Instant Replays Payment Delays

Actually, there is a method to the madness. I wasn't paid as promised, so I'll be adding my name to the NC DOJ complaint. Maybe I'll be the one to tip the DOJ into taking action. Of course, it would help if everyone who was owed money did the same thing.

Once again reminding everyone, that if you were ever paid late in the past by Mark Bray and Instant Replays (even if nothing is owed to you now) you can still file a complaint with the Department of Justice. There are many shoppers still owed and the complaint costs nothing to file - unlike small claims court. It's simple and takes about 10 minutes. We've got to stand up for ourselves. (It saddens me that we need so many complaints and that someone can get away with and continue wrong-doing by simply not responding)

Heard through the grapevine that Instant Replays and Mark Bray are again asking shoppers to work and promising to "be paid upon completion". Even if you are paid as promised (which is probably a pipe-dream) please remember that you are the very last in a long line of shoppers who are owed. It's not fair to those who came before you to be paid when they have never seen compensation. Again, if you have not been paid according to your IC Agreement by this company, please file a complaint with the NC Department of Justice website. It only takes 10 minutes and that's all you have to do! No other paperwork, no appearances. Super easy.

Now they are saying they will pay shoppers IN ADVANCE part of their shop fees and the rest paid upon shop acceptance.....oh boy....

I did a shop for Instant Replays in June this year. Sadly, I had not read the forum before and it was only recently, when I saw that I was not getting paid, that I found out about this thread.

The irony of it all is that I had never shopped with them before, and they reached out to me to ask me to sign up with them and do the shop!

Of course, I sent a couple of emails to Jan, but I did not get an answer.

I am about to file a complaint with the NC DOJ - but I wanted to double-check with people who have already filed the complaint - is it the consumer tab on the NC DOJ website? It would be the first time I file a complaint and I have no idea how to do so.

If I'm not mistaken didn't someone post a link at some point to add your name to the already long list of names on one complaint? I can't remember but perhaps someone else knows.

I would encourage any one that has been stiffed to fill out that form. Roy Cooper does not play.
Jan's phone number is 919.608.5389. I got my money by threatening to call the real estate agents that Bray had produced videos for that are posted on you tube, and tell them what kind of business man they are dealing with. Less that a week later I got my money, which was well over a thousand bucks. NC DOJ has been sitting on this for about a year now. Good luck....
I got mine by sending an email to Mark telling him that I knew he had been taken to small claims court and that he didn't show up because he knew he was going to lose so the shopper had gotten a default judgment. I then told him that unlike most shoppers I knew how to actually collect on a default judgment.

Had an apology and payment within a few hours.

I would no suggest this tactic unless you actually do know how to collect on a default judgment.

I think anyone owed money should write him NOW stating they will be mailing out letters to realstate agents as jayoldsun did above, along with letters to the people you did shops on and for. Actually anyone you can think of that would embarrass him and ruin him from staying in business. He has social media pages. Start posting notes to return your messages about payments. If everyone would all pull together this man could be put out of business and stopped from continuing to hire new victims.
Unfortunately I was JUST speaking to another shopper who did not receive pay for shops performed in November. Can't believe he's still doing any business at all! Does this never end?
My non payment is heading towards two years now! I have let the client I did work for know that Mark Bray did not pay me. They are looking into it and glad I let them know! He broke the contract first so I owe him nothing!

Just received a direct email asking me to do some video shops for instant-replays in my area.

They must be desperate if they are turning to me!
Did 4 shops in march of last year. Mark stopped returning messages in december.

Id not do any shops. Risky business.

I just got an email from Jan Bowles asking me to do some shops. She didn't even mention Instant Replays in the email. But, it does seem that they are still trying to drum up business. That is pretty sloppy. I've sent her plenty of emails about getting paid for work I did for them in April of 2015. I can't believe she would have the nerve to email asking me to do more. I desperately wish I could contact these clients to let them know who they are doing business with.
I should have taken the shop, told her to send me the camera and then held it as payment against my overdue payments.
New tactic: Mark Bray is still attempting shops. Now he is promising full pay up front and equal pay to a shopper owed. He also has a new "National Coordinator", so maybe Jan Bowles is gone now as well?
I just did 11 Assisted Living shops for Mark two weeks ago and was paid half of it today with the promise that within the week I will get my other half

So far I'm very pleased with Mark and I feel you need to give him another chance we all learn from our mistakes
Why would shoppers who did shops long before you did, and still not have been paid give him another chance? He may be paying you with the funds he should have used to pay them, since he certainly has not yet gotten paid by the client for your shops yet.

When I reach the point it takes threatening legal action to get paid, I'm done.

Now we are being told by a brand new member it is okay? A brand new member who was registered for 42 minutes and went through the trouble to dig up a month old thread which by my estimation would have dropped to page 6?

Also, why were you paid half today with a promise that you'd be paid the other half next week? What's the expected time frame for payment? If you're being paid early, then why aren't you being paid early for all of your work? The fact that you're being paid only for half with a "promise" that you'll get the rest doesn't sound like a confidence-inspiring professional business practice.

Hello, Moneynowee, did you read the post directly above yours? Mark has learned from his mistakes and is trying a new tactic. He is now promising full pay up front. It doesn't sound like you even got full pay up front!!!! And you are recommending to shoppers who were not paid that we give him another chance?
