The mystery shopping was just a small division of this company.

This means they are not declaring bankruptcy.
I would expect that all jobs completed and confirmed as accepted should be paid. I don't think they would want a stain like that on their reputation for moving in a different direction. I see no reason they won't pay all outstanding claims.
I didn't realize they had other divisions. What else do they do?

I did some shops for them in March for $100 in Gift Cards for their restaurants and another $40 for the retail store. I guess I might say goodbye to those stores/restaurants and to that amount.
And now we have to do more research to find out what MSC(s) will be shopping those places.
May be they lost the dessert restaurant and decided to close the mystery shopping division. Another major MS was doing some locations in March in order to use them for their proposal submission to the client.
I just did a shop with Grass Roots on Sunday. Today this message is on their website. What happen?

I was specifically talking about upper management. I never had any problem with the rank and file.

The company was always very nice to me. I was always paid promptly and with the exception of the one IT problem I had it seemed to be very well run from a shoppers point of view. They even went out of their way for me one time when one of the dessert restaurant employees emptied out my gift card by way of a huge tip. I did not find out until the next time months later when I tried to use the card I thought had around $30 on it and found it was empty. The msc reimbursed me with a new gift card. There are many reasons a company might go out of business. Hopefully they will send all the shoppers some sort of explanation or acknowledgement in the next few days. The rank and file staff may be just as shocked as we are.

I always love that "circumstances beyond our control" line of BS. What they really mean is, "We ran our business into the ground because we are a bunch of incompetent boobs."
Any hints on which one? I didn't see any shops with any of the companies I'm signed up with. I'd hate to lose this restaurant!

Maybe now those famous clients will end up with an MSC that pays cash to shop instead gift cards. It's not like they're going to give up MS'ing their locations because their MSC went out of business.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
I know people love those gift cards. To me they just mean my payment is devalued by two thirds.

Yep, I am out $100 in gift cards. Hard to believe they went out, I was with them and the prior firm since 2009. Hopefully someone here can add insight as to who "the dessert place" is going with!

Even though they have gone out of business the forum rules apply about mentioning a client. You can edit your post to remove the reference. At this point someone has also reported their FB page announced all remaining gift card payments were to be honored.

I wasn't crazy about the gift cards, but I still enjoyed the restaurant.

What I didn't like was the reloadable Visa for the Mickey store. I had thought it was like a gift card (meaning, you couldn't overdraw it). Then I accidentally overdrew it by .26 and Grassroots charged me $7.50 for a new card.

I won't miss Grassroots, but I will miss a couple of their clients.
Cool that the threads were combined. Weird that posts about them closing appear then posts from a month ago show up discussing an entirely different subject.

ATTENTION JACOB AND/OR MODERATORS:

This thread has now obviously been merged with 2 or 3 other threads on the same subject. I totally agree with merging the threads but is there a way to keep the posts in chronological order? Currently, posts started in February 9, 2015 are showing AFTER posts dated April 2, 2015. It could be real confusing to new forum members. Or add a note of some sort at the beginning of the thread saying that multiple threads on the same subject have been merged.
It appears to be back up now, but you have to re-register? Is anyone else seeing this or just me?
No. I only see the same message that other people have posted.

Let me know what you think, it looks like its the same company just a brand new layout. It is so odd though that they did not tell us about this, if it is the case..

I tried that link and it does not recognize my old user name and password. This is getting more and more bizarre by the moment.
Same here. It wouldn't accept my password, so I used the forgot password link and it didn't recognize my email.

Sorry but I am not clicking on a link from a new forum member with only 4 posts to their name. There have been way too many trolls lurking in the forum lately.
Same with me, it says nothing was found with that info.

Also, some of the other links that you click (like the clients they have) it does not come up either, so if it is a new site maybe it is not 100% up and running yet? It is very weird but hey, lets just hope that this is the new site they will work off of and they just failed miserably at communication it to us!
I am trying to register on the new website. It does not seem to recognize my postcode. That is the 5 digit zipcode they are requesting, right? Or am I missing something? I tried also entering the full 9 digit zip code with/out the dash in between the 5/6th digit. Nothing seems to work.
