What are you doing today? (besides shopping)

The temperatures here are running between 102 and 105 with "feels like" temperatures of 109 and 110 with high humidity, so it's good to be inside. It's good to be at my office building working. I went out early to pick up lunch and came back to the cool air conditioning.

Picking up mulch and a prescription on the way to the grocery store. Making pasta sauce to use with cheese manicurist tonight. Still trying to nail down an appointment time when the plumber AND my housemates are all available ! (Since he will be in their personal spaces, they want to be present. )
ETA Most important of all, filing to get my mail-in ballot.

My glasses were a no go since Lenscrafters could not find the frames I wanted on their website. I forgot to put in my prescription. I am thawing shrimp out in my fridge, but taking my MS sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

Went on a late afternoon road trip in Hubby's new (to him) Prius. He drove over the Mississippi into Illinois. We stopped at a town that's on the historic register and walked around, then went a little farther north and had dinner at a dive-y bar. He let me drive the car home :-)

The plumber cometh, finally ! At least 3 of the 4 toilets need new mechanicals in the tank.

Work. Cook. (Haven't had a cooking day since... time immemorial?) Sort, clean, workout.

Hey KathyG! Don't know how "new" your hubby's Prius is, but something to keep on the back burner. I'm sure you must be aware of the special batteries they use. My son has a 2006 Prius, and the battery died about 2 years ago. Well, Toyota wanted to charge over $2200 to replace it!! My son's father in law told him to try a company called Green Bean Battery Co. Their online reviews are awesome, and so are they!! My son got a replacement battery for $1600, they came out to his residence and changed it out. Then about 3 months ago, one of the cells went bad, and they came out and replaced that free, as part of their warranty. You might want to keep the name of this company written down somewhere, or look it up and bookmark it. They really were great.
Well, a very close nephew of my husband passed away last Thursday. He lives in, and the funeral is in, a town in the upper part of NY State. Because we live in SC, our state is one of the states where, if you travel to NY State, you are required to quarantine for 14 days before going anywhere. Plus you have to fill out a bunch of paper work and have it ready to give to the people in charge at the airport or risk a fine of $2000. Well, needless to say, that left us out of attending the funeral. However, the funeral home has started live streaming their services. So here we are, at this very moment, watching it via YouTube on my ROKU. The actual service will start in a few minutes, but the live stream came on board a few minutes ago. How cool is this??? Thank you to that Funeral Home!!
Thanks for the information! He bought a 2014 model, so hopefully I can remember your information when he needs it. If nothing else, I will be able to retain that there are alternatives to the dealer.

@guysmom.. So sorry about your husband's nephew. Times are tough. My 87 year old nana is on her deathbed. It breaks my heart that I might never see her again now.

I did something drastic today. I got fed up of Facebook. I don't post anything. I just scroll through meaningless posts everyday from people who I don't even know anymore. I deleted the account. Well, one less password!
Took the cat to the vet for his rabies shot. Called when I arrived, then put the carrier on the porch and waited for someone to come get it. After the examination the vet called me to pass on the results (which were good). She told me the price, took my credit card information, then a couple of minutes later came out with the cat and all the paperwork.

Work. Nap. Workout. Sort something, clean something, and read something.

My garbage disposal broke and the reset button didn't work. That is not a DIY I want to tackle. I repotted my basil. Another watermelon is budding.

Work. More work. Nap. That is mandatory. If lucky, have something wonderful for lunch or dinner. It's all optional. We could choose to drive a little farther and go to a store closing sale and along the way, find something fabulous to eat. Or not.

Honny,
PM or call me if you want the name of a wonderful plumber.

Thanks wales! My former housemate is a great plumber. He told me what to use to unclog the drain and then try the reset. If that doesn't work, he'll come out and replace it.

Nothing fabulous to eat until I returned to my town. We tried a new-to-us burger place and loved it. Good choice. But on the way, we drove through the Great Smoky Mountains of NoCo. Hmm. If the wildfires continue and the haze increases, this could become a thing. Alternative travel, perhaps... Can't go to the more famous Smokies? No problem! Come to NoCo! *shudders* That is not a good thought about the future in a place where smoke usually dissipates fairly quickly.

I ran some errands then got my hair done. When I got home I washed dishes by hand (!) and put dinner in the crock pot. I *really* need to do laundry. Instead I will play games on my computer and watch movies on Lifetime.

Our dishwasher died 3 years ago, and I've been washing dishes by hand ever since. But since it's just hubby and me 99% of the time, it's no big deal.
Got in a short time ago from a special shindig for our Pastor. He has been at our small church for 23 years now, came in August 1997.(We've been there for the past 14 of those). Plus his birthday is in August, so every year we have a combo BD/Anniv meal at church for him. We had BBQ, Chicken tenders, pork & beans, potato salad, cole slaw, 3 bean salad, grape salad, banana pudding, oatmeal choc chip cookies, potato chips, canteloupe, watermelon, PLUS.....his birthday cake!! SO much food!! Everyone was able to take some home. We have enough for tomorrow's Sunday dinner!

No coronavirus where you live?
I am due for new kitchen appliances. The door sensor on my microwave thinks the door is open. I have to wash the dishes before loading the dishwasher. And my fridge is way too small. The stove is fine, but I want gas, not electric, so I have to figure that out. And I may as well get my floors done as well.

Honny,
If there is not already gas service to your unit, it may mean that there is no gas service to the building/entire community. That may be the place to start your search.

Work. Nap. ?

I should choose a project already! But I might read for awhile...

wales, some of my neighbors have gas but my unit is all electric. BGE has contract employees who can do a certied conversion. That is as far as I got.

It is going to be a tight project with no room for error.

Trying to decide if I need to find something else besides mystery shopping to bring in money :-(

We have that discussion. Should we, could we, what would we.... do... ?
