A quick run for wine, a few groceries and a great pizza carryout sale. I will freeze pizza in meal-sized portions for quick dinners when I am not moved to culinary chores.

Work. More of hubby's little adventure. Sort something, clean something, and go to bed early.

Well, today I'm getting tested AGAIN for Covid 19. Got tested end of May and it was negative. But I want to go up to NC and see my grandbabies, and to do that, my son has listed all these protocols I have to meet to be able to go up there and visit! So as long as this test comes back negative, along with all the other stuff, I'll probably go up and see them for a few days next week. Haven't seen them since February!! BTW, here in SC, the SCDHEC is sponsoring ALL these no-cost/no prescription needed clinics everywhere for testing, so that's real good.
Got up early for a bike ride before temperatures got too hot. Back home, morning stuff, laundry, baking off some kabocha squash to have ready in freezer for quick snacks. Leaving shortly to pick up a large set of Census forms from a nursing home. Will have to check for accuracy before I leave the premises. Since they will not let me do that inside the building, I hope they're in good shape so I don't have to be out in my car too long.

guysmom, how long did it take to get test results? Some in SC are waiting 10-14 days.
If they’re testing so they can be cleared to return to work, or visit family like you, it’s frustrating since they basically have to self-quarantine while waiting.

I agree.

Oldest Son and DIL are new parents (our first granddaughter is almost two months old). We asked them a couple of weeks ago what it would take for them to feel safe so we could come for a visit. They replied that they're not comfortable with us coming to Dallas right now.

That is a toughie, Kathy and guysmom. We still sometimes schedule gigs near mil but to date, we have not visited with her. It is still worth the trip (6-8 hours round trip) because one of these days, the situation might permit a visit.

I am learning my phone. My last three were Samsung, so the transition was easy. Not so much with LG.

Tomorrow is Sports Day at work. Time to break out the Eagles' gear!

Today was a technologically challenged day. My Echo Auto would not connect to my car's BLuetooth. Password resets at work. Minor phone issues.

Work at early job. Fortunately, do not need a mask for my tasks (i stay in the car). For this job I need gloves, which have been out of stock in stores and online. Today, we are going out of town and while there, we will resume the search for "my" gloves. I will call instead of going into stores to search.

Mert, the first time I got tested, I got results in 48 hours. This time, it's a different lab and they said if I'm positive, I will get a phone call in 4-5 days. If not, I'll get a letter. Well, a letter from DHEC could take who knows how long??? So my son and I have agreed that since I have never had any symptoms, and was negative the first time, and am basically quarantining myself (& hubby is too) until I go up there, that if I don't get a phone call by next Monday evening, that we have agreed that I can go up to visit. So, hopefully, no phone call by Monday evening and away I will go!
Well, since I'm basically self-quaranting for several days so that I can go up and see my son, DIL and beautiful 2 grandbabies, I've been spending LOTS AND LOTS of hours with an old XP computer with SP2 on it, playing with it and getting it back up to snuff. I had to clean up and remove tons of files. I learned that in order for my USB PnP printer to work on it, the XP has to be SP3. So I downloaded that on my laptop and transferred it to my XP via a flash drive. Got that up and going. Then I downloaded the complete drivers for my printer and installed that onto my XP, and then installed the actual printer, and voila! My printer is working great on it. I also found 2 browsers that still support XP, those being K-Meleon and MyPal, so that will help reduce any security issues by going online with an older OS like XP. I also got Avast free running and have Malwarebytes on it that I need to run. I've had many errors over the past 2 days, but have learned so much about XP and how it works. Finding lots of errors and researching them and fixing them really helps me learn what makes XP tick. It's been fun for me because I enjoy this sort of thing.

I remember when I got my first computer in 1993, I would literally stay up until 2 in the morning just clicking and opening any and every file I could, just to see what would happen and how it connected to other files or programs. Then I would go to bed and get back up at 6:30 am to get my then-5 year old up and ready and take him to school. But it helped me not be afraid of clicking on files. It has served me well over the years in tackling computer problems, and I have learned a whole lot.

XP? I didn't know that was still supported.

My first PC had Windows 3.1. It had 32MB memory!

I've done my best at cleaning an old Toshiba Windows 7. A few years ago, I had to get a new OS to do business. I'm going to donate the old Win 7. Still miss Toshiba.
My Toshiba got sticky keys a few years after the warranty ran out. I use it as a back up.

Work. Look for disposable gloves. Work on projects-- but try not to inflame a wrist or a back. Choose the next book and enjoy it! smiling smiley

Due to a heat advisory my scheduled plans got cancelled. Hubby is out of town, so for the first time in months I'm checking the job boards trying to put together a tiny route of three or four shops for today. Realized I'm really rusty.

s-e-a,
last week I found boxes of 100 disposable gloves just by searching Amazon. Quick delivery. Medium size is about a woman' size 7-8, running tight for someone whose glove size is 81/2. These are food grade, and shaped for a good fit. I can easily pick up small items, etc.

You're right, Honny. It's not supported. Microsoft dropped support back in 2014!!! BUT....there are still actually millions of people who blissfully still use XP. But one has to be careful simply because it's not supported anymore, meaning Microsoft no longer has any types of security patches for it. So any software I install on it has to be supported by the software maker for XP. So I've got XP supported antivirus, anti-malware, anti-adware programs, and 2 browsers that still support XP with patches and updates and all. Now I am looking into VPNs that still support XP...there are several, who knew??? But, hey....it's a kick for me to do this, so I'm doing it!!

My go-to laptop, the one I use all the time, is a Windows 7 laptop. I know support by MS was dropped recently, but there are still quirks with Windows 8 & 10, though 10 is an improvement over 8. I'm not ready to switch yet. Apparently, lots of other folks aren't, either. Windows 7 is pretty popular. I just have to be careful with it, which I am.

I made my laundry list of household chores when I woke up this morning. I haven't done a single thing. After my shop reports, I put a lot of effort, I mean monumental, into finding a movie to watch.

Honny, I had exactly that kind of day yesterday.
Today I used a route planner to lay out my rote from the DC area to Thousand Islands International Park, avoiding Interstate highways entirely. I saw an interesting travel show about the area a couple of days ago. I am inspired to plan to escape the 100 F temps and high humidity. The crossing into Canada is, of course, closed at this time, but there will be plenty to see and do on the NY side of the border.

You took a day off? Good for you!!!!! smiling smiley Today, I watched a wonderful movie about finding one's way and one's values in life; they might just be inextricably linked. I had to stop it a few times and work on the massive project of the day. But I finished 98% of that, and with only a few winces, grimaces, groans, mild shrieks, and moans
