SEnd a certified letter for what?confused smileyconfused smiley Grades/rating ............they don't increase pay/fee. Sounds like rating only effects the types of shops. Don't sweat the small stuff.

This company I really loved until one day I don't know what happened? I had done many shops, always received 10's and I enjoyed the schedulers. I had a problem with one though, who told me I would not be paid due to "breach of contract." However, the error was not made by me, but by the associate who I was shopping and it was very cut and dry. I had to really fight to get the money for the shop and I spent money upfront as well. I finally was paid, but it all seemed to go downhill from there. I began to signup and have shops cancelled when I had already completed them. The last straw was applying for shops and my name being deleted from the site, when no other shopper received the shop either. The story is much longer, but it became very painful when I was not provided with an explanation for this and I realize I'm perhaps overly sensitive, but this hurt me a lot. I wondered why I could never get a simple explanation, but I finally gave up as it was upsetting me too much. I wish I could let this go, but it has been hard to do. I have been by and large quite successful in mystery shopping I rarely ever get below a nine rating and I work hard to do everything that is required and like everyone I take mystery shopping seriously and have pride in what I put my name on.

Any feedback for how to get over this would be greatly appreciated. I have to say all of you are so kind and helpful to share, it means a lot although I have been reluctant to share myself as I can be shy initially. It may be hard to believe in this line of work, but it is more of an initial reticence and not a long lasting one, so please bear with me. Thank you for all you've said on this site as each and everyone one of you has offered invaluable comments that helped me and I for one can't tell how much I appreciate it!

I promise to be more involved, I would feel terrible to not do so after asking for your help now. Although, I've never been to an AA meeting, it feels sort of similar to what I've imagined after viewing it on TV or movies, okay maybe that is a dumb
comment, forgive me if I am sounding nutty now! Thanks again.

Mod note: Edited only to fix some odd formatting that somehow got in here. (Hi, amiletogo! Welcome to posting, and we do hope to hear more from you.)
I haven't done a shop for Bare in awhile. My personal opinion of them is a bit low after spending a great deal of time on a special project where there was an extensive UNPAID training involved. Iwill not give details about that on a public forum.

I will say this, they are consistent in rejecting shops which are not performed during the window becaus the client is not flexible about it. I've had that happen to me once and felt the sting after spending the time to fill out the report.

Just know that if you are ever even a teeny tiny bit late getting into the post office, your report will be thrown out, so it's best to contact the scheduler to work it out and not bother yourself to go. :'( It is truely frustrating. :'(

Why would you attempt a shop outside of the clients hours, knowing it would get rejected? Why did n't you reschedule? A rejected shop is a NO pay shop and it has to be rescheduled and re-shopped. You know why you did not get paid, even while doing the shop. It was probably more frustrating to the MSC and the client, not to depend on you.

I have found that most MSC will reject or invalidate a shop performed outside of the window time. Apparently this was not your first shop for them because---->"they are consistent in rejecting shops........" It is not rock science to do something on time."winking smiley
"rock science?" I'm loving that!

Me too. Love "rock science". A new word coined and I'm going to start using it. Great!

I am glad I read everyone's postings. I did my first shop for BARE last week and put out my money for the job. I followed all the guidelines except a package was overweight by one pound but under cost of reimbursement. My problem with it is guidelines said what to pack. Also the package address was given to me and it was for a charity. If it was to help others I would assume more would be appreciated. A friend (also a mystery shopper) said it sounded like something was not right with the way the job sounded before I did it. I got an email within half an hour of completing shop saying I sent it to the wrong address (which I did not) and would I like to try again. I emailed back I put out $30 of my money plus the items I shipped to the correct address. I was told I could try again but I was not being reimburse because it was shipped one way not what was required. I followed scenario to the letter with person that was being shopped. The error was on their part. I also was assigned four more if these shops. Is this a scam? If I performed poorly why would I be assigned four more shops (which I canceled)?

Thirty dollars might not be a lot of money but for my family it is dinner for a week. I emailed my scheduler twice since asking about this and still have not gotten a response.

I am relatively new to mystery shopping (20-25 shops). My ratings have been mostly 10s.Has anyone ever experienced something similar or have any advice for me?
I have read the above posts and have to agree with most...... Bare is not only the first company I ever did a shop for, but can count on one hand with 4 fingers left over the number of issues that were out of the ordinary and even it was immediately resolved. Thank you Bare!!
Skip the emails. Bare includes in their job descriptions the phone numbers for their schedulers and project supervisors. Call and have a conversation. Present your explanation, listen to theirs. Have the material you followed to the letter open on your computer so that you can reference it in dialog.
I never completed a shop that was late and I followed the guidelines
to the letter, but the scheduler was notorious for not responding to my
emails. I spoke to someone and they told me I was one of their best
shoppers. I always was paid as I fought the battles and I was not in the
wrong. What I couldn't understand was not being allowed to complete
these shops anymore and having my applications deleted without any
type of explanation. After asking again I was told they had a rotation,
but that was never disclosed.
They do have one scheduler for the shipping shops that is absolutely HORRIBLE about replying to emails.

Never tried the non-profit shipping job, but have done the regular one many times without issue. Watch the weights very carefully, follow acceptable shop times, avoid gender-specific comments, and comment on all "Nos" and you should be fine. I agree though that they are sometimes late in assigning shops that I have applied for. In some cases. I "Bare-ly" had enough time to do the shop that was assigned on the day it was due rather than the day or two earlier when I applied for it.
Thanks, you made me laugh and that's important, silly and
funny too! Oh well, I guess it is an unsolved mystery and
I just have to grin an bare it, huh? I guess in my case you
apply some and they delete them all, so time to let it go.

Thank you for posting it helps take some weight off and
I appreciate it!
