I think part of the problem is that many of these American companies don't have Canadian schedulers for their Canadian jobs and seem lost when it comes to Canadian geography, even though the information is available online. It's not just Maritz who does this kind of thing, I've had other American companies sending me "close by" jobs that weren't even in my province and not seeming to be aware of the huge distance. I also see a lot of cases where MSP's are trying to schedule remote locations and don't seem to understand that their chances of scheduling for a paltry fee are almost none, let alone scheduling it at all unless they cultivate shoppers in that area or get creative in their approach (ex. if I wanted to schedule a shop in an area that has a sparse population and is going to be popular with hunters, I'd consider how best to reach the crowd that is going to those areas.)
