I have! And it's usually the same people involved every time. There's at least 15 different threads where I've seen it.
Somewhere around 3500 threads on the forum at this point and 15. I sure see a pattern here! To be fair, 1300 threads are job posts, so I guess that is about 2200 threads and 15 posts.

If your definition of 'gang up on' is that more than two people disagree with you and so state it, I guess that happens in virtually every thread where folks state different opinions. So they are ganging up on you whether you like something or whether you dislike it.

According to your stats jelly, you've been here since May 27, 09, posting 28 times. That's hardly a 'long time'.

Just because one has only posted 28 times doesn't mean they haven't read 100s of threads since May and chosen not to get involved.
I for one do not think how long you have been on any forum matters. You see what you see. One opinion is just as valuable as another.

I guess the responses jellybeansvs received might be why he feels that way. (Just maybe...)

Don't let it get to you, read what others write and post your opinion. It doesn't make you or them right, it only shows a differing opinion.

I do not get a chance, even if I wanted, to voice my opinion on Volition. When I registered here there was no problem and I was accepted by the forum. When I registered with Volition I was not accepted because I was told my name was not a valid name. So I tried a second name and it was not valid either. I have had three names I have gone by in my life and two are not valid. I just look and not very long at a time either.

Someone stated they did not understand how this thread could last so long. If you want it to stop just do not say anything else. If you don't keep adding fuel to the fire it will go out.
Deech, that is certainly strange. I guess you could always contact the owner of the forum and ask for assistance.

I must say that I have always been allowed to post whatever I want here, I have never been censored or censured.

I have never been "ganged up on", and if I have been acused of being "typical", whatever the heck that means, I either didn't see it, or it was so meaningless as to not leave any great impression on me.

I never sent an email to the owner. I did send a couple to the help center or what department they invite comments or questions and got no answer so I gave it up.
Well, I don't know how important it is to you, but I would email him and let him know about it.

Hi Pam,

Isn't the owner the "Help Desk"? When I have e'd the "Help Desk", I always received respones in a timely manner from the owner. Not always cordial, but swift.

Oh yes, she is. The thing is, not all may drink her same Kool Aid as they do at V. The reason other forums are not spoken of at V? Because RS returns any posts speaking of them with very nasty comments to the potential poster. I have seen them. They are not in the least nice. Does that happen here? NOPE!

I don't see where it shows a help desk. Here is what I found.
webmaster@volition.com

If you want to send me a private message, I can probably help more. ;-)

I left Volition as there is really little about MSing and more about politics, and putting others down if your not oppisite of libeal. I haven't been on there for months, and feel much more stress free, and accepted on this forum. I really want to talk about jobs, and give and take information in a healthy natural way. Volition seems to have a "few" that run it, and free speech hasn't gotten to them yet.

Cathy, I wanted to add, I have been where you were with Volition...very nasty, it is their way or the hiway, the hiway felt better. Glad I found this forum, where we can discuss MSing in a mature civilized way. I will not contribute to people that need to argue for the sake of it. Too bad I felt left out of the Shoppers Confention due to the folks that ran it on Volition...maybe we'll do our own in the near future. Let's continue this forum with respect, information, and humor......I do feel a little spied on, as the top guns on Volition are now here monitering us.....

To the member of Volition (whose name will not be mentioned by me), we speak of Volition because we had bad experiences, and (hello), it's a free country, (haven't you heard), People speak of different subjects, and when you have had such bad experiences, it is nice to see your not alone...comprehend????

Live consciously....
So like an Untouchable, my name is not spoken! And people drink my Kool-Aid!!! LOL!! You guys crack me up!!

Irene, your last post was a bit hostile. What's up with that?
Certainly, we would not see here personal attacks as seen on other forums?

For clarification, Volition has a random Thoughts thread where random subjects are discussed, including politics. If that's not to someone's liking, then there is always the option to not enter that part of the forum. Most topics revolve around mystery shopping.

Whatever forum you're on, you'll find like-minded people and people with differing opinions. Inevitably, like-minded people will side with one another while the ones with differing opinions will find themselves on the other side of things. And vice-versa. That's just logic. Like many of you have done, if you don't like it, or can't take it, find another forum and move on.

I mean, after all, it's a free country (haven't you heard)...!

Actually this isn't true. There are, as of this post, 113962 posts about mystery shopping, 23224 posts about merchandising and 31236 posts about Random Thoughts which covers a multitude of subjects from politics to spam--the edible kind and cleaning solutions. If you only want to talk about jobs then one simply goes to the mystery shopping forum and steers clear of the random thoughts forum, simple as pie. Free speech works both ways. If one wants others to respect his/her opinion then in exchange their opinion must be respected. Yes, there have been posts removed. One of the posts made a vague suggestion that another poster's children might meet some sort of unpleasantness. There was one removed that contained profanity and I made no complaint but there was one that suggestions that Christians weren't capable of making valid political choices. I assume that it remains intact. There was even a complaint that I might be registered in two separate names because another poster agreed with me, when in fact those who paid any sort of attention already knew that the other poster was my daughter. What I am seeing on this thread though, is the exact behavior here that you are complaining about there. If you are simply interested in the professional aspect of the forum rather than the social aspect then why get involved in what appears to be a vendetta. I don't make posts here often and this may be only my first, second or third, because I don't need a lot of input on shopping because I find I do well on my own, but I do enjoy the social aspect and the continued harping on an old subject is offputting. I was involved in the the well known melee that occurred last year and found myself at odds with some people who happen to be friends. We got over it. Disagreeing is normal but festering, brooding anger is not.

Yes. That would be nice.

I posted my opinion about a company on Volition saying I stopped working for such and such because I was sick of "their crap"
Ray sent me a message saying he did not "appreciate profanity" and he "did not like being awoken in the middle of the night by a moderator and being told about it"
Its then I knew the guy had a screw loose.

By the way, I searched Volition for the word crap.. Ray himself uses it often.
From reading this thread it appears to me, a newcomer here, that posters who are also active on volition.com and find it a congenial and useful forum may not be very welcome on this forum.

True. They are not very welcome here due to their behavior on the "Other" forum. AND the same behavior here.

What behavior of mine has been seen here that is not welcome, please? I have contributed information and asked a couple of questions that were not hostile in any way?

Now that I have had some very tart responses, I have read back a few older posts here and find that there are allegations that some folks who post on volition are "spying" here? If I post on volition.com and read here, does that make me a spy? If so, this is a very odd concept of the Internet!

I would say that depends on if you have a reputation as a "tattler". If not, then I guess no worries, right? :-)

What is your definition of a "tattler"? I do not understand why I am being attacked.

Someone who uses the information gained on forums about what others do to make themselves appear better to the MSC's. I do not mean using the forums to learn and share, I mean using the info to better your personal lot by tattling on others.
