^ show at a restaurant. I don't know how much we can share, but, the server didn't acknowledge us, we waited for over 20 minutes to get greeted (2 minute standard), they messed up my order, server fixed it by literally dumping the missing ingredients on my plate from a paper dish. I had last seen a dish like this used for cat food at a shelter (this was a fancy restaurant). The server did this from behind and said "watch out." Then, she quickly dropped the check while still in motion and ran away. The hostesses were too busy talking to each other to say anything when we left. It was comical. Out of all the tables to do this to, they do it to the secret shoppers.
How do you donate hoagies? Who would take them?

I had a WaWa that had to be completed by 7am. I take advantage of my insomnia to do these shops. I almost overslept.

The rest of today is a vape shop, a wholesale membership renewal and a lunch WaWa.

I handed my Panda Express drive-through order to a homeless man not too long ago. I'm sure he would be happy to take a WaWa sandwich too.

@HonnyBrown The thrift shop that I have as a part time gig has a neat little place next door ran by the same church as us that serves homeless and the needy breakfast and lunch and gives out essentials. There are a lot of local businesses that will give them what is close to expiration, like WaWa and the coolest little cafe and sometimes even Starbucks. I have given them stuff that I got in a shop and know it won't make it home and they just serve it up like pot luck. It's really a great system. I would think any kind of "soup kitchen" where they are feeding instead of giving out dry goods/pantry items would greatly appreciate that, even if it goes to the staff for lunch.

@niner That stinks! Even when it's being reimbursed, going out to eat, especially at a fine dining place, should be an enjoyable experience.

Just returned from a very casual Italian joint and couldn't eat the main meal which I ordered with lemon and olive oil. the "zoodles (pasta) was literally swimming in olive oil, like a soup, no seasoning, so bland, no garlic or any seasoning. Wrote my negative report saying (as asked), I would not recommend this place nor return..question being, will I ever work for them again? Should have had a bowl of cereal at home....oh my....

I hope the report helps them. It was so ridiculous that the entire thing was like a joke. If we had gone there and spent our own money, I would feel differently about the experience.
Okay. The food bank where I volunteer is part of a network. They only take packaged items. Someone donated fresh deer meat, but I don't know what happened to it.

You guys never cease to amaze me.

Every day, multiple shops....

I did my first day with 6 shops (and I've been shopping for a long time)...and it was hard to keep track of it all. I was literally falling asleep doing reports in the wee hours
Jill,
Before any MS day that will be challenging, I ask my schedulers to extend the deadline to 24 hours, explaining that I am working a long MS route that day. They do not need to know what feels like a long day to YOU.

Today is a bonused grocery shop, and I added a Sonic and a Circle K to bring my total up.
It is the rare shop like this that reminds me why I am getting paid to eat at fine dining restaurants, to talk to investment bankers who execute perfectly, to buy hoagies from Wawa, etc. Then there is that rare one ...

We had another dining shop yesterday. The mess ups were pretty big also, but we did not care because the staff were so pleasant. They forgot about the appetizer and brought it 40 minutes after we ordered. They messed up my entree, but fixed it. They messed up the dessert. A simple dining shop at a casual restaurant took over two hours. But, they were all so nice. The waiter was new, it was his fourth day. He tried hard. The manager was incredibly nice. Did I mention we were two of six people in the entire place?!? After, the bartender was equally as friendly. I would go back there. The MSC paid for dinner (not a ton), with no additional payment, and wanted a Coyle report. We are at a music festival, so it wasn't a big deal writing it up.

Anyway-
Excellent service, mess ups, okay food= Win
Terrible service, better than average food= Miss
Today (At a festival this week)
Cell phone inside Walmart (2 locations)

Tomorrow
Assisted living
Pharmacy at supermarket
Texas Roadhouse
Motorcycle shop (for a target model that I own!)

Saturday
Hoss's

Sunday (Going home)
Arooga's takeout
Wings Over take out

Our food will be taken care of every day while we are away except for today and if all goes as planned,
$157 in fees, $185 in reimbursements. My husband thinks I am out of my mind. This has been the best "job" I have ever had. (I don't think I make enough to call this an actual job though)
Today turned out to be 2 gas stations and 5Guys. When I went to BJ's, the hostess put me in the bar at a table. I forgot that that was allowed if the dining room was not available. Not wanting to be out of pocket, I left.
