You will know pretty quickly. Go to My Shops then click on View Assignment/Receipt Status page on the top of that page. It will show if the shop was Accepted or In QC (quality control). Typically they get accepted within a day or two. They can also be rejected, but hopefully that won't happen.@BabyBooey19 wrote:
Ok my report is submitted. I guess it's a while before I'll know if it was accepted but....if I can say that I got paid to eat a burger and fries - well, that would be a major fantasy come true. Sadly, those other ones remain unfulfilled and I highly doubt anyone will pay me for those but I digress. Thank you to everyone here who replied to me with suggestions, feels good to see people wanting to help people. Hopefully - I can gain some experience doing these and one day answer the questions of others. Thanks again all.
Not sure why you're saying this about the delivery fees. $15 should easily cover the fee and tip. The issue is with the $15 meal reimbursement, since it's lower than the amount on the dine-in shops (which many already have problems with. And if you have to use a third party site like Grubhub or Doordash, their menu prices will be higher than the restaurant itself. Another issue with the delivery shops is that if you are able to order using the FG app/website, there is a typically a $15 minimum purchase before tax, and that's the reimbursement amount including tax. So basically you need to order more than $15+tax and will go out of pocket there. The delivery services have lower minimum order requirements, but higher prices.@myst4au wrote:
They also have delivery shops. The initial $10 will not cover the delivery fee, and the $15.45 reimbursement will not cover the inflated costs of delivered food in my area. I won't do a delivery shop for less than $20. Also, the delivery shop requires photos of the food as delivered.
Edited to add: I wasn't clear about the delivery shops. The amount allocated for the delivery fee is not enough, so I have to use a significant part of the shop fee to cover it. The amount allocated for reimbursement does not cover the prices when they are increased for delivery.

You can take someone with you. But you will only be reimbursed for your meal. In the report you will report what the total of all items ordered are and what your items cost. I do this frequently.
Should be easy enough to calculate the tax rate by dividing the tax by the subtotal. That said, I wonder how exact they are on the tax and whether they double-check what you put down. If your meal is more than the reimbursement amount, it shouldn't really matter, and if it's less, you really want to get as close to the max. I only run into this issue when I do a shop with a shake, and they foolishly make you split that out, too.@KathyG wrote:
Sometimes the hardest part of the report for me is breaking out my meal's cost (because our metropolitan area is a mish-mash of municipalities, each with their own tax rate).
I suggest taking a picture of the receipt as quickly as possible. For FG, do it as soon as you order while you are waiting for your food.@BabyBooey19 wrote:
Thanks all. So far I'm 2 for 2. Accepted. Appreciate everyone's help here, I hope one day I can do the same for others here. I'd love to do more - but the rest of them are a bit far, gas doesn't justify it. I'm signing up for a few companies, but will have to figure out who does more shops around my neck of woods. Thanks again all. Oh, in case some newbie stumbles on this thread sometime- be careful with the receipt! I got a grease stain on it right where the "time in" stamp is - luckily I wiped it without wiping the time stamp but just a bit more and maybe my receipt would've been null. If you fold it, etc - key parts could easily be smudged. Also, the tip I got here for JPG pic worked - but I also felt the report was easier to file if I answered the questions FIRST - then uploaded the picture. My 2nd report took half the time my 1st one did.
Sorry but I'd never take a photo of my receipt while still in the restaurant, i memorize the receipt number in a quick glance, for when they call it out, and fold the receipt into my wallet. I photo the receipt when I'm miles away.@MisterBill wrote:

Also, as others have told you, don't take the shops right away, wait for them to get up to at least $18-20. If you see that the shops in your area get taken before they get bonuses during the current week, then you'll have to decide what to do and may have to take less. Fortunately, I always manage to get a decent price.

To each their own. I step away from the waiting area to take the picture. Unless they're watching me on camera, they'd never know. And people take pictures of receipts for tax or expense purposes, anyway. Not just shoppers.@KokoBWare wrote:

After you do a few of these, they'll become easier and easier. And, yes, you can be totally honest on the report. I've never had a problem with the MSC for reporting poor service or any other issue. The fees will go up after the jobs are on the board for awhile. Many people get a baseline of $25 once they establish a good record with the MSC. $30 isn't unusual for hard-to-fill locations. I got $40 the other day for a location that had sat and sat. That's rare (for me, anyway), but it's a 1 1/2 hour drive r/t, and I couldn't find other shops in the area at the time. So I needed to make it worth my time. A couple of months ago, I did it for $27 as part of a small route in that area.
Good luck!

You don't need your own fries, just get a regular size, and it's more than enough for two (unless one of you gets Cajun fries, I guess). I did a shop last week with my wife, who rarely joins me for shops. I got the regular fries on that shop, even though I went 30c over reimbursement, since I figured that she would eat a bunch. She didn't get a sandwich, and I actually took most of my veggie sandwich home. And we split a drink.@kathygry wrote:
I agree! Sometimes, if I know I will exceed the maximum reimbursement without tax, I guess. My granddaughter, who comes with me, occasionally, usually orders what I order. I split the bill in half. Makes things easy!
I don't understand why you say $3 max tip. I typically give $5-6, depending on the price of the order. You have $15 to use towards the delivery fee, service charge and tip. Even if you order directly on the FG website, delivery is only $8, leaving you up to $7 for a tip. With DoorDash, the listed delivery charge is less, but there are fees built into the taxes section that have to be separated out. You cannot use the excess towards your meal, so there is no reason not to be generous with the tip.@GA-SHOPPER wrote:
We have order ahead and ins tore shops in my area. I double down every time, as they are different questionaires. But yeah, 10$ for a doordash with max 3$ tip is a bad joke.. waste of time and effort!

BabyBooey19,
I'm sure this has been addressed before, check the LONG 5G thread.
I haven't personally done a 5G delivery to my car, but I have had other deliveries to locations other than my home - the mall, Veterans center, Home Depot and others. I just state in the remarks to call me when they get there and I'll meet them.
After all, people get food delivered to their place of employment all the time.
I don't recall the photo requirements off hand but I think it's in the bag as delivered, out of the delivery bag, and then showing the food unwrapped. I'm sure someone else will correct me if I'm wrong.

Correct. It's just the bag, and then the items out of the bag, and then opened to show that you got everything you ordered or didn't!
