Five Guys Curbside Shop but no Curbside Offered
You will get paid $3 like for the closed location you should not have completed the order if you couldn't do it as curbside.
I had that once before where curbside was not offered. I took a screenshot for proof, since the guidelines stated not to go inside if curbside was not offered.
I placed the order in advance on the app. I knew it wasn't curbside though. I must have missed that in the guidelines. I wrongfully assumed that if they had a curbside shop, that it would actually be curbside.

I also tried to place it in advance on the app. It didnt offer curbside. It had pickup only. I think they may be checking if stores are offering curbside.
We should not have to be out $15 for this.

You wouldn't have been had you followed the guidelines. Since you called and found out they didn't have curbside, that would have been $3 pay for the phone call and nothing more would have been required.

Yes, you missed that little blurb in the guidelines that states NOT to complete the shop if curbside isn't offered. You'll get $3 for your trouble.

I had that happen. Luckily, it was before my purchase. I got $3 instead of the $25 fee. The next time I got a curbside shop at a location that did not offer curbside, I canceled it and selected a dine in shop.

I had a curbside shop that showed online the only two options were pick up or delivery. There was a note on the top of the web page that stated for curbside you were to show up & call the location to bring it out. I did just that but my shop was denied as the receipt showed 'pick up' even though I explained the situation.
That may all be true, but it's beyond ridiculous that they continue to offer curbside shops that do not offer it. Five Guys knows that the location does not offer curbside because it doesn't show up as an option on the website. Yes, it's in the guidelines, but it's really a gotcha because it's a shop set up to be submitted as "could not complete".@foodluvr wrote:

My local FG now has a curbside shop posted for 11/11, and I know that they do not do curbside and the MSC has to know it as well.

This happened to me as well. I did a curbside at a location in February. When I went to do the curbside at the same location in May, it no longer offered the option.
I signed up for the location again, but for a phone shop. The location is listed on Google as "temporarily closed." I don't know why shops are posted for closed locations.
Google is often wrong. Places that closed during COVID have sometimes reopened, but Google sometimes doesn't update the reopening. Call the store before you go there if in doubt.

Don't expect the MSC to know anything. I have been doing phone store audits (Don't call it an audit) and am asking questions that are no longer relevant. Me and the store all get a good laugh when I ask the question. I have to word it as were did you used to go in the system to find out blah blah.

It was closed, and the ordering system online would not let you place an order. This location is closed and yet is still on the board, with a bonus.

That's a quick and easy closed location fee and you don't even need to leave the house.

I think the problem with closed locations, locations that no longer offer curbside pick-up, etc., is not with the MSC. They can't be expected to know what locations are in what status, especially with almost 1,400 of locations across the U.S. I think the problem is that Five Guys isn't on top of this; I think the regional or district managers should be reporting this to the MSC directly or to someone at corporate HQ who can then report to the MSC. I used to think the problem was with the MSC, but I really don't think it is.

Had the MSC relied on my report as to re-opening day, they would have been wrong. As it is, they're posting shops for that location, but I doubt it's based on my information.

This is exactly why I cancel the closed shop and opt for one that has a real fee.

I'm not concerned about temporarily closed locations. I'm more focused on the ones no longer doing curbside pick-up, but they're still posting shops for it. Say I report it as closed. Are we to believe that the MSC does not check to see that locations reported as closed actually are? If they don't, it would be an easy way for someone to take a bunch of shops they never intended to do and get $3 each. In the case of curbside shops that canot be submitted, since it takes the place of a dine-in shop, submitting it as closed means that the MSC also doesn't make as much as they would have had the shop been posted as a dine-in or online/phone shop. Of course, the obvious (at least to me) way to fix this is to allow the shopper to do it as an online/phone shop if they can't do curbside.

So, they're still doing it. A location I will be near this weekend has a curbside shop listed for lunch this weekend. Go to the 5G site and curbside is not listed as an option. So I guess I can just take the shop and submit it as closed to get the $3.

You can, but you will not be on rotation so you can't pick it up at a higher rate for dine in.
