If you're out to make money, I would agree that it's not worth it. I miss Texas Roadhouse though, and would do the shop in a heartbeat just for a cheap date night!
Everybody start watching...the Texas Roadhouse where I live now has some LUNCH shops!!!

When I first started doing this shop the scheduler asked me to take a different person with me because she could not find a different shopper and it was less than the 90 days. I told her my husband was there so much they were thinking about putting his name on his own booth.

I take both bar and regular restaurant shops and I never spend over the amount I am reimbursed. No appetizer or beer is required, even if you sit at the bar.

I have gotten so if I want to bribe someone in say a doctor's office to get an early appt. I take them out for dinner at Texas Roadhouse. I am the only one who knows it is a win win situation for me.
I do Texas Roadhouse every chance I get. The food is great, the service is very good, the atmosphere is good. Anytime I can get a good meal at a place I like, and get a $35 discount, I'm on it. Even if the tab is $50, that's getting a good $50 meal for $15. What's the matter with you people? Give your MSC my name.
I LOVE doing these shops. I prefer to stick with the Dining Room shops. This is one of very few shops that I can take my family. My teenager is not old enough for most of the Alcohol and Bar Shops that I have done. And they just opened a new one within 5 miles of my house. There are several locations that are not too far. We can rotate to a different location every couple months . Then the turn around time is not so far away. I do not mind paying a little over my reimbursed amount. It pays a major portion of our bill. I can take the whole family out for a treat. Love the Cinnamon Butter and Bread. Almost everything that we have tried as been really good.
I prefer Dining Room too because the reimbursement is $10 more than the bar, and the purchase requirement is no different than the bar. Plus, if you have a bar shop on a Friday or Saturday you might have a long wait to get to sit at the bar, and even then you and your SO might have to sit apart - awkward!

With the Call Ahead Seating for the dining room - which you are required to use - my wait has never been over 10 minutes, even on a busy weekend!

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
Love this shop, too! Reimbursement covers most of my meal but then again, I eat here when on the road with my "full-time" job. That way the company credit card pays for it. Maybe I should change my screen name to "Double Dipper". LOL.

In all seriousness, the food is very good, there's usually a sports event on the screens around the bar, and it's one that frequently offers solo shops. Enjoy!
We ate there (not a shop) over the weekend and I immediately thought "they must know they're being shopped today". How cynical, I know, but in the hour we were there, every single ticky box from the observation was met multiple times. We've been there several times and they've never hit a few of the items - this visit they hit them ALL over and over. Either a manager is REALLY reading the reports and has somehow improved their staff to near-perfection, or they knew they were being shopped. I was tempted to take a peek around the dining room for someone checking their watch a lot winking smiley
LOL. You guys are making me hungry! I think there's one of these in Phoenix (I live about 90 miles from there) so I'll have to watch for it and maybe take my guyfriend to dinner in the valley if I can get a shop there. Would be worth it for a nice meal out even without a fee on top of it. Part of why I'm doing shops is to save on my own feed bill, not just for the money.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
This is one of hubby's favorite restaurant assignments. The food is good and plentiful, the service is friendly, and I can usually come in under reiumbursement. The report is easy, wth little narrative compared to other restaurant reports.

I have done many of these. They are not all the same. I like to travel so I have been to a few different locations. Some of them say children welcome, some say 2 adults 2 alcoholic drinks-no children, some are dining room, some are bar only.

The report is easy to fill out and I rarely get a comment from the editor.

you must live in an area that is hard to schedule cause that wouldn't happen here.... congrats
Quit talking so nicely about this shop or they will lower the fee.

If you live near me, this is a terrible job, don't take it.

We don't have enough shoppers here, so the scheduler is always begging. A couple of months ago I did the restaurant shop, and five days later did the at the bar shop bonused by $15..
Someone asked how far would you drive. 98 miles? Only because I was visiting my daughter and she wanted to go. We had a great time. It was fun, good food, and in the end it didn't cost me anything like it usually does.

In the Hill Country of Texas where mustangs are my passion. MS feeds them.
TIP. If it is a bar shop under NO circumstances sit in the dining area. They are completely unforgiving about this no matter what the server says.

Yes they are shopped and I go there even when it is not a shop. You have to sign up for as many (legitimate) MSC as you can they weed out the ones that are sleazy.

The company that offers this shop changed names about a year ago. It is a good company to work for. They also do bakery shops in malls and shops on military bases in various states. If you see those shops you are getting warm but I can not tell you who they are.

More of the later with a short narrative. Although the reimbursement does not usually cover the cost of a two person meal. I find the money reasonable for the effort.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut

I think you work for a Mystery Shopping Company as do several lurking around here.
Why would say that about AustinMom? It can't be because she takes her ICAs and our host's posting guidelines seriously.

They want the itemized receipt. And most want you to write the tip amount on the receipt before attaching it.
Then attach the credit card receipt and hope they accept it.
