Arizona Senator Flake

BK was not in public. In many states it is legal in a private home for the consumption of alcohol at 16 or 17 if there is an adult present, which has not been established.
I would think long and hard if the same situation happened to your son, husband, brother or father. Someone comes forward, accuses one of the with sexual assault with no evidence, every witness she said was there denies and her best friend denies she remembers that they were ever at the same party let alone in a room. Then add she lived more than 10 miles away from the neighborhood she said it happened, not one of the witnesses lived in a house in the neighborhood she described. She didn't know how she got there, how she got home. She didn't report it to anyone for 30 years not even her best friend. Do you think they would just sit there and not defend themselves?
If this was on a episode of Law & Order and everyone wasn't defending their "team", first commercial everyone, Male or Female would be laughing and screaming "she is lying".

I don't know the specifics of these but citing Mother Jones for truth for anything is the same thing as citing Alex Jones for truth.
Okay, if you'd like, I can provide links to another five sites that have similar FACTS about the emails and other lies that he told under OATH. You probably didn't even bother opening and reading any of it since you have an arrogant, preconceived notion and have already made up your mind without researching anything further.
Find the truth and ask yourself, what does she have to gain by putting herself through this? She is a wealthy woman in her own right, a Dr. and Professor at Stanford.....please.

Other sites will copy the same erroneous information & distribute it so again this information can't be trusted. Repeating the same lie 100s of times isn't going to make it true either.
The rest of your statements are very rude. I did open and read the article and as I said I don't know I didn't know. But neither do you. To attack someone just because they don't agree with you isn't going to change their mind. Maybe find a different approach besides name calling & personal attacks.
$700K and counting is quite an incentive to have "recovered memories" and of course the satisfaction she destroyed a person with a R by their name.
@tstewart3, all people were asking for was an investigation into the accusations. And I believe, Dr. Ford's friend didn't deny the event, only saying she doesn't remember the event. She also says she believes Dr. Ford. The others may have different memories when being questioned by FBI agents vs. writing a statement on a piece of paper. If there is something there, the FBI will find it. I don't imagine BK is sleeping very well these days. I hate to see anyone get dragged through the mud, but I don't believe this is politically motivated. I believe Dr. Ford truly believes what she is saying, and couldn't stand the thought of the person that assaulted her to be seated on the supreme court of the land, so she had to speak out after keeping it mostly to herself for so long. (She has shared the story with others many years ago, BTW). So lets have the investigation. I hope it never happens to you, to me, or to any of my sons, but I think I have raised them right, so I'm not too worried. We will find out in a week or so, but I'll bet dollars to donuts BK is "inclined or encouraged" to drop out before any damning evidence comes to light and they try to fast rack a different nominee before the mid-terms.

I think you should go back and reread thee actual statement of the best friend again.
The accuser said did not share her "story" until 30 years after the alleged event. But then again there is conflicting evidence about that too.
Well, 30 years after the event would have been 6 years ago.

And if you think 30 years is a long time to wait before coming forward, ask one of the children assaulted by their priest why they waited so long to speak. Remember, Dr. Ford was 15 at the time she said this happened.

One has nothing to do with the other and to punish a person for bad acts of others is wrong. Follow the evidence, for me, there is no compelling evidence and follow the money which is plenty of incentive.
How is the victims of priests waiting 30 years to tell their stories different than a woman who was assaulted taking that long to come forward? The only difference I see is the vast majority of the victims of priest were boys.

As some type of proof you offered an opinion piece from Fox and one story of an innocent man accused of rape. The percentage of false accusations is low, certainly much lower than the 60% of assaults going unreported because of the way women are treated when they do report.

Right now you have no moral high ground when accusing the "left." You have made up your mind. Meanwhile, the rest of us are waiting to see what information the investigation turns up. While the restrictions on the investigation are ludicrous, even the person who ordered the investigation deemed the alleged victim "credible."

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Women can hold on to abuse for many years without coming forward. Why? Many reasons including not wanting to "rock the boat", feeling humiliated, hoping to just forget. I held it in because I did not want to cause my family any pain. After 25 years, with the urging of a therapist, I finally told the story. Guess what?? I was not believed since it was easier than believing that the "pillar of society" could also be preying on young and innocent girls. I felt so hurt since I had zero to gain by telling this ugly story. So I identify a lot with her standing up and having to tell those events to people, when the majority will not believe her. If I was shown proof that she had accepted money from the Democratic party that may color my opinion but as far as I know she had nothing to gain, except speaking the truth, to that committee.
Some go fund me pages were set up by friends because she had to move twice and hire security. I read that she has since locked them so that no more donations can be made because (i assume) she didn't need more money for those purposes.

Just a thought, could the Judge have had so much beer, he forgot what he did.....his credibility is destroyed.

Saw this editorial cartoon from the Halifax (Nova Scotia) Chronical Herald. Pretty powerful stuff. I warn you, you may find this disturbing. I did.

Edit to remove the link. Too much. If you want to find it, you can. It's all over the inter-webs.

It is possible that one or more incidents occured. It is possible that her best efforts to piece together story or stories will never result in a credible presentation that could include prosection. She is not entitled to a particular outcome, such as prosecution of a particular person or persons. She may yet choose to have healing and transformation. The mistake is to name someone when there is no cause to do so and to use the associated process to gain attention, rile up other people, and to delay personal healing.
Was this politically motivated, in addition to the other mentioned benefits?

She has three options: blame endlessly, apologize for causing a scene, or "do the work", which is a Byron Katie phrase. We all have these three options when we make an original or compounding mistake. I will do some work now.

I think that Brett Kavanaugh was in his genotype way, shouting down the absolute wrongness of her approach. Sometimes, it is the only effective and legal method.

On a more musical note, who remembers Beverly Sills as the character who was was calm?

You are just pissing me off with the insinuation that women who possibly have a legitimate complaint are loony and have gone mad. You have no idea what the truth is, so just stop it.

Interesting. She and you, the entire Congress, and even the FBI do not know what truth of the alleged incident is.

Possibly having a legitimate complaint is neither permission nor license to blame anyone publicly for what may never be known.

It is loony to do so because it enables blaming and other techniques for avoiding the healing process. Study Byrom Katie's work and other resources, if you would like an oppotunity to move beyond your anger.

The polygraph asked two questions and neither had to do with the incident. I believe she was assaulted, but I'm not convinced it was Kavanaugh. Who leaked the letter? Why didn't her attorneys tell her about the offer for private testimony at her home? She said she did not want this to be public. Why did she contact a major news organization? She can not remember any details, including some from August, one month prior. She lived 7 miles from the house. She can't remember how she got there or how she got home or who she called to take her home. She can't remember whose house, what day, who was there. I understand about trauma, but not able to remember any details at all is sketchy to me. The report from Rachel Mitchell provides discrepancies as well. There is no statute of limitations in the state where the incident occurred. Why doesn't she press charges?

The man's life was been changed forever at this point. He will not be teaching at Harvard any longer. He will not be coaching youth sports any longer. His family requires protection due to threats. How much more needs to happen to the man and his family to satisfy those who think it's not enough. What happened to innocent until proven guilty? How many would respond in a similar way in a public hearing at the first opportunity to stand up for themselves after waiting for 10 days?

Should he be on the Supreme Court? What would happen if all current Supremes would have investigations going back 3-4 decades? Would any of them pass that test?

The Judicial Committee did their job and voted. Now it is up to the Senate. Contact your Senators and let them know how you feel.

Where is the outrage on the slush fund paid by taxpayers to pay off sexual harassment claims on members of Congress? Why is it not the right of the taxpayers to see the list?
Did you watch his testimony, trying to pass off "Devil's Triangle" as a drinking game and "Boofed" as a reference to flatulance? Puhlease. Oh, and he and the team were all "Renate Alumnus" and he claims to have been a virgin? Riiiight.

Were any of them questioned under oath, and if so, did they repeatedly lie through their teeth? If so, which SCJs did this? None that I can recall. If they had investigations that uncovered things about them that were unsavory, would they repeatedly lie under oath or would they take responsibility for their less-than-honorable actions?

Brett Kavanaugh LIED under oath multiple times about various things, and not just during that particular questioning. There are incidences of him doing this before in past decades. He does not deserve to be on the Supreme Court.

Many are born and keep their integrity throughout their life's, yes young age brings on immaturity and actions we should outgrow. But sexual abuse and laughing about it shows a discord in your makeup, being 18 doesn't give you a right to abuse....fun is different. Everyone can change their ways if they want to and get help. Being a Judge and bragging about how you still love beer seems a bit immature (should have left that out), although it was one of the things he didn't lie about. I do feel for him and his family, but would have had more respect if he owned up to "maybe" I did it, I just don't remember (at the least). Protesting too much is a giveaway and insisting
he NEVER passed out while drinking, no way Jose.
