Thank you for chiming in; it did help. If I were and editor, I would resent it if I had to put more work into a report than the shopper did.

Oh good ole Intellishop. I love how their rep comes on here and proclaims over and over that they are required to answer every single email sent to them. I sent an email from the website Tuesday night. Did not have a response by this morning so I sent an email directly to their rep that supposedly is our go to person. Guess what. She hasn't answered her email yet either! Sofa king shocked. At this point it dates back to sometime last year since I sent an email to Intellishop that was actually answered.

I must be doing something right. I have done several shops for Intellishop and received a 10 on all, except for a 9 on one report. Apparently, they had to fix a grammatical error and gave me a 9.

George,

I would be curious to know do editors get paid by the hour or on a report basis? For instance, as you know shoppers get paid by the assignment, regardless of if it take us 10 mins or 30 mins if something crazy happens in the store, we get paid the same (plus time to get there, type reports, ect). Just a honest question I am curious about.

Also, specific to Intelli-Shop, if you are contact by an editor with questions does only that editor continue to work on your report or do could another editor then pick it up after you resubmit?

Thanks smiling smiley
seattleshop,

We get paid hourly. We don't always work on the same report, so if one of us sent a report back to the shopper for clarification there's no guarantee that the same proofer will receive that report. Also, we receive a handbook with certain score deductions, while not all proofers will follow the guidelines to the letter, it's generally what we base scores on. The proofers are only human and we do miss things and we've been trained differently through the years, so while we try to be consistent there will be a slight variance in how reports are handled.
Ok. Since you folks have been good enough to answer - I have a question about your company. It would be a nice touch if you could get me an answer. I am asking this simply because no one else I have emailed has been adult enough to respond.

What gives with the Mangled Pizza Shop?

1. Order a cheese only pizza.
2. Cut it up with an unsanitary box cutter.
3. Turn the slices on their side for pictures.

#4 Is the final insult-

4. This is a reimbursement only shop. The unsanitary result is the Shoppers pay?

Who is the Rocket Scientist that came up with this one?

TIA

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
My bet's on the pizza company. Who do you think came up with it?

Mary Davis Nowell. Based close to Fort Worth. Shopping Interstate 20 east and west, Interstate 35 north and south.
Who, I think it was IntShpProofer's idea. smiling smiley

I am sure it was the pizza company. I want to know why Intelli would put such a shop on us?

Not all editors are paid by the hour. Some companies pay editors a flat rate per shop, which can be as low as $2.00 per edited report. Something to keep in mind when wondering why editors don't write shoppers detailed paragraphs about where they can improve. They just aren't paid enough to do so.

The same reason why four other companies have tried to put it on us so far this calendar year.

Wow! Clearly, either you have never reviewed any of my reports for Intelli.......or else I've gotten a 10 on all reports you have reviewed. Kudos if you are giving that much feedback. I've never seen anything close to that from an Intelli editor. No feedback I have received has ever addressed the details of the report. Maybe they should make you a trainer or a lead worker.

ggeorge -
Way to go! Thanks for the constructively critical feedback that you are providing shoppers. I would second AustinMom's suggestion of getting you into some position of training for other editors.
Could you speak to preferred sentence structure? I recently got a report back from an Intelli-editor for clarification, requesting that, in response to a "no" answer, I directly state that associates were not engaged with customers when I entered the store, this after having opened my narrative by stating that there were no customers present when I entered the store. Receiving an 8 because I had to be contacted in order for such an inane clarification dismayed me far less than seeing what the editor had done to my narrative. It had been turned into a first grade reading primer.
E.g., "All surfaces throughout the store, including the floor, counters, and coolers, were clean and free of debris and stains," had been edited to read, "All surfaces were clean. The floor was clean. The counters were clean. The coolers were clean."
Is this the preferred writing style? If so, I can write this way at the outset, and probably a bit more quickly with practice.
I can string together bullet points. I can offer one detail at a time. I can dispense with narrative. See Spot run.
Please forgive any poorly concealed snark, ggeorge. It is not directed at you.
Thanks for any guidance you can offer.

The pizza shop is I'm sure, dictated by the pizza company. I've seen this same pizza shop (same guidelines/same company) with several different MSC's (4 at least) and they all have the same requirements.

It's a weird shop I agree.
ggeorge, I found the information that you provided was very helpful and enlightening. I rarely (once a year, tops!) do shops for IntelliShop because of the ONE time they deducted 2 points from an almost-perfect, time-consuming report that I responded to within five minutes.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of shoppers--me included--view IntelliShop as disrespectful due to their insultingly low shopper fees and for their relish to deduct from a shoppers's score. I feel it is truly an adversarial relationship, created by IntelliShop. It's so unnecessary. The good news is that IntelliShop can easily change it and, by doing so, attract more than beginning shoppers.

Good luck to you, ggeorge! smiling smiley

IntlShpProofer and ggeorge, thank you!. I appreciate editors taking the time to come on this forum to provide useful information and explaining the reasons why MSCs do or do not do certain things.

What does it mean when a shop is in received status but has no score or comments (even more so when then in like 2-3 days it has a score and comments?)

I always thought received meant that the shop is done, or does this just mean it has started a review process with an editor?

When I start a shop and save it (Without submitting) it shows Incomplete. Once I submit it and can no longer edit it, it shows Completed. Normally once a shop is graded, I receive an email with the details and the shop then goes to Received.

This case, the shop is Received (changed from completed that it showed earlier today) but no score and no comments.

I believe Received means the editor has started looking at it. The grade will then show up when it is done. Or if there is no grade, a payment line will appear under the posted fee.

Which suddenly defuses my anxiety and sometimes anger over a shop that was reported yesterday being reviewed sooner than a shop from last week. No more dread with wondering what was wrong with last week's report, and no more anger re. the earlier shop's payment being potentially delayed.
Thanks.
It bugs the heck out of me to see a shops I submitted sit there for several days before being reviewed when I had to sit up all night trying to get it completed within the 12-hour time frame after a full day of shops. Really? We're slamming energy drinks until 4:00 AM just to see our reports sit there for a week? Arrrrghh!
