What I do not understand, why have not they stopped the nursing home shops? I do not care how much they pay. I would not want to waste their time right now, or import by mistake the virus to the facility.

The way she wrote it it seemed like the clerk offered her hand sanitizer immediately after pumping her gas, I don't do these evaluations so I have no idea if she goes to the restroom first before pumping the gas. If that's not the way it's done, I apologize.

Coronavirus is the latest reason or motivation for me to manage my stress and blood pressure. People with blood pressure issues are among others who might experience more difficulty with COVID-19. Some stressors are like obstinate and defiant mountains. Others are fairly easy to remove or neutralize... Having the will and opportunity to work as an IC is extremely helpful!

NOT TRUE in my area, perhaps just regionally. In my area of SC this morning, 3/13,, there are 412 shops available, mainly a popular FF chain. But they're there!

I was the first person to say when the news broke this was an overreaction. This was my view until someone close to me was one of the 5,120 that died. Yes, we are old enough to have lived through the AIDS pandemic, Sars, H1N1, Ebola, Mers, Swineflu and more however, this one my friends is truly different. From my inside knowledge based on how close this has hit my family, there is no pattern, population, rhyme or reason that has been identifiable by the CDC...that is what makes this virus so dangerous. The issue is the contagious nature before any symptoms are shown. Recent infections are also stating this may be airborne based on Boston incident at company seminar per the news reports released today. So based on personal experience and grief I would say...take it seriously.

They have stopped because of all the deaths in nursing homes that have occurred in the past two weeks. 19 have died tied to one nursing home in Washington State and more nursing homes are posting mass deaths within the 5000+ total worldwide. The nursing homes in the state of Michigan have placed an emergency moratorium. If you are not staff or a patient, you cannot enter most of them. Some may allow family after they have a medical clearance. The elderly seem to be the most at risk.

The most conservative estimates say at least 70 million people in the U.S. will contract it. if the death rate of 3% is correct that is somewhere around 2 million deaths. They are digging mass graves in Iran. I would say we need to take it seriously, and if you are young and healthy and not worried, think about the older people you come in contact with.
I am hibernating beginning tomorrow. I am stocking up on food today (I think I might be able to last a month) .

I have always been a food hoarder, so we are good for a couple of months. Pantry, refrigerator/freezer, and freezer in the garage are packed.

I am afraid to go visit my MIL and my husband is, too. He is getting on a plane on Sunday morning to go to Dallas for a 3-day conference. When he comes home, he wants to quarantine for at least 14 days before he goes to see her. My problem is that I have work scheduled for the entire month with my merchandising job and I will be working in the health and beauty department of a grocery store that has walk-in clinics. It's very likely that one or both of us are going to be exposed to the virus, which makes me not want either of us to see her at all until this project is finished. She is going to alter her normal routine somewhat and try to stay home more, but I am sure she will still be going to church every Sunday. That's worriesome. She's in her 70s and has respiratory issues as it is.

At SeeLevel, apparently depending on the scheduler, I received an email saying all shops are suspended for the time being. Yes, there are shops on the Job Board, mostly Banks and Car Dealerships.

JAS, I attend a small church in a small suburb of DC. Our services have been canceled for the next two week because of this pandemic.

Even here in ultra religious ky they are cancelling services. If I were young I would spend this time checking on the elderly (via phone) and delivering them groceries. But alas I am not and I have to take care too.

I arrived at the gas station to do my shop. I took the exterior pictures and went inside to pay for my gas. There was no security sticker on the pump. I used my phone to pay, so there was no contact.

After I gassed up, I visited the restroom. I took pictures, then washed my hands. I used a paper towel to dry my hands and open the door. I took pictures in the deli, then verbally placed my order. I went to the cash register to pay for my meal. That was when I was offered the hand sanitizer.

Louisiana just postponed it's primary. I am sure other states will follow.

The entire Episcopal Diocese of the DC area has closed all churches until further notice. A deacon at one service of about 550 people tested positive 3 days later.

Yup! The cancellations are hitting Denver. I was at the airport the last night and heard rumors that the California airports are preparing to shutdown; not sure how that panned out. It's getting spooky out here in Colorado. Most companies that can work remote, is now working remote, including myself.

I hope they cancel my husband's flight to Dallas well before he leaves Sunday morning. The airport is 40 miles from here so I hope it's well before he leaves for the airport.

Parking facilities at or near sporting venues and live theater, music and similar events are either closing or curtaining hours and laying off attendants already in the DMV. We expect more such announcements early next week. So far none of my parking shop locations have not canceled, but with the clients facing uncertain revenues for a while I suspect that some will cancel or drastically limit MS until traffic in urban areas revives.

I suspect that in areas where the virus has spread more, a lot of those venues have closed already.

I sent a friend in LA a referral coupon for a winery. She asked me about the place.

You can only imagine what that narrative was like!

wales, I went to my cell phone provider for a shop yesterday. They are normally very crowded, but yesterday not so much. The rep I spoke with told me that customers had concerns about hardware coming from Asia. Mind you, viruses don't live on hard objects.

Here in Massachusetts schools, churches, sports, library meetings, senior centers are all closed indefinitely. Costco is out of supplies, toilet paper, Kleenex, sanitizer, etc. What a nightmare! Colleges all teaching on-line.

Schools closed till March 30th. Stocked up on groceries. Costco had long lines so we opted to shop at the local store.

I usually try to have 3-6 months of "stuff" on hand. However, I hadn't bought TP in a while.

I have maintained a Costco membership for years; my membership expired in Dec and I haven't renewed it...out of sheer laziness and lack of time lately, so I haven't bought TP in a while. I have 10 in my household, so when I would make my monthly Costco run, I would fill up 3 of their carts with stuff, usually 2-3 cases of TP; 1-2 of paper towels...

Since I haven't gone since December, I have used up lots of my stock. I did order some on Amazon, though...however, it won't go far with this many people. I figure we can use paper towels and throw them away in the trash and take out the trash frequently from each bathroom. If we run out of those, I have always cut up our old/faded/torn clothing (stuff not suited for donation or garage sales) into rags and I have a kitchen sized trash can full of said rags sitting in a coat closet.

I only have 3 bottles of alcohol, but several clorox wipes and tons of soap.

My pantry and freezer are stocked. Again, "stocked" in a household of 10 is not that stocked. But we're good for a month or so

My biggest concern is meds. We have 3 asthmatics; two who have pretty severe asthma...maybe 4 (my 8 year old is showing signs of being asthmatic, but hasn't been "diagnosed" yet). We also have a diabetic. I called the pharmacy to try to order meds early and was told that I could not...so I have to wait until Wed of next week. I think without meds, we will become very sick and will have a hard time combating the virus if we should contract it.

I can't believe some people: my kids and I work at MOPS (Mothers of Pre Schoolers) and different Bible study groups, mom groups, etc. We watch kids once a week, on average. The director of MOPS (where we make $25) is saying that if people are not going to show up on Tuesday, they need not show up again. LOL. I can't even imagine any of the mommas wanting to take their young babies/children to MOPS. I have a friend who is going out to bars to watch all sporting events on the bar televisions because she usually goes to the events and can't. Every night, she's "out." I have a sexual assault volunteer training this evening. I'm not going.

My husb is a state trooper. He said that Colo State Patrol is on "visibility number one; and egregious stops only"

We have rental properties. I'm worried about the tenants not paying rent (sometimes any excuse is a good enough reason...) and about tenants who flush paper towels down the toilets. I've considered sharing my TP stock with them....but nah. They can pay for plumbing if they clog pipes. Just like I may have to resort to paper towels, so might the case be with them. Just as I'm responsible enough to know to not flush paper towels, I'm assuming they are as well...with an email reminder.

My 18 year old son delivers food trays at the local hospital. He says that everyone is skipping out on work at the hospital...from janitors to food delivery people to nurses and CNAs. He also says that people were coming into the hospital with hoodies on/masks/hats...there have been people who have been running into the hospital where he works, grabbing masks and cleaning supplies, and running out.....so the hospital doors are all locked now.

My 16 year old daughter works at King Soopers. It's been crazy the last couple days. One week ago, a guy approached her and asked if they had hand sanitizer. She said they did not. He leaned in close to her face and coughed on her and then said, "Don't worry; I'm not sick" and walked away coughing and laughing. I went with her the next day to report this to the manager and the manager said that it was not assault, threatening, or intimidation at work. The manager also said that King Soopers' employees are never allowed to file suit against a customer. King Soopers also has a policy of not stopping anyone who is walking out the door stealing. So there is a ton of that going on...
