...What does that have to do with anything?

Just like every other MSC.

Second to None, like other MSCs, is very clear that if they need clarification, you must respond within a certain timeframe. STN gives you 12 hours. All their shop instructions clearly state that you must be available to answer clarification requests after a shop. It's also listed on their FAQ page.

I'm sorry your shops was rejected and you didn't receive payment. Hopefully you don't give up on mystery shopping completely; next time, you can read the MSC's policies and guidelines ahead of time so you know what to expect.

"We must have a response to any clarification email within 12 hours of it being sent. If we do not receive a response then your report may be rejected due to lack of necessary information."

I've done hundreds of shops for STN, with a few dust-ups. While they hold identification of editors and management close to the vest, communication with the scheduler is the only avenue. Building that relationship has worked for me.
Second To None is an excellent company. Their shops are easy and they pay on time once a month by direct deposit.

My experience with them is they paid me even when shops did not occur.
Oh, with that one, you don't ask what comes on your "build your own" sub. You first hesitate and state you don't know what you want and see if they suggest anything, then you ask about one of the sandwiches on the board (what comes on it), then you order your "CYO" (create your own sub).

It's definitely a requirement. There is a question concerning the bake on the bread.

Never had a problem with them, and the sandwiches are usually yummy.
I DIDN'T ASK FOR MINE TO BE TOASTED, AND THEY REJECTED MY report. I didn't know it was mandatory, and they even emailed me asking why i didn't toast it. I'm like I got a tuna sub, how gross would that be!!!

The sub shop isn't a place a go anyway and wont plan on going back. I was mad that i didnt'get paid for a crappy sub, but ah well. You live you learn.
Did you ask for it NOT to be toasted? They toast all their subs and checking for the toasted part is very clear in the guidelines.

The toasted tuna sub is delicious. It's like a tuna melt.
Second to none scheduler really needs to learn to read responses to her plea for shoppers. More than once I have replied with the city and state only to have Stacy respond oh what city?

I love their toasted subs. It is definitely mandatory to have it toasted, because you must be able to check for the famous bake of the sandwich, which requires the top of the bread to be toasted and crisp, cheese melted, corners of the bread brown and tips of the bread black. If you don't have your sandwich toasted, you won't be able to describe whether the sandwich shop met the bake requirements.

Did my first sub shop at the end of June, picked it up with a $30 bonus for that day.

Oh lordy - that sub was SO GOOD! Pumpkin seeds, new lettuce, turkey, cheese, onion, Yummmmmm.... That got me hooked now. I don't care if I only meet the reimbursement, I found those subs better than the other sub shop.

Makes a perfect lunch for me when I go out on a route!

As far as STN - Stacy has been my scheduler also, and I've always have a good response from her. She is usually the one who ends up assigning me a bunch of shops in this area at the end of the month, and with a few dollars extra bonus.

Second to None has two different sub shops, one that always gets toasted and one that the employees ASK if you want it toasted. I think you might have shopped the one that they ask, correct?

Every post that I've read is talking about the other sub shop, maybe because the other one seems to have a very regular shop schedule. I've done both and on the TRAIN one, they specifically DO NOT want you to have it toasted because it will make the time too long. You still have to answer the question about whether or not you had it toasted. The answer should be "no".

I will add here that I very much enjoy shopping for Second To None so far, they seem extremely fair to me, and pay on the dot.
