second to none, stay away from them.

They in fact never contacted me and I tried to contact them. I have to send them a threat and they send back saying that they are going in inactive my account. They pay so poorly and they have a form that is so long and the form always never lets you sumbit it since it always has errors on there end.

I've never had a problem with them.

Many shop forms, for many companies, will not permit you to submit a shop that has errors or blanks. Nothing new there. You cannot get paid for an unsubmitted shop, by any company. So what is the problem that you want us to understand?

Best Mark, Market Force, Second to None, Troy Dolan,
I too disagree. Second-to-None is a good company and I have never had a problem submitting their forms.
Second to None is one of my most profitable MSCs. I will agree that their report is tedious, especially having to click "n/a" and write "n/a" in the boxes over and over again, but once you get used to it it's not bad.

And any MSC will reject your shop, and possibly deactivate you, if you don't respond to their requests for clarification. Did you check your email and voicemail frequently in the days following the shop?
I did a bunch of shops for STN this year (before the major client decided to suspend MS for the time being) and I never had a problem with them. I had to remember to submit my reports using IE (site doesn't work so well with Firefox) but that was the only problem I ever had.
Ruh roh. It sounds like the OP has problems with some other companies as well.

Yes, STN's reports with all the N/A can be a bit tedious. On the other hand, when they bonus, they can bonus well. Any problems I've encountered with them have always been resolved to my satisfaction. In the last few months I've had a couple of strange issues, a bad address and an employee the client claimed did not work at the location. Both times I was able to speak with someone on the phone and the previously rejected shops were reinstated. It really is hard to ask for much more than accessible, reasonable employees, and payments that are always on time.

STN is one of my favorite companies to work with. So is BestMark. I think the problem might be on the OP's end.
STN forms are fast to enter, once you get the hang of them. Yes, lots of N/As, but I highlight the first N/A and then paste subsequent ones. They have interesting shops and I have shopped for them for over 7 years and always been paid timely. One of my top 10 msc.

Rarely, a report error needing clarification will not generate an email. Even if it does not, it shows up on the site. That's only happened once to me. It was years ago, and I stumbled across it. I replied, and saved the shop. I have been told that anything on the shopper's hub is considered "published" and may not be communicated otherwise. I have done countless shops for STN. They are responsive and their payments are spot-on time.

mnairus, don't burn bridges. Take a few days, weeks or months. Then, rethink. They are a good company.
Good evening,

No problems to speak of, I like STN. One scheduler keeps posting this one $5. shop, it is close to me, and I love the donuts so I will do it. I did it once a month for a couple of months and now the scheduler says it is every 60 days. However, the scheduler keeps posting and no one ever takes it. I have decided, I am not going to apply for a $5. assignment since one manager tells me this shop is done twice a month per shopper and the scheduler says once every 60 days. Sometimes I will do a job for near to nothing if the scheduler can't get anyone, basically because the company treats me well, pays on time and will work a problem out. However, I guess this scheduler just doesn't want 'me' to do it. So no problem, I will not do that again.

Savana - I got the same thing on the donut shop this last time. During the summer I did the same shop, I think, each time it was posted. It may be a new rule regarding the 60 day rotation. If the Scheduler posts again I may email and ask if he wants to waive the 60-day rotation. You may want to do the same. I don't think $5 is enough but the report is fairly easy and I, too, like the donuts.
The only problem I ever had was non-pay for a shop that I forgot to ask one of the required questions. That was definitely my fault. They have always been a good company for me. I like the fact that they pay for one of the shop types even if the agent does not show up. They have always paid on time.

I did check my emails and I did not have one email from STN and I also did not ont voicemail from them either. I even emailed them numerous times about the problems. On a previous similiar shop a person there admitted to me that there software was the problem. The complaint that I have is that they rejected the report and they never even told me that the report was rejected. They lied.
STN has reimbursed me many times for lunches I would have purchased anyway. I think their surveys are easy although a little tedious. They pay on time as promised.

They are not the easiest group to work with.....I always tense up a little when I shop for them as they seem to look for reasons......
I have never had any problems with them. I have completed some nicely bonused shops for them.

I'm sorry to hear of your difficulties. Second to none has paid quickly on the shops I have done for them
STN was the first company I ever shopped for. It's NOT one of my favorites, but I still shop with them on occasion. When I started, I shopped a grocery chain that's HQed in their home state of Michigan. The report was 80-90 questions and I would sometimes get these URGENT requests for clarification after I submitted them. Each and every time I got the request for more info, the info that was being requested was in the report that I had already submitted.

As if the frustration of being asked for information already provided wasn't enough, I found the editors of STN to be very condescending when they sent me an email. Frankly, I often found their tone to be offensive.

I now shop the same Michigan based grocery store for another MSC. The pay is better and the reports are shorter. I've MSed for a few years now and this is the ONLY instance I can cite of a shop paying better than it did when I first started.

In my opinion, it boils down to respecting the work that shoppers do. STN gets very low marks from me in the respect department. Still, when the bonuses get high enough, I shop for them because they've always paid when they said they would.
I have no issues with second to none except I notice that the big chain I used to do for them is dwindling down and a lot less shops. Not sure what is going on. it is my favorite one to do. Hoping this is not a sign that they are losing them that would be a bummer. I can't find to many other good ones in NC. Most of them are fast food that only reimburse..blah
You probably have not signed up with enough companies if you are not finding many shops in your area. I'd say most shoppers are registered with 100 to 150 and some are hitting 200 plus.

It's $10.00, not $5.00 and it's ONE of my most favorite shops. Delicious donuts! That's (5+5 Reimb.)
Did their toasty sub shops jump ship? My husband and son loved it when I brought those home.
I liked those toasty sub shops, too! I like the subs, but I *loved* the huge bonuses I got on a couple of remote locations this past Summer! I was wondering about them, too!

I think Second To None is a good company to work with. You know exactly what is required, they always pay on time, and their schedulers are kind, helpful and reply promptly.
STN pays on time and they generally have a lot of work in my area, but I have to agree with the comments about the low pay. They are worse than Market Force in that respect, IMHO, but I will say that they do bonus pretty well, and pretty quickly - they don't let their shops marinate on their site as long as some companies do. I have never had a report rejected by them, either...
I love STN...Never had one single problem with them.
They can be low paying if you don't have a method for requesting shops.
They do have a couple of shops on my ten foot pole list. They also have some relatively high-paying shops in my area. In fact, thanks for putting a new post on this thread. I need to go check their sitegrinning smiley
