Maritz's $12.50 phone shop?

Anything bad I should know about Maritz's $12.50 phone shop? I'm getting gun-shy about accepting jobs without knowing what I'm getting myself into first.

If these are the shops for one phone company rather than a phone brand you might want to do a search on the forum since it's been discussed and you can see others opinions on it. I did one for base pay but didn't touch any others till they were bonused. There are some free response questions in the report looking for opinions if I remember right. Nothing big just a few sentences. I'd say it's not as easy or quick as the jobs for the phone brands but still pretty simple.

I did two of these a few weeks ago when the scheduler called me and offered me TWICE the pay for EACH shop if I could get them done by the next day...which I did. The ones I did were for a particular well-known carrier...not the phone itself. It entailed making like I was interested in switching carriers to this carrier, with all the usual questions and observations. Just make sure you follow all the instructions, act natural, be very observant, and you will do fine. Nothing hidden or tricky. This MSP DOES WANT ***LOTS*** of details when you get to the box that says "2 or 3 sentences to describe your visit"....NOPE....give LOTS more about everything that went on. My two shops were sent back to me for that one reason. But once I wrote in all the details, all was good. Try one, I'm sure you'll do fine!

The pathetic fee.
I did 30+. Did them all on the app. Most took about 20 mins including the report but a few I had to wait a long time to be helped.

I came away with two thoughts. They had zero interest in selling me a phone. The big push was to change carriers. So don't expect any significant phone demonstration.

Second, there is a really good reason they are being shopped. At least 25 percent did not know how much their plan cost for three phones. I was quoted everything from $120 to $170, all in the same local market. And most of them are quite lazy about telling you all the extras you get.

By about my 10th shop I was convinced I needed to switch carriers, but that was only becauase I got one excellent manager who gave me the run down on every advantage.
