Coyle payments

Has anybody received payment from Coyle for their May shops yet? Usually Coyle is very good about paying on the 20th for the shops in the previous month, but I haven't received payment from yet.

They say between the 20th-25th of month. So, they will have time today. That said...lol...I was JUST wondering myself. Did seem a bit strange to me. I'm owed for my hotel shop.
No, I haven't been paid for May yet either. Also, usually new monthly shops are posted for them by now. Looks like there aren't many there - maybe July is a slow month for them...
I was wondering how hotel shops are reimbursed. Do you have to wait for an entire month for all hotel charges or do they reverse the charges for the hotel stay and then pay you in a month your fee?
My hotel charges were reversed about a week after report was graded. Fee and other expenses (cash) were paid on their normal schedule.
Thank you so much for the reply. There are a couple of 5 star resorts in my area that I would like to apply for. They require several meals and spa. I'm thinking it could easily run $1500+, quite a bit of money to be tied up for a month. =) A week, not too bad.
As a warning, the last hotel I did for Coyle the hotel said they could not reverse the charges, and Coyle told me after the fact that I would have to be reimbursed that along with the rest of the reimbursements a month later (as an aside - they still have not paid it and we've already passed the June 25 payment date). It does not say anywhere on the hotel guidelines on the website that this could happen, so I was pretty upset about that. I'm more upset about how they have handled things since, but that's off topic.
Well, I received half of my shop payment and some of my out-of-pocket expenses for the hotel. I was assured I would receive the rest on July 3rd, but that has come and gone with no payment and no contact. I e-mailed yesterday about it again and am still waiting on a response.
I know. I have never had a problem with Coyle in the past, and I have shopped for them extensively. I'm hoping it's a one-time fluke, but I'm not really too keen to risk it again in the future.
I have had two situations with Coyle where I was supposed to have hotels reversed and for whatever reason that could not happen and several emails later they ended up just paypaling me the difference. However, in both cases I did not have to wait the amount of time that you are talking about. I wonder if they are waiting until they collect the money from the hotel? Was the hotel one that was out of the country (both cases that I had, this was the case)?

My guess - not knowing the situation - is that this is a bad timing situation. Not saying this is RIGHT - but sounds like they found out too late that the hotel could not reimburse you to make the June payment run, so now its been put into the July payment chunk. Again, just my guess...
Nope, I got a partial payment and was told I would receive the rest last week, but it never showed up. Hotel was in the US. I'm not worried about being paid - I'm sure they will come, through. I'm just disappointed with how it's been handled, and I feel they have been rather disorganized lately.
I would be disappointed as well in your shoes. Sorry you are having that experience. While I concur that they will eventually pay - I would be shocked otherwise - that still does not negate the frustration and extra time and effort that goes into having to "remind" them of what you are owed.
Like Mickey, I have had two occasions where the hotel charges could not be reversed after after the report was submitted. One was here in the US and the other was outside of the country. Like you, I was disappointed....well, more like angry that I wasn't informed in advance.

My advice would be to call if you are not getting a reply to your email. I concur that you will get this payment eventually, but it's also important to let them know it's unacceptable to not meet promised deadlines.

Believe me, they would have no compunction about threatening to disqualify your report if you did not meet their deadlines. I have always been extremely vocal when something was amiss with my assignments and it (seemingly) has never impacted my ability get the best assignments.
I got a reply to stand by while they checked with the person in charge of payments. Will let everyone know how it turns out.

It wasn't so much the non-reversal of the fees that made me angry at first, it was the attitude of the person who informed me. She acted like it was no big deal when she informed me via e-mail and then did not bother to respond to my e-mail asking what the time frame would be for payment on that portion since I had not been informed that such a large outlay would be happening. I only finally heard back when I contacted support directly about the incorrect amount of payment after I was paid the partial amount the following month. Then she did not respond to my e-mail again this time about not getting paid until I e-mailed support again.

I do think it's important to note to cutiebear, however, that this makes at least three people who have shopped Coyle and did not have the hotel charges reversed on the credit card as advertised so it is important to be comfortable that may happen to you if you decide to shop a Coyle hotel in the future.

Thank you thrillaamygdala, I won't accept any assignments unless I can afford to wait. I have two dining shops this weekend that equal over $300 and budgeted those in, as going into savings. I hope your situation gets resolved soon.
My advice to anyone considering hotels is not to take anything you can't wait a month or two with the charges on your card...and don't take anything where you would be in serious financial trouble if you had to pay for it yourself!

Things go wrong and it's not always your fault. I once got sick during a very expensive hotel evaluation and had to go to the hospital. I somehow managed to finish the evaluation and fly home the next day (against the doctor's orders to fly home immediately and seek medical attention), but it has left me aware that no matter have good I am at this, I cannot always control the outcome.

MSCs are under no obligation to foot the bill for you if you do not deliver a report to their satisfaction, so be careful what you agree to....
Indeed. This has me thinking long and hard about working with them in the future. I felt they were very disorganized on this shop to begin with, and this level of disorganization afterward has me wondering what's going on in the company. I typically really enjoy shopping for Coyle as the people I typically work with are awesome, but their assignments take too much time and money to put up with shoddy administration. I suppose it could just be the rollover to the new website mucking things up, but I think I'll just lurk on the forums and make sure others continue to have good experiences for awhile before taking the plunge again.

Have payments been issued yet this month? I still have not been paid or received any information.
I haven't been paid yet this month...I'm thinking they will be issued on the 25th.
The update I received last week was that there was no update - the person is still waiting to hear back from someone else apparently. Haven't heard anything since. I guess I'll wait until after the 25th.
The first shop I did was paid 30 days later.

I just completed by third shop and received a score of 16. Wow! I thought this was my best submission yet. But they did not like that I used certain words too much and I forgot to time stamp the bathroom visits. VERY, VERY DETAILED! I am not sure these shops are worth it.
Has any one been paid yet for this month? I just checked my account. Nothing there.
