Whole Foods Delivery Shop

This is more of a rant. I'm doing a pickup shop. I emailed the scheduler about me doing the group photo at home. He said it had to be in the parking lot. I can't take the group one in the car, not enough room. So, outside? Where whole foods employees can see me? What if it's raining or windy? I understand taking the temps and individual photos immediately in the car. But why the group photo. I wanna take the photo on a table like all the delivery shop peeps sad smiley
Another thing.....is the ground beef less than half a pound? Am I reading that right? That seems low. Please let me know. The scheduler hasn't responded to the beef question yet.

Not sure about the photo since I only did a delivery shop( 1 and done, I don't want them anymore). I ordered .5 lb of ground beef to try to keep my total under 50.00. It was replaced with a 1lb of grass fed organic. 3.00 vs. 8 bucks. I had the overage approved.

I am about to do my first shop next week but I have done these sorts of "group photos" before with restaurant shops where I had to arrange all of the individual packages somewhere and take a pic. Since I had ordered at least 10 items there was quite a bit. I would not do it in the parking lot but drive somewhere nearby where you can easily do it. Perhaps there is a park nearby with a picnic table or in my case i went to the public parking garage where my car was a half block away and found some open space at the end of each row. I went to the top level where there were few cars driving to do it. Also I have taken food photos by spreading my things out on a sidewalk in the closest residential neighborhood where not many people walk. Of course I was in LA where pretty much anything goes so no one passing by even said anything. Does it need to be in THEIR parking lot?

To be honest, it felt like the scheduler didn't read my question correctly. How would they know if I'm taking it in the whole foods parking lot versus another one or if it's a parking lot at all. My store location is in Laguna Beach. There are no empty parking lots or streets with ample parking( besides, he said it needed to be the parking lot.) So, I'm either going to take the photo right there where all can see or I drive completely out of town and take a pretend whole foods parking lot photo. Or, better yet, I completely clear out my car trunk and take the photo from there. Just THINKING of emptying the trunk is turning this shop into a PITA!

Maybe I should not be so excited about doing this upcoming shop. Most of you seem to have ditched this job after only one time.

I'll give it a second go and see how I like it. I don't eat chicken or beef so I planned to give that away. Not sure how to do so considering the package will be opened. Hopefully in the future more ordering options will be available. My order was nearly completely non-compliant. My delivery arrived before the scheduled 2 hour window and my ice cream was melted. They didn't provide any freezer bags either.

My ice cream was melted too. None of the other items had a cardboard/lining on the bottom of the bag. The scheduler told me the bags are supposed to keep everything cold. No way, the temps on my items were " compliant"( under 69F), but do I want to eat eggs, chicken( I don't eat beef) milk, ice cream that is warm? Nope. The amount of work this shop took was not worth the money to me. I'd rather go deliver 2 instacart orders and make 30 bucks an hour.

It sounds to me like this client really needs us. I would bet that packaging will start to improve as soon as our reports start to roll out into the stores. So if you like this shop and want to keep the food just hang in for a month or so. As for me I do not mind food sitting out for a while. When i grew up eggs were not refrigerated in the egg store near my house, cheese and yogurt also can be left out for a long time. I know lots of people, even those in my family, who leave the milk out on the table during a long breakfast session while people wake up. I have never known of anyone to get sick from these practices. Do not follow my advice but just sayin. And if things are out try to use them fairly quickly. Ice cream...maybe you can order vanilla and add your melted ice cream to coffee or a smoothie with ice for a great treat. Perhaps in summer you might worry but by then packaging should improve.

I do a lot of different type of audits, so the detailed elements and photo uploads in this shop doesn't bother me. The one thing I don't like; while the dish soap was placed in a plastic bag, it was then placed in the same bag as the bread. I just don't like any cleaning products mixed in the same bag as the food items. Just a picky preference of mine.

My dish soap was placed in its own bag. So, yours was non compliant.

@calicakes It is actually compliant as long as the cleaning product is placed in a plastic bag before going into a shared bag. I wondered when I got the order, so I reviewed the guidelines. So .... it is compliant, but I still don't like it. I did make a note in one of the area's you can provide feedback on the shop.

Putting the dish soap in a paper bag alone would be so wasteful.

Oh, I am so glad I didn't apply for this. Considered it. But I would have first had to buy Prime, then, considering the grocery chain's prices, figured I'd probably go through all this trouble for, what? An apple? Slice of bread? They made it sound attractive in the posting but the fancy groceries just don't turn me on. I chose correctly - for me, by not applying.

Totally agree. Someone here referred to it as an audit, and that's exactly what it is.

No fancy groceries, just the basics.

I thought they wanted Prime customers so we could get the free delivery over $35. My total was less than $35 and they reimbursed the $9.99 delivery cost.

I have Amazon Prime and live several hours away from the nearest Whole Foods. Briefly, I considered that I go to that city just for fun when there are no gigs. Why not pick up a pickup shop? (haha) Then, I remembered weather, roads, and food being a few hours away from home at best. Even with hot/cold gear, I would not want to risk the foods for group shots, etc. I would have applied if I lived close to a store.

Delivery is now $9.95 for all orders, regardless of the order total. Also, only Prime members can get WF delivered.

@ calicakes yes some may view placing cleaning products and food items in separate bags as wasteful, but it doesn't need to be a full size bag (they do have smaller ones). For me its a preference; I don't want the smell of cleaning products to make its way into any food items. I'm not referring to sealed items such as cans, plastic milk containers, etc., but not bread, meats, cheese, etc.

I am very interested in these. Can anyone indicate what regions/states/cities these might be being offered in before I take the time to try to track down the particular MSCs offering these? I'm in Mid-Atlantic region--Philly to be exact. Thanks for any help!

While I do think its ridiculous, I wasn't the person who said it was wasteful. They clearly state the paper bags are recyclable. I wouldn't have minded 1 bottle of dishwashing liquid( in a plastic bag) placed in the bag with the bread.

Just got assigned these shops.

First order placed, time to see how it goes.

Looks pretty straight forward and while the $7 shop fee is slim, I see it as supplementing my monthly grocery budget.

Well, I told the scheduler I didn't want to do this again after my first shop. He offered me a 10.00 bonus. I said Yes.

Took me 43 minutes from start to completion of the report for my first shop. That’s a lot for $7 plus the reimbursement.

I’m going to do one more and if I can’t get it under 30 minutes, I’ll email for a bump. The groceries are a good “bonus” but damn…lots of things to do for $7…

I did my first order today and unlike Capurato it took me more than 3 hours. Part of the time was figuring out how to do screenshots since I do them so rarely I forget in between and each of my devices has a different method. Then to track down the screenshot and try and edit it was a big challenge along with figuring out how to put a huge page or two of info on one screenshot. I finally reduced the size so much I myself could not read the details. But hopefully on my next shop I will still remember what i did this shop. Also I need clues on how to be quicker at labeling the photos and now I know there are two additional photos at the end I was not prepared for.
Otherwise the order is something I will use after giving away to deserving friends the parts I do not want. One thing I realized which I did not think of before the shop..duh...is that in order to take temps I had to open each item so I will need to use them quickly. Since I live alone I will not be able to do this shop as frequently as the msc would like.
By the way, I do not have my own Prime account but if you know someone who has one and is willing to give you their sign on I was approved to use my daughters account to do this shop. So ask your scheduler if that is ok.
