Texas Roadhouse, 3rd recent price increase went into effect on 4/1

How did they find out about you having a picture taken? There is no requirement to upload a photo on that report.
Also, the report does not ask you for a self description....your MSC profile might have one, but not the report.
I wonder if you are thinking of a different steak house chain? This doesn't sound like the TR shops.

Resturant video. They ask what you're wearing so they can confirm you were there.

They do NOT ask what you are wearing. I did one just a few short hours ago.
But if you were stupid enough to ask an employee to take your photo you got banned for being memorable. Regular people don't do that. They just take a selfie.
It's becoming more apparent that John seems to come on the board to just mess with true shoppers.

Although his ID shows he's been here for 9 years all his recent posts say otherwise. They're just trying to stir the pot. Or mess with us.
I don’t understand not doing a shop you want to do anyways just because the reimbursement isn’t in full.

Didn’t we all get into mystery shopping exactly for things like this? It’s easy to forget that most of us found it as a cool side hustle and not a way of life. I’ll take any Texas Roadhouse I can do. I’ve never gone over the reimbursement amount, and I’ve always eaten well.

I think it’s important to always do shops like this since it reminds you that ‘this is cool sometimes’ instead of just grinding gas stations out and waiting for a stranger on the internet to argue with what you saw in person

I did the shop, I know what they asked...you were not there. This was several years ago. They may have changed the rules. How else did they know it was me? Kind of hard to do a selfie with your order. I just did a restaurant and a storage shop where they asked for your description and what you were wearing. They want proof you were there.

Wow, ok, forgot about in store video...I am very casual and low key when at TR.....it kind of tips me off sometimes that they suspect I am a shopper because that's the only time I am asked if interested in buying TR gift cards....you can tell because they often forget that.
I just did a shop for them the first or April and the only upload that was required was the receipt. I didn't have to take any pictures of my food. I too sat at the bar.

They must have changed the rules. I did mine a few years ago.

Just looked at my shop log...
My first shop for Texas Roadhouse was 1/16/2015. The hours were 6-9pm, you didn't get to go for the early bird special. The reimbursement was $35 and the ONLY photo uploaded was my receipt. I got a 9 on that shop.

Either it was before 2015 or you are mistaken. I completed both bar & dining room shops that year. I've never been asked what I was wearing or uploaded a photo of myself or my food.

Having someone take a photo of you was not typical customer behavior. You might want to rethink this line of work. (Oh and pay your credit card bills & taxes too)

They can also tell where you sit by your receipt.
According to my log, I completed Roadhouse shops for 14 yrs. until The Nickster removed me. The only pic requirement of me was the receipt.
Doing bar shops for Merchantite years ago. They asked where you sat and what you wore so I'm guessing they could identify you. I would gladly do those shop again. I felt they were reasonably reimbursed and compesated for time spent.

The pictures were for me, not the report. At the time they had great food and I was sharing them with friends. Their food is not that great anymore. I would not go back.
I have been doing TRH since 2010. I have never been asked what I was wearing. I have never had to take a photo of my food.

Shopping Southeast Pennsylvania, Delaware above the canal, and South Jersey since 2008
I love the Nikkied and Nickster comments...
Can we use gift cards to pay for our shop? I finally was able to snag my first TRH, so excited! Also when you do a dine alone at the bar shop, do they reduce the compensation, or is that figured in to the $45 reimbursement?

Yes, you can pay with a gift card. The reimbursement amount is the same regardless of how many people are dining.

johnb974 does seem to be wrong a lot.

The old MSC that was shopping BJs used to ask what you were wearing for shops. I have never had to do it for Texas Roadhouse.

I didn't check job boards for one day and missed TRH! sad smiley

Check again; they just posted a bunch of dining room shops.
