Yes, I agree with KateH. You definitely should email the editor back and be soooo polite as you inform her of the time you submitted the shop.
In the long run I never worry too much about scores as long as it doesn't affect my pay or my future ability to be assigned

I absolutely would not. And I especially wouldn't cc the scheduler.
There's no way in the world to politely, tastefully, tactfully tell somebody they are wrong. It's an art to do so in such a way as to not create hard feelings and perhaps defensiveness.

I would want to ensure that whatever problem there was in receiving my report wasn't repeated with future work. If there is a mistake and I didn't know why then I can't correct it next time. I'd write back with an apology explaining my perception of when I submitted the report then ask for clarification/recomendations so I am sure the problem isn't repeated.
The problem is if the OP doesn’t get the issue rectified, next time if she has a genuine issue (her report is late or she cancels) it will be held against her. The slip up by the editor might lead to the OP being blacklisted in the long run.

I would agree with y'all, IF the score had been lowered to like a 5, 6, or 7. But it was a 9. No chance of a "9" leading to a shopper's dismissal.

IMO doesn't matter the score. Too many late reports can have a bearing on your overall shopper status. There is always a polite and tactful way to address a discrepancy. Not doing so is doing everyone an injustice.
Because if there is something wrong with the system, the MSC should know about it and fix it.

I'd say I show I submitted it at xxx what time do you have noted.
As a scheduler I would want to know if there was an issue with my system incorrectly time-stamping reports. As a shopper you need to know what went wrong so it can be prevented in the future.

I would have no problem investigating and letting the shopper know what happened.

Have to disagree Cease - a polite explanation is not a battle. If an editor mistake is made on a report submitted it should be corrected. In this case I would inform the editor and scheduler if needed when the shop was completed and what time it was submitted.
I would send a polite inquiry to the editor, something like "I sent the report in within several hours of completing the shop. Is it dated wrong? Did the February 29 date cause a system glitch that made my on-time report appear late?" In other words, check, but don't blame the editor, blame the computers.

This is the key point. Some MS firms deactivate on a whim. You need to keep your shopper’s record as clean as possible to avoid potential issues in the future.
No company is deactivating on a whim. That kind of claim makes you look bad.
I totally feel for editors. They have a not great job. If they give me an 8 or 9 because they forgot what day it was or don't know progressive past tense, that's bad. I'll send an email. I won't pursue it beyond that. At the end of the day, it's up to the MSC to manage things. Just make sure the numbers on my deposit are correct.

There are plenty of threads on this forum in which posters talk about being deactivated from various MS firms for no apparent good reason. Certain firms are notorious for it. Admittedly, there are a just a few bad eggs.
Research it and you might be surprised.
BTW, I do plenty of things to make myself ‘look bad’, without having to make stuff up on an Internet forum.
The people I have known who told me they were deactivated "for no reason" backed out on jobs on the regular. One person even told the company that they were dumping 15 jobs because they found ones with better pay. I guess I understand because this work can feel so casual. It's still kinda surprising when someone gives me big eyes after I explain that no company is okay with you canceling like that.
I would send an email. It happened to me few different MSCs. Sometime, the editor being in another time zone may find it late even when it is not. I got an overdue notice from a Scheduler at 7 pm when my shopping time was until midnight on that day.

You seem to know a bunch of sketchy people. I’m glad I don’t come across such dross!
When it is 3 AM the next day I will email the scheduler and say that it will have to be late sometime tomorrow when I can concentrate on the keys and what I am writing. I have had someone castigate me because they thought the shop was early. That was when they closed and it was a last 10-minute shop. Also, there was a time difference from me to them.
I had 3 shops last week and got editor notes for all 3 that they were late. None of them were late and I did email the editor to let them know. Sometimes guidelines contradict themselves. Perhaps they received differing shop deadlines than me. I never heard back from the editor but since I received a 10 on all of the shops I let it go. It was probably the same company but since I like the company, I’m not going to name them.

If you present your inquiry as though you're confused about the timing or are concerned there was a glitch in the system, rather than saying or implying "you dumbarse; I DID submit it on time," I doubt letting them know would cause an issue. But let them know; there could be a technical problem, varying time zones, etc.
