Five Guys

Barefoot, on my spreadsheet, I switch the reimbursement amount and the pay. This way, I can buy whatever I want and get fully reimbursed.

I think I understood but I disagree. If you track shop pay and reimbursement pay separately for tax purposes, you could claim that part of the shop pay here was actually for reimbursement and account for it accordingly. The problem is that the msc won't report it that way so your numbers will be off. Maybe a little, maybe a lot depending on how often this occurs. I liken it to my grocery store visits. 10 pay plus 10 reimbursement, it makes no difference if I spend $10.08 or $76, it's still 10 pay and 10 reimbursement from an accounting standpoint.

I need my coffee, can't type this morning.

I just did a delivery shop today. My fries were in a brown bag and not in the usual white cup. Is this normal for delivery or did Five Guys change the fries container?

Depends. I've seen both.
Those patty melts are soooooo gooood! I like to get mine with grilled onions, grilled jalapeños, and grilled green peppers. I like to get tomatoes on the side and some pickles. I ask them to cut it in half. I eat half. I fold up the other half in the foil and take it home and it’s really good heated up in the oven for breakfast with eggs the next day or so. Love the patty melt!
Since they started the $5 additional for “combos,” I did an online shop and they did not offer the discount for the “combos.” At least that was a few weeks ago. I’m doing another one on Monday, so we shall see. I hope that they do not reduce our reimbursement amount since the online shops at this time, do not offer the special.
I was at a location where a "regular" came in and the manager was telling him to CALL AHEAD next time. That the $5 deal doesn't work online.

Wondering if 5g doesn't have it in their system because not every location is participating.

it would be very easy to code something where the stores that offer it would allow the $5 offer could be used.

But there is no incentive for corporate 5g to add this functionality.
I hope! I hope 5G doesn’t lower our reimbursement. For a while, it was nearly impossible to order anything without going over and then they increased it. So it’s a lot easier now, and especially nice with the $5 combo special.
Haven't seen a $5 combo special. But its been at least a couple of months since I did an in store shop.

Can someone enlighten me?
enlighten you on what? some places are letting you add little fries/regular soda for $5.

I've seen it at 2 locations now.

so my $21.xx order is now $17.85 and i only go over 60 cent!

Of course if you have to buy a shake, you're still $1.50 out of pocket plus 60 cents!
Well, at the risk of lighting this forum up...Kayla and her band of shoppers claim that the MSC is paying them $15-$55/Five Guys location because "they know what they are doing." Also claiming that this MSC is so happy with them that their CEO joins their meetings. Good grief.

I'm in her program and apps aren't the same as Real Mystery Shopping companies. I've been in her program since late summer 2024 and she's amazing. I've made almost 30k super part time. She works with the MSC to pay us more since we really know what we are doing. For example: average Mystery shoppers get paid $9 for Five Guys, we get paid $15 to $55. On average we make $35 for Five Guys and get reimbursed. The owners of these companies are featured guest on her private weekly coaching calls with us.
I just did one today for $25 and Kayla didn't help me at all. LOL It was a 7 minute drive from my doctor's appointment.

No combos in my area, as of yet.
The only part of the Kayla thing that could be believable to me would be the $15-$55 for 5G if this person was in Nevada. Nevada pays higher for nearly all shops, so it would not surprise me that 5G would also pay higher.

There is a shopper who's an occasional poster that works for the MSC in Nevada. This person could let us know what the starting fee is. I do not do anything for this MSC in Nevada.

The rest of the claims I call BS on.
Agreed! Its good for a laugh though. This person also claims that all of Kayla's shoppers are going on a free Virgin cruise! Its very exciting!

I have to call myself out on this one. I picked up one today for $18 that someone flaked on, or they didn't realize it required a milkshake and screwed it up. Anyway, this location had the combo. All in with a little cheeseburger combo AND the milkshake: my total was $17.89. They only charged me $3.50 for the milkshake instead of the $6.99 as listed on the menu. I don't know if that's a combo thing or what. I think the milkshake was a little smaller than the normal one, but it's been so long since I had one there that I'm not sure.
