Maybe the stop posting under the recognized, familiar name and come back with a new name? I would think that if I got upset with the forum, I would just leave. Why open myself up to more of the unpleasantness I consider coming my way.

As mentioned earlier, they are a cry for attention (in my opinion). If I left, I would not start a thread. I have been here a lot longer than OP. I am not that important that I need a thread to announce my departure.
It's the internet for Pete's sake. Did I cry when Sybil2 flipped her "s" on me? Nope. I could not care less what she types. (Just an example of course.) I come here to get helpful information and to give it. A few people here, I know in real life. Others I will surely meet. Any issues with them can happen off the board.
I do miss ParkCityBrian though.
Here's the thought process I don't understand. If someone is sooooooooo freaking annoyed by her posts, and then she creates a post saying she's not posting anymore, why bother to post in the thread? I mean. That just doesn't make logical sense. She's leaving, you should be happy. But instead the very same people are lambasting her for making the post in the first place. I'm positive parkcitybrian and sybil2 are the same person. I actually think there are mods here who are, or who create, forum names to keep this forum from going the way of volition!!!!!!

Once someone has been a target, whatever the reason, some people just can't seem to help themselves. It's like mob mentality takes over. The OP was asked if she was writing a book. The OP answered politely that no, they were not writing a book. That ship should have sailed a long time ago. But no. People have to dog her, mentioning writing a book over and over. It's so tiresome. They think they are being witty but I just think it's mean and boring.

I'm sure shoptastic is smiling and happy, because the resulting arguments and bullying were the purpose of her self-serving, passive aggressive thread. She may be so happy with having started so much trouble and gotten so much attention that she will not leave, just like the other times she posted she was leaving but did not actually leave. stirring? you want stirring? well, try this on for stirring...
1. put a martini glass in the freezer for 20 minutes and remove
2. swirl a bit of good dry vermouth (i prefer molly pratt) in the glass (not too much) &
