Second to None -- rejected shop issue

Second to None may be legitimate, but I am very disappointed in them. They rejected a shop because I did not get the name of the person who called to schedule an in-home medical exam. They did not inform me that they rejected it. I had to find out by going on their website. While I understood that getting the name was a requirement, they should have a better sytem in place that if you forget to do something as minor as that, that you do not end up subjecting yourself to having someone come to your home to take blood and urine. I feel taken advantage of. I provided an excellent shop, with very detailed information about the examiner, that I guarantee they used, but I was not paid for my blood, sweat and tears. Literally.

Unfortunately while you may feel it was minor, for the client it may have been major. How are you sure the report was used? If the client requires that name, it is likely they would not accept a report where it was missing and the shop would have to be redone by another shopper.

Welcome to the Forum.
Very sorry that this happened to you. Unfortunately, it has happened to every one of us, and the best we can do is learn from it and be certain to never repeat our errors. The more pain experienced in the learning process, usually financial but in this case physical, the more likely we are to get it right next time.
Lisa's right in that the client would have rejected the incomplete report, and rather than lose the opportunity to get the shop done, StN would not have submitted the report to the client and simply moved swiftly to find another shopper. The only thing that would have prevented the literal pain of the in-home visit after the flubbed call would have been for you to call StN immediately after the call and inform them of the mistake. Once the report was submitted to StN, it was all too late, and they immediately moved on.
Hope you can, too.
I do think their website needs some adjustments. I too had a shop rejected, but I didn't know about it until I one day mistakenly clicked on Rejected Reports. You would think they could have an email automatically be sent to the shopper letting him know his report was rejected.

Another thing I don't like is that you have to continually check "N/A" or type in "N/A" for like 20+ questions on their survey. They should have it where if you check a certain answer, it will automatically check "N/A" for you, or even automatically delete the N/A questions.
I've gone on the record as stating S2N is one of my favorite MSCs. In that light, I would be very surprised if they rejected a shop without QA contacting the shopper with questions or requesting clarifications.

Actually STN does not always contact shoppers. They have a section called "Finalize Shops" and there is a subsection called "Needing Clarification." If QC has an issue the shop will be there. While an email would be nice, I have to admit having it right there on the website is helpful. Yes I have to check back until the shop is finalized, but it beats an email disappearing into cyberspace.

Then be surprised. This is the only MSC that's ever rejected one of my reports, and I only found out months later, after I inquired where my payment was.
In my case, they rejected the report and I was not contacted by email. However in going back with forth with them, I did at least have them cover the reimbursement of the required purchase. At that time, I had completely missed the fact that if they had any questions they would not contact you via email, only via a message on the website.

Interesting. Thanks for the (surprising) information!

I'm sorry to hear you are disappointed. And I do agree with elcarev68 - we've all made a mistake that invalidated a shop. In my case, I was out-of-pocket $12 plus the lost shop fee. But I sure learned from the mistake and hopefully I'll never make that mistake again.

Personally, I love shopping for STN. They were the first MSC I shopped for and I have found them to be great.

A few times the shop circumstances were very different from the STN description. But my scheduler helped me know how to report the variations since the answers didn't fit with the questions on the website. Afterwards, ,if there was still a question, I got an email notifying me of a need for clarifications. I clicked on the link in the email and it took me to their site to provide the answers.

It doesn't bother me to follow up on the status of each job. I track the status of each job for each MSC in my spreadsheet anyway. In the case of STN it doesn't get marked in my spreadsheet as ready for payment until I see it as "Accepted - Payment Pending" in the My Shop Invoices section. And until it makes it there, I check the website every day, just as I do with all MSC's. At least STN gets the report checked within a couple of days.
I recently had my first shop rejected FIVE weeks after it happened. I was never contacted about a question, they just stated the video showed a different number of people in line (off by 2 out of 12--I guess twoe people were together and only had one transaction and one stepped out of line just before I reached the counter) and off by the number of cashiers open. I can explain the confusion but they never even gave me a chance to do that. First there were two cashiers, one walked away but another started up. Then a third came along but only did limited transactions--no cash register. I stated there were three because it looked like the first one who had left was in the back finding an item. They said there were two. I lost $9 in personal charges besides the loss of fee. I have done over 30 of these shops and never had a problem. I was surprised I never got a chance to even discuss it and it took 5 weeks to tell me it had been rejected. That's my vent for the day.
Don't work for them anymore for the exact reasons stated in posts, and do not miss the aggravation.

Agreed with all the above. I stated in my shop report the employee wore no name tag. They messaged me back and rejected the shop anyway claiming I never contacted them . Over and done with this deceitful msc....
What I had/have a problem with is they wait over a week before they tell you if they're having a "problem" with photos submitted with assignments. Like I kept a box of donuts for a week?? Besides that, the rotation issue is another complaint. Other than that, they're an okay shop and pay well and on time.
I've only had a rejected shop issue with them once and they were gas station shops. Both gas stations were about 2 miles away from each other and they were confused about the time I arrived and left.
I used to do all of the gas station shops in my area every month but I turned 29 in April so I am now "too old" to complete them. I feel hollow. They were a part of my routes for so long.

Besides that, they pay like clockwork on the 15th of the following month.
The schedulers are beyond amazing!
I just wish they offered more shop sin my area.
