A Cirrus funny

I scheduled my first shop with them a few weeks ago. After seeing what was involved (a grocery shop) and reading on the boards about it taking four months to pay, I wrote them, cancelled based on the forum comments, told them that and sent them the link to that particular post.

Today, I got an email for the same shops and in all caps at the top -- "QUICKER PAYOUT." This goes to what I keep saying. We are the ones with the power. We can get minimum wage jobs without them. They can't keep clients without us. And that goes for every major MSC.

Quicker as in what -- three months vs. four? How about "YOU WON'T HAVE TO FIGHT TO BE PAID BY US ANYMORE!" There's a winner to get the shop picked up.
I guess I am lucky, as I have yet to shop for these companies that think it is okay to take longer than two months or 60 days to pay. That's too long for me to wait. (I wonder how they get any shoppers?)

They get you when you're new and don't know any better. Then you wait four months for your money after you have sent in your invoice twice and emailed and called. That was my experience a while ago. It seems from the posts that they're even taking longer to pay now. I don't believe for a second that they will pay any quicker. I won't shop for them. There are so many MSC's that pay in a month or less and pay more.

Yup, that's exactly it as that's what happened to me.

I have to say there's one blessing coming from having shopped for them. I read the post on video shopping, and it said something about starting out doing a lot of written shops in the industries that also do video, such as apartments. I did several apartment shops with them and scored really high (which I hope actually means something coming from them). It made me feel that, maybe, I could actually venture into video sometime (if I slow down enough to do some research on it).
I'm glad I came here and saw this thread. I am going to deactivate myself. I saw a job that sounded interesting but wanted to find out hw quickly they pay. Thanks for the honesty !
As a rule of thumb, if the company makes it difficult for you to figure out when they pay, assume there is a reason. I shop for a LOT of companies...and only for those who clearly state when I will get my money and follow through...
They are back up to the original pay here, for the shorter report. If it's slow in January I might give it them another chance. Can't be any worse than Freeman.

I find most of them tell you upfront to wait until you reach retirement age for your $15!

It is not like they lie - they tell you we will take a quarter of a year to pay you!

Freeman is out of business last time I heard. Slow pay is a symptom of a failing MSP. One that might go belly up just when your payment is pending. sad smiley

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Cirrus has been in business for a long time and has always paid extremely slow. They won't go out of business until shoppers refuse to work for them.
What's so hard about their payment schedule? It's clear: After the 15th of the fourth month after the month you've done the job after you send three invoices and two emails and when the moon is full.

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
DO NOT WORK FOR THEM.

They owe me a lot of money. They just stopped paying after a couple of months. Stopped working for the. They still are in business. I am surprised.
Another Cirrus funny -- they now have an outside company helping them with their scheduling (I've never seen that with them before). It amused me because (to me) it says they are having trouble scheduling their shops (gee, can't imagine why...).
I get so many emails from them for a chain of Hispanic grocery stores. I pass by all of these stores on a regular basis and would pick them up if they just paid decently and timely.
I did an <gigantic PITA furniture store> shop in August and still have not been paid. Not only was it the worst shop I have ever done, but to not get paid makes it even worse.

Moderator note: Oops! You forgot, and named a client of this MSC in your post. I've replaced the name with what seems to be a reasonably accurate description. smiling smiley Please be more careful in the future! Thanks!

I always get emails from an outside company from them--never from Cirrus directly. They're always for "fun and easy" apartment shops or the large box store that I wouldn't ever do for $45.00.

Also, the post above mentions the client so I think it should be edited by someone who knows how to do that.

I've done those unnamed furniture stores as well. However, I was getting $55 for them. I didn't know the pay had dropped to $45. What always seemed to be the hardest part of those shops was doing a customer pick up and then walking 20 feet to do an immediate return. It just became too much work- before I even went home to start the report!
I read the warnings on here and decided to do a grocery store shop for them anyways... just to see if my experience would be any different.

Shop was completed 8/5/2013 and I still have not been paid. I email them from time to time but I'm really looking at this as my own fault for doing work for a company that so many have had a bad experience with.

This is the only company I've worked for that has flaked on paying me. I sucks but I learned my lesson... if a company has a bad rep on this site then I'm not going to work for them.

Faster pay? I'll believe it when I see it. Also that shorter form? Still the same gigantic PITA shop. I'm done with them.
Wow. I hope you do get paid. I hope you update if you ever get paid.

One Busy Mama 559,

Stay away from them, after four months with out pay, you will need to hound them and it now becomes six month.

Small claims court is the next step.. Send an email to their invoice contact where you sent the invoice. Inform them if you do not receive payment within 24 hours into your Pay Pal account, you are filing with Small Claims...be sure to take copies of your inquires asking for pay with you to court.
Last time I did a shop for them they did not pay until you invoiced them. I actually liked doing the dreaded "PITA" shop. Back then, years ago, it paid $75. Can't believe it only pays $45 now.

I did finally get paid. Sent out emails to every email address I could find for them plus to every scheduler trying to assign work for them. Was paid within a few hours of clicking send. Took just under seven months to get paid.

"It's not THE way, it's just A way"
When starting, I did the Swedish furniture store, and for the 45.00 they paid, almost had a stroke...then waiting payment.
I swore never again, and 7 years later, held true. They are one of the worst, many threads written about them, and I thought everyone stopped working for them. They can also find anything wrong with report and not pay, way too many things can (and will go wrong). STAY AWAY, STAY FAR AWAY....

Live consciously....
