Feedback on Measure Consumer Perspectives

Pay for MCP cell phone shops here is $15. IMHO Easy Peasy shops...I am in and out. When I can do those close by to home, they are great. If I have to travel, I only do them if I have other shops...Or if they bonus. Problem here is, the company they shop here is a good one to work for, so reps stay....and stay and stay. Last time I shopped one of these stores, the associate who helped me was someone who used to work at my local VZW store. She was a b.t.h at VZW but nice as can be at this place. She told me how much more relaxed and supported she felt than at VZW...Amazing how a good work environment can shape an employee's outlook and attitude. Not making excuses for poor customer service, just saying.

I just noticed that they now they cell phone shops with exit interviews. Has any one done any of these type shops. How detailed are the interviews. You must do seven in one hour, as customers exit the store.

Feedback would really be appreciated.
I haven't done....and I would be in deep do do if I had do 7 in an hour. Some of these stores don't get anywhere near that amount of traffic. I know, it sounds odd, but I have been at locations where no customer was there when I got there, no one came in when I was "shopping" for 20 minutes and no one came in while I was taking the required photo. 20-30 minutes and I was the only customer!!! I know that doesn't answer your question. Just saying.

Exit Interviews are one of the shops I would never do, even with huge bonus. There is something about it that makes me think of the potential of being spotted. Just me. And it's one shop I would not try even once. I salute the shoppers who do it. They should get a hero citation.
Have to agree with you here on the traffic!

I went through the list of locations they want exit interviews on - no way do they get 7 people in an hour!

I spent two solid weeks visiting these locations and doing photo audits. The mall kiosk - possibly - but the store in the mall? No way. That location was not even by an anchor store! Some of the photo audits I did if I went at night the store was busy and I may have luck getting exit interviews. Weekends possibly too; but if you plan on doing them during "business hours" on weekdays, I think that may run into problems.

I have mixed reactions on this company. Like most of the larger companies within the industry, you have fantastic assignments to choose from, and even greater personalities within the administrative and scheduling ranks.

However, the downside is that with a larger company, you get those larger-to-life egos that convey their will through their emails and phone calls. Quite tersely, in that manner. Its too bad that a few schedulers that act nasty represent the company in this way. Makes you think.

My impression on MCP is kind of like a Clint Eastwood movie: "The Good, The Bad, and the really Friggin' Ugly."
Yeah, and what the hell are you supposed to do while you are waiting? The stores here are stand alone or in a small strip. Talk about standing out like a sore thumb. If this are non-reveals, another reason for me to say "no thank you." I would be spotted in 10 minutes. In two cases, since it is their property, they could ask me to leave.
If you read the blurb on the exit interview shops it does state "UP to 7 interview" and it also states that you will have a Letter of Authorization so that would cover you if the store mgr. comes out to ask what you are doing.

Even so, I wouldn't do them since I would like to be eligible for the regular cell phone shops and doing the exit interviews would definitely blow your cover.
If it is UP to 7 and I would have a letter of authorization, I might consider. I have done my local stores so often...and no one transfers! I have shopped the same woman more than once!
Jersey - I went back and read it again. It also says in the fine print that if you have shopped this store in the last 6 mos., you are ineligible.
Thanks for the input. I did not even think that once you do the exit interview, you would not be eligible to go back and do the regular cell phone shop for this company, or even another one, as you would certainly be spotted.

Well, there you have it. No exit interviews for me.
Thanks!!!!
Yeah I was going to do it until I read that if you have done a cell shop there within whatever you are not eligible. Other than that , if you have the time, I believe you get paid for an hour $!9 whether or not you have customers to interview. I would do them if I was not doing the same cell shops.
not nearly as good paywise as the shops themselves (at least in my part of the world) but...I can't do several of them even when the rotation allows me to. Just so many times I can face the same rep with the same story. LOL
jersey - Have you done the shps with the same rep? I was wondering about whether we can do that after our rotation period is up.
I have had nothing but good experiences with this company. I do shops for them daily and am paid super-quickly. I saw back a few posts about the shop disappearing from the log- that happened to me too, but it was a system error. I emailed the scheduler and she popped the shops back on there for me. My very first shop for them was bonused after I completed it because "I did a good job". I had never heard of that happening before! And, when they make mistakes, they are good for them. They forgot to put in a question in the shop form on that shop, and emailed me after the fact asking me to call up the store I shopped and ask the question, and *paid* me for the extra work, without my having to ask. I realize that this should be standard business practice and nothing special, but given the experience we've all had with "bad" companies, I wanted to put out there that this one really does make an honest effort to do right. I'm sorry to all of you who have had bad experiences, but I hope that those are just isolated. I cannot speak more highly of MCP.
I put in for the exit polls - several of them in one day all in about the same area - see it in my application folder but not in my assignment folder....
and time is growing short?

Has anybody been assigned the phone exit shops already?

I'm currently doing restaurant exit polls, one shift 3 days in a row -not so bad -
except the last hour your legs begin to ache from standing - but the pay is excellent and I kinda like the whole thing.

Wish more had exit polls. smiling smiley

Meanwhile, has anybody been assigned MCP phone exit poll as of right now ?
Hi all,
I just started doing shops again for MCP after a long break. Prior to my recent experience, I'd only done one or two for them. I don't think there was any negative reason for that, just availability of shops I wanted.

So, I signed up for the cell phone shops even though they only pay $12, which is below my minimum. I figured that there are so many of these shops that are close to each other, and actually within walking distance (I live in a big city), that the low fee was acceptable. I could hoof it from one to another fairly quickly and get a bunch done in an afternoon. Plus they looked easy. I was right. I've done about eight or nine of them in a short amount of time.

Now,as far as the exit interviews at the same stores, there is no way in hell I would even consider standing in one spot for a full hour for only $19. I could make more money by doing 2 or 3 $15 shops for other MSCs in that amount of time. I could sit at home in my pajamas and do at least four or five phone shops in an hour and make $40 to $50 or more. If I only had to stand someplece to interview people for 20-30 minutes, I'd do it - but not an hour. Pay me $60 and I'm your girl.

So, I've done a few of these cell phone shops and a few other shops for different clients of theirs. So far, I have no complaints about MCP other than the low fees. All the schedulers are easy to work with and the reports aren't too bad.

Yes, at least twice. Once, the rep did not seem to recognize me at all. (She may have, but not let on; however, I don't think so). Another time, I rep ACTED like she recognized me. She grabbed her handy-dandy check list, went through everything like a robot, whispered to a co-worker and then said "Oh, we also have D...TV, I almost forgot to tell you that," and then told me what she had told me..."we discussed the phones, I explained the rate plan, I told you about accessories, I explained D...TV and our internet....did I leave out anything.???" I really wanted to laugh. Or cry. The scheduler wants me to do these shops every time the rotation says it is ok...but it's hinky.

Oh, I think I mentioned this elsewhere. I did one of these shops in another town. The sales associate looked VERY familiar. Turns out she sold me a phone when she worked at VZW. She was a little b.t.h at VZW but not at this place.

I've done a number of shops with them and was paid timely. Nice easy shops.

However, I was scheduled to do a shop today, and I received an email from the scheduler telling me the shop was cancelled. If I did the shop, I would not get paid. The client did not want any more shops completed in the area.

This email came in at 10:05am this morning.

Glad I didn't go out this morning as originally planned, and was thinking of doing this shop this afternoon.

This is really not enough notice. Is this a standard practice with MCP?
Fluffy Cat

seems to be standard or getting to be. One days notice seems lucky.

Apparently they now have so many shops they are outsourcing to another scheduling
company and that company is not using the people signed up with MCP. I think they may have their own bunch of people they are using. Too bad.

Welcome to the Forum Unfortunately, this type of thing does happen. I have read of shoppers reading their guidelines in the morning, going out to do their shops, and coming home to an email saying the shop was cancelled. I got a similar email once but the scheduler said she'd pay for the shop anyway. Seems it is common for the shopper NOT to be paid. All of which riles me up.
A few updates to the exit interview program:

- There were 100 test shops done in April, then 2500 locations done in May (also will be done in June and July)
- They have changed it, if you did a shop at a location you CAN do the exit interview, but not the other way around.
- It's 7 surveys or one hour, whichever comes first
- The shop pays $12 and the exit interviews $20, so many shoppers have opted to do the $20 exits (x 3 months) instead of the shops.

I just did my first cell phone shop for Measure CP. For some reason I have always avoided cell phone shops. It was one of the easiest shops I have ever done. I also like the $13 shopper fee and 2 minute survey.
They're great! I've done a number of cellular phone shops for them. Easy shops, and timely payments. I can't wait to do more!
I have a question for exit interviews. A little late, I know, however, I have been getting offers of doing the interviews and the way it reads it's either 7 interviews or one hour of work. If you get the 7 interviews before the hour's up you can leave. I don't think I'd mind doing it if it's an either or situation since the money's pretty good.
It is an either/or. You do not submit more than 7. If you get 7 in 20 minutes, you can leave. If you don't, you stay a full hour. At the end of the hour, regardless of how few you have, you leave.
what time of the month does MCP send out their pay?
Shopping - I got paid for my Shops completed & submitted by April 15th - on May 10th. Deposited into Paypal.

I went back through my records and all of my PP deposits are on the 10th - 12th for the previous month.

Yes good MSC. I have not read all the above posts but they go out of their way with shoppers and now do not ding you if you have to cancel and tell you that. Only wish more MSCs/ schedulers would get on this reasonable bandwagon. Hope that I am not being redundant, but we need to support the good ones and not get hysterical if you have a little glitch now and then.
