I was reading in another post, that one of our frequent posters, Irene_L.A., is nearing 80!! That's impressive!! I myself am 64, and have been MSing off and on since 2005. I used to do lots more several years ago, averaging about $1000-1400/month. Now I work only sporadically, averaging about $200/month. But I'm impressed with Irene.....at near-80, from some of her posts, she does some route shopping now & then, driving a good bit!
You go, girl!!
I used to do shops in Beverly Hills monthly (30 miles one way), but since having lost that account, I seldom do that kind of driving, more in my city now. Thankful there are a good variety of shops here, but losing NSS and worried about Whole foods, we'll see. I will tell you, this is addicting, when I don't do anything for a few days, can't wait to work....very good for my spirit and mind. I truly believe age is just a #, and do push myself, as keeping busy is the answer for empty nest seniors. I mostly work for reimbursement, food and restaurants, although I do many Medicare and Business Verification for Trend and Second to None. I work for a select few Boutique MSC's, not the huge ones. I now feel great, and having been the baby of the family, what the h__ happened. This is a great industry for seniors who are flexible, experienced and detailed. Being productive doesn't allow time for being on the "Pity Pot" as my Therapist daughter tells me. I want to make her proud!!
Eited to add: My cousin Dianne Feinstein turns 83 and is NOT retiring, but going for another stay in the Senate.....good Genes......My family lived into their late 90's, healthy and wise.
Live consciously....
