My guess is someone who is out $10K did a luxury travel and hotel shop. The expenses would have gone on their own credit card. Otherwise, that's a lot of hamburgers.

Answering the OP's question, yep, seeing a company going out of business now right in front of our eyes. NSS
no word, owes me 60.00 and others. I don't have recourse, called, no answer, but fingers crossed they are working on climbing out of this hole.

I have not been paid. All my checks were like clockwork. I am owed for 3 shops. I also notice no pizza shop emails that used to come twice a month or more. Nothing. Is there a true delay in payment or is something more serious going on here?

If NSS received money for the reports then they should pay us. They have been around a long time. They should of had there reserves built up. When I started shopping I could only do low reimbursement shops. I was trying to build up a reserve. I figured I needed $1000.00 or more. On any given day I am owed over $1000.00. With this reserve I can now do shops where the reimbursements are $400.00.

I like to ask general questions in forums to get discussions going. I see that as an ice breaker. I had someone in a travel forum accuse me of being a lazy book writer. I had no idea what he was talking about. Now I understand why some of you worry. You've seen that. If I'm asking a question like the op, I'm imagining I'm at a party and asking questions you'd be interested in answering.

The owner died in late February, quite young b.1960, so I assume it takes time. His other business also run until the end of April, early May.

His previous partners (Orilio and Associates) disassociated themselves from him because he was such a bad apple.Now he is running a company called "Hospitality Consultants' out of San Diego and Vegas. Around 2012 I got stiffed for a TGIF here in NYC. Can't remember the MSC name but Peggy or Robin (?) ring a bell. Many shoppers had problems and a guy from MSPA (Jerry?) was helping but I got tired of chasing $45 and let it drop. I remember they kept offering me huge bonuses to do more in those last few months. Fortunately I did not. They just wanted to get paid by the client and had no intention of paying the shopper. Shameful since we all paid out of pocket.

uplate, I think it was NSG, and the owner/manager was Laura. She was also scheduling and performing a multitude of other tasks at the same time. I did shops for them for quite awhile and was paid, but then she got strange there towards the end, likely stressed out from overwork and financial issues. I had no way of knowing why her tone changed and just steered clear; it was off-putting so I just quit taking shops. Good thing since they went under and stopped paying shoppers.

It was Nationwide, and Laura Unger was the main scheduler. The MSPA guy was likely Dan Denston, who was Executive Director at the time. After scheduling a lot of shops, and quickly jumping ship before the big crash, Laura Unger reportedly moved to KSS.

Laura Unger was NOT the owner. She got off that sinking ship before it sunk, but not before scheduling a bunch of shops to unsuspecting shopper's.

The OP has not done that. Your post gives the impression that they have. Also the OP maintained that they are not writing a book. So I don't get the constant accusations. You have all chased her off now so for the love of god let it go.

Excuse me, were you referring to me? I was responding to MSaddict, not the OP, and I did not post anything in here that was negative towards the OP and was not one of the ones who "chased her off".

And I never thought that the OP was writing a book, never posted anything of the sort, and was referring to someone who actually did write a book and used things from the forum in response to MS addict. Nothing to do with the OP at all.

At this point the whole "are you writing a book thing" has been blown way out of proportion. If that was worst thing anyone said, it ain't so bad. Many of us have been accused of being shills for MSCs yet we didn't go creating a thread to cry about how we had to leave because we were so abused. The OP was admittedly bored and obviously enjoyed some drama. It makes no difference to me if she leaves or stays, but don't continually blame an otherwise innocuous statement.

I completely agree that it's been blown way out of proportion. That is my entire point. When someone is followed around by multiple people in every thread they start, getting snarky comments about them writing a book, it gets tiresome for those of us watching, much less the one getting accused. I"m sick of this topic but I also feel like someone needs to speak up about the mob mentality going on here.

Calm down. No I didn't mean you. I responded to your comment because that "innocuous" little comment gave the impression that the OP had done that or was going to do it when she has stated many times that is not the case.

I AM STILL WAITING FOR $233 FROM FRANCHISE COMPLIANCE! The sad thing is that it looks like they are back or someone is doing those same carpet cleaning shops. We know that they were paid for the work that we did. Why are they not paying us? dra

Well that's an interesting tale full of misinformation. Since I know Billy O personally, I'd say that you don't quite have your facts corect.

Another MSC picked up the client, they are not Franchise Compliance and not responsible for the outstanding payments. AFAIK, the principals of FC are not involved in any other mystery shopping business.
