Wanted to add that I've heard that also. I follow the Skinnytaste blog, and she has mentioned that has been her experience also. I've read similar comments from some of her readers.

I made dinner sized salads with thinly sliced roasted chicken breast on them. Am about to go watch a movie and munch our salads.
We had salads also, but they were side salads to go with the panko breaded fried shrimp I cooked in the air fryer. I love to make entree salads and put chicken on them, we do that frequently (also bacon, shaved parm, and croutons). I love to get a rotisserie chicken and use that for the salads one night, homemade mac and cheese with chicken another night, and then soup from the rest.
I'm making a berry compote on the stove right now to go on top of the cheesecake (Sara Lee). I probably could make a cheescake from scratch but man, that seems like way too much effort, and Sara Lee isn't bad. It will be really good with the berry compote I am sure!
Sometimes I do bacon and shaved parm but we always have croutons. I don't want to get Ann too spoiled. She would expect the bacon every time and I"m not doing that LOL.
Tonight I made chicken creole soup but I used barley instead of rice. It was just as delicious.
I cook a pound of bacon at a time, and then store the leftover bacon in a ziplock in the frig for future use. Might as well cook it all at once rather than 4-6 strips at a time.
Tonight was ribeye steak sandwiches with sauteed red bell pepper, mushrooms, and caramelized onions.

I made braised lamb shanks yesterday. Today I separated all of the meat from the bones, fat and integument. Chopped up the meat and will use it with/in a bowl of yellow rice, freshly steamed broccoli, chopped Kalamata olive and feta, with a side of humus and pita chips. Will have lots of planned-overs.

I made omelets with diced ham, green peppers and tiny diced potatoes all sauteed and then I folded some cheddar cheese into them. So good.
Last night I just made some pasta with chopped tomatoes as a sauce. Today's lunch for work is some sandwiches with deli meat, all free from a grocery store visit yesterday. I have a decent amount of store visits at the weekend that will give me my whole monthly grocery budget in reimbursements in one day, so tonight I'll do some meal planning and write some shopping lists!

I have no idea what this is called but it's pretty good. I put 4 chicken thighs (boneless and skinless) in the small crock pot. Then I put a spoonful of chopped garlic, 1/2 a chopped bell pepper and a handful of thinly sliced onion. I added half a can of chipotle hot sauce and let it cook several hours. When I came back to it it was done but I thought the hot sauce was too spicy. I shredded the chicken and I had about 1/3 of a bar of cream cheese in the fridge and on a whim I threw it in. I'm eating it over chicken flavored rice. The cream cheese really smoothed out the spice and made it rich and delicious. Creamy chipotle chicken? Maybe.
I had Maple Dijon chicken drumsticks in the slow cooker. You put 8 skinless drumsticks in the slow cooker. Then in a bowl, mix 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1/4 cup Dijon mustard, 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 3/4 tsp garlic salt (I used garlic powder and sprinkled in some salt) and some ground pepper. Pour over chicken and cook on high for 4 hours. The meat just falls over the bone. Had it with roasted potatoes. I bought some green beans to mix in with the potatoes but I don't know what happened to them. *scratches head*
Anyway, I learned a neat trick to taking off the skin on chicken. Grasp the chicken using paper towels when pulling the skin off. The paper towel grips the skin so it doesn't slide around in your hand and it comes right off. Sooo easy.

Spaghetti finished in the oven with a small amount of cream cheese and sour cream in the sauce with salad and french bread. The sauce was more creamy and delicious.
Had lunch with a shopper buddy (not a shop) at Uncle Julio's. Leftover enchiladas and beans for supper. I have a supply of guacamole and chips on hand. I really needed a Tex-Mex fix, lol.

Last night's hotel shop required both a room service dinner order (which I only needed to taste) for one and dinner in the dining room for one. The first provided two salmon filet, each large enough for a meal IMHO. I will freeze those for future use. From the dining room meal, I brought home a large hunk of medium rare, very tender beef. Tonight I will have that with steamed veg and baked potato and a little red wine. And, not notes or pictures will be taken during THIS dinner.

Homemade flatbread pizzas. I buy roasted garlic Naan bread to use. I am putting red bell pepper, fresh tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, red onion, goat cheese, mozzarella and parmesan on mine. Hubby will do tomato sauce, mushrooms, green olives and pepperoni with mozzarella on his. I only wish I had fresh basil and oregano to put on, but my herb garden did not survive inside this winter. Dried herbs will have to do.
Went out to dinner with the kids last night. Had a very mediocre BLT salad. It takes more than bacon to make a good salad. Tonight I think I'll make lasagne. I haven't made it in years and the spouse loves it. I have to make it because she can't stand ricotta cheese. So having it in a restaurant is not something she would ever do.
Yummy l"planned overs;" cheese and beef enchiladas with refried beans, a side of guacamole, chips.

I bought some great peaches once along with a whole bunch of other stuff that was on sale, including frozen meats, etc. The grocery bagger had put the peaches in a bag with some frozen items and when I got home, my husband threw the frozen stuff, bags and all, into the chest freezer in the garage. I found them a few months later, LOL.
