So what's new (besides an entire year)?

I am still on hiatus and will emerge if/when any of the assignments I applied for materializes. For now, i am hibernating. Spring is a good time for bears to forage and for me to do whatever work exists then.

I'm with you. I'm already looking forward to spring. Unfortunately, I have a full-time job that I have to drive to every day. sad smiley I can't even imagine doing a gas station audit in freezing and/or snowy conditions. I feel for those who do.

A little budgeting; a little work on items for schedules C and E; a nap; a little MS planning for the next 2 weeks.
I have 20 shops that can be done on any day of the month that the location is open, so it becomes a matter of finding other shops that will match up to make nice mini day routes. Also, making some day routes just out of those 20, of course.

Taking yet more things to the new condo, where I patched the holes left when I removed the old (single) closet rods and shelf in preparation for installing two levels.

Early job was actually early, which is the new normal again; hmm. Someone mentioned doing gas station audits and wintry weather in the same sentence. I shuddered then giggled when I read that and remembered... "It was a dark and stormy night..." It is amusing when Snoopy types that in the funny papers. It was just cold and yucky when I was working outdoors in those conditions.

Picking up chicken and doing Chop Stop for a wonderful salad to go....daughter and boyfriend arrive today at 3:00 (my house), preparing for visit...they will help me pack up dishes and take a painting daughter wants to UPSP for delivery to Chicago. plus whatever she wants.. Busy, haven't seen her since beginning of Sept.
Weather in the 60's, clear and what CA is known for, easy winters. Try and go to Reagan Library, and Santa Barbara over weekend. Dinner Sat. night with her Dad who will be meeting boyfriend for the first time.
Will be moving Jan. 9th.

I did a shop at Goodwill today. 2 pairs of jeans and an artsy purse for 50% off, and a panini pan for $4. Everything was fully reimbursed.

On another note, my GPS hates me and loves traffic circles.

I've had a cold for the past week. Yesterday it was about gone, but today came back with a vengeance....I should hang a bucket under my nose, it's running so much.

2 different grocery stores (not MS) drop off dry cleaning; pick up Rx, maybe some baking
All close to home, as are my shops for today.

Scrubbing the bathroom, doing some cooking for later in the week. Tomorrow I start a series of grueling shopping days so want things around here to require as little of me as possible. I hate eating take out. I like to eat healthy whole foods so I mostly have to cook for myself. I'm roasting an acorn squash and making a batch of chicken and pasta with a light lemon, thyme and garlic sauce. Also chopping a head of cabbage ahead of time so I can just quickly pan sear it and throw in some smoked sausage (chopped ahead), onion, and chicken broth. I have grocery shops tomorrow so will get the wife all the mashed potatoes and corn she could ever desire.
I chose my go-to brands for jeans, pants & blouses and will order them online as I [hopefully] get into smaller and smaller sizes. [Hmm. Would Smaller and Smallerer be a silly set of movies? Or not. Moving on now.] The prices will vary from full retail to clearance, and I made my peace with that. The difference between any mistakes here and the overall potentially lower thrift prices is the possibility to return with their label. I must eat the cost of non-refundable thrift mistakes and have called them 'unexpected donations'.

We were "supposed to" finish all errands an hour ago, but I had to take a nap after work. These naps make up for some of the six or so years of missed sleep. That is a lot of escapee zzzzzzzzz's! It leaves no time for ms and merch, but it makes me feel better and better. [Fear not I will not suggest Better and Betterer. haha.]

Hope you feel better soon!

Living at the shore in the winter means fighting off a bit of depression, so was delighted this morning to wake up to 50 degree weather. It was a little damp, but I took the opportunity to walk the few blocks to the beach and found a boatload of sea glass, shells and misc treasures to put into art projects. Also carried out 2 sacks of plastic and other crap that washed up on the beach.

Honny, I wish we had Goodwill shops around here. I work a few days a week at a thrift shop and it's my favorite one. We get a discount, but we often have half off the whole store days and that's when I have to watch myself or I'll spend my whole paycheck lol.

Irene, so glad your daughter is visiting and helping you pack up. Sounds like a busy time!

Kathy, hope you're feeling better!

Shopping the South Jersey Shore
I cleaned off my desk and donated codes from bottle caps from Coke that my neighbor gave me (she's not motivated enough to do it). It is kind of a pain to enter the codes online; it's much easier if someone will read them off while I enter, but hubby has a hard time seeing them and usually misses a letter or number and I have to start over again, so I just do it myself. I split up the donations between Children's Hospital and the local high school. It isn't much, but it does add up (and the neighbors drink a lot of soda). Going to Kohl's in a little while to spend my Kohl's cash and look on the clearance rack for stuff.
My daughter is the best.....last night I made dinner, and she went to work packing the good china my Mother left me (service for 16). This morning we took the boxes to UPS along with the paintings she wanted, and 1847 Rodgers Bros. Sterling Silver, along with Tomas Kinkaid "Lombard Street painting" which I couldn't fit in my car, and a couple others her Dad and I bought. Could not have done it without both of them, Michael was supportive and a great help. Today their doing their thing, showing him her favorite places in L.A. will return later for dinner and overnight. Tomorrow it's Santa Barbara brunch at Four Seasons (on me). Can't believe how content I am being with them both....will miss them when this is over. Have the rest of the day to myself, will look for a new comforter and sheet set. My daughter always says. "Mom, absence makes the heart grow fonder"

I got to my first shop prior to the start time. I went to a nearby thrift store and browsed. I had no intentions of buying anything, I just wanted to pass time.

Then I went into the book section. I browsed and saw a former favorite that was on sale for $1.49.

Yesterday, had breakfast at home. Drove to the Mall for Auntie Anne's and Jamba Juice for lunch. Afternoon, still staying at the mall for Panda Express for snack. Then ordered dinner to go curbside from BJ's. All shopped. Today, resting my tummy at home.
Your tummy had quite a day!

I skipped church today. Instead. I'm laying in bed watching Lifetime movies.

I'm off to spiritual gathering, satsang, and then a route of grocery shops which will provide a weeks worth of free groceries. But right now I'm eating eggs to jump start my poor old bod with some protein.
Yesterday, I accomplished numerous little goals. Thus, I deserve to binge on Acorn TV today. Go me.

Never made it to Kohl's yesterday so I have to go today as the Kohl's cash expires tonight.

Cleaning the kitchen and master bathroom. That's all I can muster up the energy to do!
Today I am taking my middle school daughter to buy a couple pair of shoes. I'm not looking forward to it, as she wears women's size 11 and they are hard to find and usually expensive.
