JMRidgeway and payment

I can't seem to find any info on this companies pay schedule. I worked with them in early December and several times since then. Does anyone know what their schedule is, please.
Thanks

I just completed a job and with no one responding I am a bit worried. I would like to hear what others have to say.
Thanks
I have performed two shops for this company on 5/3/13 and 6/21/13. It took 68 days to be paid for the first job and 41 days for the second job. I was paid by PayPal.

I think there were payment problems in the past. Email or call Ann Austin at aa@jmridgway.com or 650-965-8427.

Sounds like net 60 around the 28th of the month.

I have always been paid regularly. It usually is the middle of the month, 45-60 days after the end of the month in which you performed the shop. I have NOT always been paid at the same time of the month, it has always varied.
You have to wait 51 days and then can email them. They usually pay the same day you email.

No, it is not how it supposed work but it is what I go thru every month.
It takes 2 months with them. They don't email you your grade, you can log in to see if your shop was received.

Why exactly do you choose to continue to go through this every month? This was exactly my experience, so I no longer perform assignments for this company. I have no problem working for companies that take a long time to pay, as long as they pay according to their stated payment terms. Companies that require shoppers to "remind" them on *a regular basis* that payment is due either lack the organization to run their business efficiently OR it is deliberate (are they hoping the shopper "forgets" and they do not have to pay?) Either way, it is appallingly bad business and they lose my respect. I am particularly amazed at the payment history of this particular company which reminds shoppers that the company is "the oldest MS company still operating. " They also state in their guidelines, highlighted in colors, "Don't try to lie - you can't fool us." So....they can't be fooled and they are warning shoppers not to lie......but they can't remember to pay shoppers for their work? So....what's a shopper to do? No brainer, IMHO.
I only did 4 shops for this msc and every single time I had to remind them about paying. I did promptly receive an apology and a check within a few days. It was irritating to have to remind them everytime. This was 2 years ago, hopefully they have improved.
They have had payment issues in the past, which prompted me to only shop when the bonuses were good, and they do give good out here in the sticks. The payments are automatic now. No emails needed.
Ive never done a shop for this MSc without having to remind them about payment.
At least I only have to remind once...

Me too. I *used* to have to remind them for nearly every payment, after which they paid promptly. But for the last several payments ~ most of the last year, at least, I think ~ I've been paid, on time, with no reminder necessary. And the shops I've done for them are usually well-paying and often bonused ~ often quite nicely! I also like the scheduler I work with, and had some nice correspondence with the owner once, too.

That's funny that you would be the post right after mine. I thought about mentioning that you had mentioned a similar experience, but I was too lazy to find the old thread, and I didn't want to throw your name on something without having the link to the old thread. smiling smiley
The only reasons I put up with it are 1) They shop upscale grocery stores that I enjoy and would not normally shop in, 2) They get the payments to me quickly when I ask (usually within a few hours), 3) The stores are in resort areas I like to have an excuse to visit, and 4) Sometimes there are decent bonuses like the one today, which with the groceries came to $44. Oh, and I actually put this in my report because they ask--one of the stores carries extra large raw marrow bones at their butcher counter. I cannot get them where I live. So my dogs like me to shop there too! And yes, I will do anything for my dogs up to and including chasing down payments.
It would be lovely if Frank DID read the forum, see what shoppers really think, and correct the payment problems. A company that prides itself on being the oldest continuously operating MS company in the country should have a system to pay their shoppers without constant "reminders" from the shoppers. All week I've been getting multiple scheduler emails from this company advertising self assign shops ....... every day the same emails about the same shops. Even though there is massive competition in my area, they are not being grabbed.
Well, I did actually send him a link to another post on the forum about six weeks ago. So who knows. Maybe he took a look around.
I had to query about a bonus payment a few months back but aside from that the payemnts have been on time and correct. I did take a lonf break from them over payment issues a few years ago but I was pleased with the current payment schedule. (I will say they don't have many shops in my area.)

Here is the link to the contractor agreement which states that the payment schedule is 45 days after job completion. How payment comes in (bonuses and shops are paid separately). When, how and who to email if you need to inquire about payments for shops.

Hope this helps.

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!

But the payment problems have been resolved, at least for me. On time and without reminder for some time now.

I was reminded of this thread and dug it up to add that twice, now, they've paid me on time, without my even having to think about nudging them.
I've noticed, too, that they have finally seemed to have gotten their act together and are paying in a timely fashion w/o my having to email them a reminder.
