1941's Murder by Invitation was not highly rated on IMDB, but the beginning and ending were excellent. Even back then, people had been trying to do away with their rich old relatives and sometimes going about it in a clumsy and foolish manner. This movie's main character, dragged to a competency hearing by youngsters who simply did not know which one was Shinola, quickly won over the assembled onlookers and the judge. Vinegar and apple pie, indeed. That was priceless! Fast forward to the ending, and how it seemed oddly like an unrelated prequel or foreshadowing of The Milagro Beanfield War... but only in retrospect to a first time viewer many years later...

Alternating Poirot and Marple. Just finished Murderville. Robbie Coltrane and all were excellent in that. The story unfolded at a comfortable pace, and at the end I felt comforted. My mom did not live that life, but if she had a similar experience she would have left behind a clue, or something, that would help someone later.

There is a very good series on Netflix called "Behind Her Eyes." The first few episodes make no sense but are actually laying a good foundation for the series.

I just found 'Finding Alice' on Acorn. It is sad, relatable (who can relate to searching for the 'fridge in the unfamiliar smart house on your first night there, considering that the designer/your partner just died and can't tell you anything?!) and intriguing. As Alice learns to live in her new-to-her smart house, she learns to live in the larger world without Harry. At the halfway point in the series. Alice is making slow but real progress through the family and legal tangles on the way to... whatever is next. It is time to watch more and find out what is next for Alice.....

Drama-Mystery-Thriller fans might check out a new series called Harry Wild. Jane Seymour is recently retired lit prof Harriet "Harry" Wild. Incorporating a few fave themes such as [useful but usually a pita] amateur sleuth, equally bright and crotchety ol' academic, family situations, and strong woman, this series will unfold with new episodes every Monday in April. I am watching the first episodes on Acorn. I do not know if this is available elsewhere. Any interested person could check into that.

There is a series of "Jesse Stone" made for TV movies starring Tom Selleck about 10-15 years ago that are pretty good.
Also, if you like the story of Anne Frank, watch the documentary "Corrie ten Boom: A Faith Undefeated" on Amazon Prime. There is a 1975 movie on Netflix that tells the story but it just follows the documentary, which is shorter and just as informative. The movie is only rated 3.9 on IMDB.com.

Don't laugh. Crown Lake is back for Season 3 on Tuesday, April 12. Anyone who did not live in a bubble might relate to this series about growing up and learning. The things we have to learn... oh, my!

I must say. Nostalgia tv is quite a little healing factor. To each his/her/their/its own, but I think everyone would agree that there is something for everyone, somewhere in the vast realms of Youtube.
So now I have a few network weekly movies. On now? 1982's Prime Suspect. Viewer comments range from sweet nostalgia to more stentorian calls for the media, the investigators, and all the rest of us to get it right. If we want to get the baddies, we must get the actual baddies. Let's not do to anyone what was done to Mike Farrell's character in this flick, eh?
I also wanted you to note the McDonald's commercial at the beginning. Who would not get off their gazunkus, skip a line, and sing a chorus? I will try to link to that... *hopskotches* dances on the sidewalk*

Peaky Blinders a BBC miniseries. I'm sorry it ended.
I've found that BBC has many series I'd bing watch including Sherlock and Downton Abbey.
Perhaps not BBC but "The Man from Snowy River: The McGregor tale", I'd recommend.
Just plan for 20-30 hours or more of watching for any of them once you're involved.
