What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

In my area if you're a woman the ATV shops want a motorcycle rider on your license. That's never made sense to me, but I don't make the rules. Maybe I'll search them out and see if they're desperate. Good idea on the phone shops.

@Kathy: Just now, the ATV/UTV shops are being bonused. No negotiation, no purchase-- just gather info and report! I just saw some $15 no-purchase phone shops; you can probably get a bonus. What about going into nature and just enjoying whatever the scenery is?

My insomnia usually has me awake between 2 and 3am. I was so happy when I looked at my watch for the first time and saw 5:55am!

Wowza! Sleep! Woot! I woke up without an alarm at 12:20. Supplies are usually late on Saturdays, so I have time to play on the forum before the early job. The rest of the day is for work out and lots and lots of housework. Not thrilling, but useful.

Honny, the insomnia came to my house. Laid awake from 2 till 3:45. Didn't help that the cat took my awakeness as a sign that it was time to eat (it wasn't) and walked all over me for the last 45 minutes.

Work. A few tasks and a long nap before a job. I have not been there in more than a year, and I need to be awake...

LONG walk with Hubby to pick up the ingredients he needed to cook tonight's dinner. Beautiful, low 70s temperature with sunny skies.

No, This is what really happened. Work and then three more jobs which ended in the middle of the planned nap time. Then, I read that one uni group that uses part of the building in which I will work has been inflicted with covid-19. Now, they are to work and learn remotely and stay out of their own building. But what about the subgroup that sometimes works in "my" building? Hmm. I could send an e-mail or call, pleading covid-risk-discomfort-disorder (CDRD?) and stay home during my first scheduled shift. I could show up, be a smart-azz and point out this potential issue for the entire building. I could bring my own disinfectants, wear old clothes that can handle the onslaught of Lysol spray. Pfffffffft.

I will finish my movie "Witness for the Prosecution" today. Seemed really interesting.
Hope you finished watching "Witness for the Prosecution".... what did you think of the ending??? What a twist, huh? Tyrone Power and Marlene Dietrich were great in it. Hope you enjoyed it. It's one of my favorites.
@guysmom.. Oh I absolutely loved it! Loved the plot and performances. The print was really good too considering how old it was. I liked Charles Laughton too. Guysmom, do you have any other good recommendations. After a tiring day, I like curling up with a good thriller and a cup of tea.
Hah. Three lil' projects are gone. Forever! Later today, I take a few things back to storage and clear another space. Look out projects-- I know where you live, bwahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! grinning smiley

Getting ready to leave for my day of adventure. I planned it around a heavily bonused Five Guys in a part of town I never get to. Turns out that (thanks to Google) I know that there's a branch of the pet food store right around the corner from 5G and several thrift stores within a couple of miles. After the report and shopping are done I may take a bike ride...have my bike on the back of the car just in case.

Well, if you like old movies, and have cable or satellite with TCM as part of your package, then you have the availability of the TCM app for phone, PC, tablet or Roku. There are several movies on TCM that are good right now. "Laura" with Gene Tierney. "The Postman Always Rings Twice" (the original, with Lana Turner), "Double Indemnity" with Barbara Stanwyck & Fred McMurray, "Beyond a Reasonable Doubt" with Dana Andrews are good "film noir" movies. If you like the old political thrillers, they also have "All the King's Men" with Broderick Crawford available, along with "Fail Safe" with Henry Fonda, Walter Matthau and a very young Larry Hagman in it. If you don't have TCM, your local library may have some of these. Or there is a library app called "Hoopla" that you can use to sign up for and access many of these types of movies and stream them. Good luck and have fun!!

Love, love, love TCM for commercial-free, truly classic movies. I could watch "Laura" at least once a year and never tire of it. Same with "Now Voyager," and "Foreign Correspondent" and "The Lady Vanishes."

@guysmom Thanks! I have seen some of those movies. I will give the others a try. Love the old Black and Whites!
The day took a weird turn...during lunch I got a call from my Census supervisor asking if I was available to meet her to discuss next steps in project. Only got to visit one thrift store and bike went unused.

I watched a movie on Prime Video called "Closure." The movie was mediocre at best, but had so many great one liners! There were several times during the movie that I had to pause because I laughed so hard.

Work. We work six days per week now, not five (or seven, as we did for several years). This is a new and easy thing. Nice, long nap! Schedule more October assignments, including/especially the one day when we might be able to visit with mil for at least a few minutes. Have not received feedback from the new/old job that I returned to, so it is up to me to think about the three areas that I think need reflection or improvement. 1. Sometimes, voice flickers, crackles, or gets breathy (but does not sound sexy like a Marilyn Monroe, alas). I know the constantly smoky air is not helping, but still.! 2. There is an incentive to complete as many units of work as possible and there is a need to let some people talk for awhile before finding some way to cut them off. Are the mystery shopping respondents who do this marking us down for letting them babble as much as for stopping them? Are the real respondents annoyed or worse if they are not being heard? This does not appear in the job training. It does not happen often, but it slightly affects the hourly average for work completion on busy nights. 3. The busiest shifts are always at night. Most nights, I have to get up really early, as in after 2-3 hours of sleep after this job. When I did this for several years in the past, everything sort of piled up at home. I am only thirty seven hours away from getting everything back to a reasonable semblance of order there. But if I were not on the job and my back or wrist or something balked, I would not do anything else to earn money at home. I might as well go to work, if they will have me, eh?

Now, I am the only one who can rightfully patent my blah-blah as a soporific. But if I have helped anyone to overcome their insomnia, that would be a good thing.

Another Census meeting to receive final details for tomorrow's enumeration, then driving around with my co-lead to see the locations..

There was something I planned to do when I got home. While it was not critical, it was something I needed to get done tonight, as soon as I got home. I thought about this something throughout the day, and even planned out the steps.

I've been home for an hour and I cannot remember what this important something was.

@HonnyBrown..Happens to all of us.. I sometimes go to the kitchen or pantry and come back confused. Happens mostly when I have a lot happening at the same time.
I saw "Anatomy of a Murder" on Prime today. It was good but was disappointed by the end considering I spent two evenings watching it. Very long movie. No surprising plots or twists. I will give Closure a try and Laura suggested by guysmom.

I definitely had a lot going on today. I still can't remember what it was that I had to do.

There a a lot of search results for "Closure." The one I am referring to is the 2019 one. So funny!

For some reason, my LG phone will not pair with my Samsung mini speaker.

Mum,
When I lived in Michigan's UP my friend and I played pool often at the bar where the murder happened and some of the movie scenes were shot.

Work. More, still more, and omg is there more work?! Actually, it was not so bad. We filled in for someone who has work similar to ours. It is well arranged, but there are a few quirks, just as with our work. This filled the entire morning. Now, it is time to watch the final episode of 'Mr. and Mrs. Murder' and decide how much to mourn. I love the sly humor and erudite inroads into the threads of the mysteries. I do not love that the aunt and uncle were usually rude to their neice. The rudeness was... erm... puzzling. But the neice's/actresses' expressions were priceless, and she shone in the few sleuth scenes that were allotted to her.
