Maritz New Gas Station Limits

Yeah you are right, but I hopefully won't be losing any of mine, just going to try and space them out throughout the first two weeks of the month. Time to start looking for some new shops, or maybe it's just time for me to go back to nursing sad smiley

I think this is clearly the client concerned that concentration, efficiency and accuracy is put at risk during the second half of a 16 or 19 hour day. And the client would rather have two fresh, alert shoppers doing 8 jobs each than one shopper pushing to complete 16 jobs in 16 hours.

For what it is worth, the Maritz manual says the shop should take around 30-45 minutes to complete. Not a minimum of 45 minutes. I'm in agreement with those who say it takes 20-30 minutes per shop. I'm also in agreement that you get into a rhythm by doing repetitive shops. And to those of you who can do 20 shops per day, working 16 or more hours plus debriefing and do it 3 or 4 days in a row, you have my admiration. However, I don't think the client, who makes the rules, thinks it a workable plan.
@LIJake
This is what is in the manual:
Evaluations are expected to take
between 45 – 60 minutes. However, your first time completing this evaluation should take you closer to 60 – 90 minutes
to accurately familiarize yourself with the location and pay careful attention to evaluating the details. Any evaluation
taking less than 30 minutes will not be accepted for compensation. Any evaluation taking between 30 – 45 minutes will
be carefully scrutinized by MaritzCX.

I have done 40 minutes for small stores with no hot food and been asked why. I can explain it though.

@pegleg2000, I think you might be quoting guidelines for a different brand of gas station. The OP referenced the color blue. I think you may be talking about the color yellow.
@Sybil2 yes I am still talking about blue. Thanks. Yellow is about 30 minutes. I never get offered any in my area, I get offered ones that are a long distance from me. I use to love doing the yellow ones.
I think we are talking about 3 different shops. The blue shop with pictures of each pump says 30-45 minutes and is being done in 20-30. I can't find suggested minutes for the yellow shop. I think pegleg is referencing the $21 blue shop which I have never seen. Must be a regional thing.
Pegleg is talking about a different company/brand than the one mentioned by the OP. Only those who choose auditing rather than MSing get to do the $21 shop.
I have not done a gas station shop yet. It sounds like if I choose an audit shop at Maritz, I will never see the MS ones. Any opinion on which is preferable?
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, MaritzCX is losing lots of their clients. Trouble times ahead.

I heard that too.
Perhaps they will go to companies that are easy to work with.

It would be sooo sweet if I could schedule 60 shops a month!!! Holy oily forecourt...!
I just dropped 3 of their gas station shops. I saw it included over 60 pages of instructions. Not worth my time.

As I've said before, there are tools on their website to make reporting and shopping easier. I'll not explain them as I believe this sort of thing should be part of the shopper's education.

BTW, I have found the reporting for the blue gas stations are much faster than the last quarter's.

Can you guess why?
If you know of tools others can use, please share them. I always share ideas with other, to save them time.
Maybe the issue is that you have been overlooking the finer points of the assignments. Timing it out:
Mystery Shop: Pump gas, get a receipt. Walk the station, checking shelves, coolers, cleanliness, check the bathroom. Purchase item, do customer service at the counter. Return to the car, do beginning paperwork. = 10-15 minutes.
Reveal: Walk back inside, present LOA, Start taking your photos, of the employee, counter, bathroom, then out to the pumps. That is another 15-20 minutes.
Are you catching the dirty bathrooms, rusty MID, pumps, coolers? Or are all your reports the same status quo?
The minimum per station is 30-45 min, and that doesn't include the filing of the report.
I usually take 45-hour per station and then another 30 min to file. And then consider the closest station to my home is 14 miles. Maybe I need to go where you are so I can do 20 a day. I usually have 30-45 minute drives between locations.

Shopping Southern Georgia, Valdosta, Waycross, Quitman, Thomasville and North Central Florida I-10 & I-75.
Way too much work for what they want to pay. Around here they pay around $15 for one shop.
