I am also in Canada and just got paid via PayPal. The MSC provided an extra .50 so I wasn't dinged with the fee. I was pretty impressed!

Regarding STN, I hope that requests to change payment method take effect before the payments for August shops are processed, which should be mid-September. There was no effective date on the Notice.
STN you have to be kidding- I just left them, and good riddance. Payday for September just came and went, and no pay for shadow!! When I called to inquire they tried to feed me some bull on how they didn't get any reciepts.

WHY WOULD I PUT THE RECEIPTS IN MY COMPUTER IF NOT BUT TO SEND THEM!!!!!

I was told I would have to wait until 10/15 to get my $$.

News flash: IF I don't see the $$ by 5PM on the 15th, to court we go(over 100.00)

I wouldn't work for them. They could have the best rate anywhere, but it means nothing if they forget when payday comes.
I haven't had a problem.I've received timely payments and also made sure my receipts were properly submitted and acknowledged at the time I entered my report.

I haven't had problems with receipts ever but other issues kept me from shopping them for years. Now that I am tentatively doing some shops for them very warily, things thus far seem ok. But I certainly would not lay out much on their behalf expecting reimbursement. That was my long fought battle with them before and I've learned. So perhaps $5 or $10 comes out of my pocket, but no $60-$100 stuff ever again.
2 things guys:


1) I didn't lay out over 100.00, that's what was promised in reinbursements.2 shops that are to pay in october are the wellcare shops @ 45 a piece. The September shops that they owe me are about 70-80 dollars.
(there's about 8 of them)
2) When I submitted the receipts, I did so in the portion of the report that asked me to. I NEVER got any emails telling me they didn't get them. If I did I would have sent copies to my contact.

You didn't mention it was multiple shops, multiple receipts. Hard to not have any of the receipts go through if you were monitoring the board. Best wishes on getting it all resolved.
Like I said, why bother to scan everything into the computer, if you have no intention of sending it over?

I have done secret shopping for over 5 years, and trust me, I am well aware of the receipt rule.

Everytime I entered a receipt, the screen showed me a pic of the receipt, stating that if the pic wasn't clear, there would be a delay in payment. The pic was clear, and I finished the report.

I never, at any time got any message stating that they didn't get the receipts.
I'm not doubting you, so you don't need to get defensive. As I mentioned before, I would not trust them for more than pocket change.
I know...like I said, sore subject. I just can't get over the fact that I was with them for 5+ years and this is how it ends. I never had a problem with them until this happened.

I was going to use the $$ to bring a sick animal to the vet. I am on a fixed income and that's why I worked all those assignments. No money means no vet.

I sometimes have to wonder just how much they realise they are playing with peoples lives.
Just some housekeeping here. Initially, there was uncertainty regarding when their fee for using PayPal would start. Their site now says: "Monthly payments via Direct Deposit are free to all shoppers. For shoppers selecting the convenience of PayPal, a processing fee of $1.00 is deducted from the total monthly payment. PayPal deduction will start on November 15, 2010."
I have been timely reimbursed substantially more than one hundred dollars in a given month.

Shadow, I'm sorry for your troubles. I have shopped off and on with STN for over three years and have no complaints. It's sad that your longstanding relationship has gone south. Having five years' experience with them, you probably know everything I'm about to say.

The STN site has more checks and balances than some other sites. Finalize Shops shows my Shops in Progress or Needing Clarification. File Shop Report lists Reports with Errors.

From personal experience, I had a shop whose receipt did not upload, despite having my submission show its image. I did not receive an email, and had not been on the site for a few days. If I had been, I would have seen on my home page in red letters, that I had a report with errors. It had been a busy month for me with STN, and a scheduler called me about the receipt, telling me my shop could not be accepted without it. I uploaded it again and asked for confirmation of receipt. The receipts crew emailed that it still had not come through, and gave me a different address to email with the attachment. The third time was the charm, and that report was put to bed.

Since that occurrence, following every shop I submit, I check Finalize Shops and File Shop Report until the shop is moved to My Assignments...My Report Archive. At that point, I know all is well.
Mine were all in the report archive. I had nothing pending or with errors.

I haven't a clue exactly what happen, but everything they decided not to pay me for was marked accepted, payment pending. There were no messages, there were no emails.

I think it's a case of an otherwise good company going bad. It's a shame we'll end up in small claims court should I not see my $$ on the 15th of October.

Very nice, very friendly, and good shops. Sadly, they no longer have much in my area. I've never heard anything bad about them. They just enhanced their website and it looks real nice. Don't neglect to check their emails and their website as some jobs are only on the web and some on the emails!

Oh I almost forgot, they were my very first shop!
