What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

I received an email confirming my order of a movie on Prime Video. It was an order I did not place. Thinking my account had been hacked, I contacted Amazon. Dude told me my smart TV ordered it. This kind of made sense because I was exploring some settings, but none were Prime.

....been there/done that....totally understand!!!
Guess I'll iron today...ugh. Such a boring task!! There is very little that I have to iron, but there are some shirts for hubby that need some light pressing after being washed. Many I can just hang up after taking out of the dryer, and I do. But some do need pressing. I think the count is up to 10 now....he's got LOTS of shirts so there is no need to iron them right away. So they've been on a hook in the washroom for, oh, about the last 5 or 6 washings that have included some of his shirts, going back to about 8 weeks ago up to last week.

I gazed upon the ironing board, standing on end and alone, and hung extra towels on it to keep it company.

More recently, I worked, napped, and worked on a project. I think this project is going to take months, not the one day that I originally estimated for it. The good news is that the next smaller sight is nigh, according to the tape measure. This is a good thing.

Did a job, paid bills while out of town, shopped at a fabric store, at lunch and went home. Was getting kinda hot and I was glad to get home to a/c and comfort.
My first day working second shift went smoothly. My day went by quickly. I took lunch at 4:30 and went for my walk. Traffic there and back was easy.

I spoke with my Mom and Dad yesterday. I know what my Dad wants for Fathers' Day. He wants a tech magazine. I had some trouble ordering it.

My basil plant is growing tall. My watermelon plants are acting funky. The tomato and cucumber plants are getting thicker.

Hony,
Watermelon plants want, and need, a huge amount of ground space. There is nothing compact about them. Maybe 9-14 sq ft per plant?

wales, my Mom said something similar. I have them in a 16" container. I thought they grew like tomatoes.

We'll see what happens.

Work. Enjoy sunrise. A few of the endless projects & tasks.

The hubby has a new, crazy-noisy phone. Gah! I am trying to teach him how to silence it.

This is what I am trying to decide. Going to physically distanced, out door grad. Staying in a hotel instead of with a houseful of people. Decided I have to venture into hair salon. And need to get oil change before trip.
Not feeling sure about reentering The World.

I just LOVE the aroma of fresh basil plants!! One year I grew several of them outside, and they got quite tall. You could just go out the back door and take a sniff....ummm!
Gyms opened in my area yesterday. After calling and finding out how many participants they will be allowing in each group exercise class (way too many, in my opinion) today I froze my membership. I will revisit the situation in 30 days.

I am having so much fun with my Echo devices! I even discovered that Alexa can read my Kindle books to me.

A few weeks back, I left a negative review for some kitchen tools I bought. After using them for a year and discovering how bad they were, my review was descriptive. The company emailed me an apology and offered to refund my purchase.

I wonder if my 93 year old blind aunt could learn to use Alexa. The old device from the CNIB does not work anymore.
While it is voice activated, she would need to enable skills from the Alexa Skills Store. I'm sure there is a way for the sight impaired to do that.

Errands, to include: Aldi for staples; Post Express to drop off an Amazon return package; local shelter to donate clothing and lots of hotel-size toiletries. Change bed linens. 1 load of laundry. Cook something for planned-over suppers.

Thanks. First, I am going to have to learn about it! A project I should have started in March!

Work. More of endless tasks, projects, and errands. Fun-ish new thing: make a route for tomorrow's work. For one day, we are doing a little bit of this and a little bit of that, and I am putting together the route. I like to put together the routes! My phone could do it faster, but I remember it more when I do it myself. Even if it is just for one day, I will have had a bit of fun [for a nerdy girl].

I got my Echo as a freebie when I signed up for Verizon. I wasn't familiar with it at all. I connected it to my Amazon account and weekly emails telling me what Alexa could do.

I have the device in the kitchen and use it for music and kitchen timers.

After I got the Dot, I started using a lot more features: alarm clock, reminders, reading my Kindle, listening to podcasts.

There is a store on Amazon dedicated to Alexa Skills. Enable the skill, and use it with Alexa.

Hope this helps!

Our 'good' mango tree is getting ripe almost a month early this year and the fruit is both prolific this year as well as heavenly with a non-fibrous texture like a good peach and a floral aroma and flavor that is lovely. Yesterday I made mango jam out of the undisturbed sections of a fruit a bird pecked but it lost the floral aroma and flavor. (It was good to baste some chicken I was baking, but on toast it is just sweet.)

Today I will harvest a half dozen fruits and try some other options for canning/preserving them because in the next week or two they will be coming too fast and furiously.
Time to teach your sons how to make mango jam ? You could have jam-making during your next supper get-together when you have more than you can deal with ?

Work. Nap. See about JCP clearance/liquidation sale which begins today. Think I will be near farmer's markets then, and (inspired by Flash who grows and preserves their own fresh fruit!) will look for something for us.

Definitely plan on teaching them to make preserves/jams. The were a bit exposed and fascinated last night when they came over for dinner and to help change a belt on the tractor. I need to find a recipe, though, that doesn't destroy the distinctive mango flavor. I'm going to try a version for peaches and see if that yields something other than just sweet.

Our household hazardous waste facilities are open again, so I made an appointment and dropped off a milk crate full of chemicals that we don't need anymore.

I went to Target to get my Dad's card. The remaining cards on the racks were either very crappy or had no envelopes. I got him a gift card at checkout and mailed everything from a nearby postoffice.

Yay! I got sale prices for needed items, wonderful books (free and paid), and a chance to see wide open spaces and critters. This was a welcome sight. Looking at projects upon projects upon projects at home is not what I need to see every day.....

I'm intrigued! I've never made jam, but how does the process affect or negate the aroma and flavor?

What other flavor is in mangos and peaches other than sweet?
