What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I had 2 interviews this morning for an internet shopping giant. Both were virtual. The first interview, the guy showed up but had technical difficulties. The second interview went extremely well.

Wow, I hope you don't have COVID-19. According to an article I read in the Atlantic: "COVID-19 is, in many ways, proving to be a disease of uncertainty. According to a new study from Italy, some 43 percent of people with the virus have no symptoms. Among those who do develop symptoms, it is common to feel sick in uncomfortable but familiar ways—congestion, fever, aches, and general malaise."

Thank you. I have had this before, years ago. It is unrelated. So I will repeat what I posted earlier: this is a known thing and no one should spend time on wondering about covid.

Meanwhile, I am perking back up right on schedule (the worst lasts about a day), and have cleaned up most of the mess. The mattress cover is permanently stained on the side (I missed the puke bucket in the dark) but that is the only real damage. Can you say, night lights will protect your mattress covers?

I also found a new-to-me Britcom, so I am all about that now. grinning smiley

That's awesome Wales!
Good luck Honny!
I am binge watching Tournament of Champions. I don't know how I missed a cooking competition show, but I never heard of it until talking to my remote about food shows LOL. It's a cool show and has a lot of my favorite chefs from several other competition shows.

I just watched the finale yesterday. Was a lot of fun, even though my favorite chef didn’t win.

This describes my allergy symptoms which are in full force now. I did not get a flu shot for years because of these symptoms.

Worked a little, laundry, gave the chickens corn on cob, worked on the budget. Talked to my son to strategize on his finances. His unexpected windfall of unemployment plus the extra through the stimulus will make it possible for him to pay off some debt (he was a restaurant worker).
Honny, me too. My loratadine just isn't working very well and I am allergic to everything. UGH.
I have allergies to pollen, and the pollen count is 10 out of 10 around here! I am using the generic flo-nase and the generic Claritin, which keep it under control. I did a pharmacy innovations shop today and was able to pick up (within reimbursement!) a "starter pack" of 10 capsules of something called Natural D-Hist. It's got Vitamin C, Quercetin, Stinging Nettles, Bromelain and something called N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine in it. I guess I'll try it and see what happens!
It took me 7 years to figure out that I have seasonal allergies year round. I take Claritan or Zyrtec year round to feel normal.

The flu-like aches that I get are in the sinus above my teeth. That's when I know that something bad is about to happen.

I'm watching Schitt's Creek on IMDB.

When my allergies first started, I was getting hot flashes. With everything combined, I thought I had the flu, so no flu shot.

Mine didn't either, Mert, but I was really glad to see this show and the variety of "cheftestants." I love how it was blind judging as I think that's how a lot of big names keep winning..the judges think they should. I can think of a million things that can be done to make things fairer, but alas, nobody care wtf I think lol.

Anyone else besides me and my husband think that "Beat Bobby Flay" is rigged? Like sometimes they will "let" his opponent win but the judges generally know which dish is his and pick him?
Yes JAS, I love Bobby Flay (have since he was on Grillin & Chillin in the 90s and I think it's rigged. Though there are a few winners besides Bobby, it's much more often that he wins and hey, we don't know which is better, but we for sure know which one is Bobby's. That's the one thing I think is cool about that show I just watched.

As promised, the usual: work, nap, and a project or three. For fun, there are six more episodes of Britcom and choosing the next book to read. I also need to choose what to plant in three small planters for the porch for summer. Hmm... I have two weeks to decide because a few straggler snow days are upcoming and there is no space indoors to keep the planters. There would be space if I had finished all the projects already, but we will not worry our ourselves about such trivia. grinning smiley

Trying to sort out the mess that Turbo Tax created when I tried to work on an amended return. Starting from scratch with a blank amendment form and trying to trace the source(s) of the screw-up they created.

Time out to take an Ebay sale to the shipping point and, since it is on the same parking lot, a stop at Aldi for staples.

Remember a couple of weeks ago when I was whining about a hole in my walking shoes? Back at Christmas time I had a specific pair of New Balance shoes on my list (chosen because they fit well in the store) that I didn't receive. Last week my DIL sent me a text with a link to a website where they were on clearance. It took me about two and a half minutes to pull out my charge card and order them!

Yesterday when I took the shoes out for a trial they rubbed my heels a little, but today they were good for an hour-long walk. The color would not be my first (or second, or third) choice, but they will do.

KathyG, that's bold to test drive a new pair of shoes for an hour.

I went for my walk today and stepped both feet into wet cement.

I did some yard work and Ann and I went to do a preliminary site inspection of a new possibility since we lost the last one. Then made dinner and now Im watching Survivor.
I walked to the Dollar Store and liquor store today. I like to do what my boyfriend calls "experiments" with different food stuffs and different liquors and since the $ Store had gummies 4/$1, I bought a whole case and a bottle of vodka. They are now marinating in the fridge and I still have about a cup of vodka left so maybe a martini is in my future..though I definitely prefer a gin one, I'm not one to pass up a nice cocktail. It was a delightful day today, I just wish they would have let us dip a toe into the ocean.

Yes, I was a little apprehensive when I left the house but it turned out well. Will YOU be looking for new shoes, too?

I don't need to say this again, do I? (Work, nap, and a project or three). Good.

Meanwhile, I found documentaries that I can watch. They are basically interesting but sharpy angled, and good overall to make staying at home tolerable. When I finish those, I can start in with the operas and the bard. It would be better to spread all this stuff over the span of a decade, not the span of the covid. Oh, well. At least I have them! Right?

I have no choice! I was listening to my book and not watching where I was going. Both feet sank in wet cement up to the middle of the shoe. YUK!

Today is bake a birthday cake for my twin sons who will be 47 on Friday. Their favorites are different--one loves fresh coconut cake, the other devil's food with peanut butter icing. We don't need two cakes around so I am making carrot cake with cream cheese icing.
