Anybody want to talk about the changes at Marketforce?

I always get calls from Atlanta area. They have all been very nice and I have been successful in getting more than I have on past shops. Sometimes they need to get approval but it doesnt take long. Guess it depends how desperate they are.

Do not read so much, look about you and think of what you see there.
Richard Feynman-- letter to Ashok Arora, 4 January 1967, published in Perfectly Reasonable Deviations from the Beaten Track (2005) p. 230
I got a call yesterday offering me a shop I used to do for 15 to 20.00. She said " The fee is $3.00 + reimbursement." I was sure I heard her wrong. The base is usually 7.50. I asked her to repeat it. She did. I asked again. after the third time of telling me the fee was 3.00, I politely told her I was not interested.
The REALLY sad thing about the shop that was reduced from a base of $7.50 to $3.00 is that it's the one where you order and wait for them to offer a drink. If they do, they get the $5 gift card, if they don't we get to go inside and humiliate the fast food restaurant employees by giving them "Oops" cards. I was doing those for $20 to $25 and will NOT touch another one for any less. It's awful when they don't win.
They just came out with the ol' bookstore shop again for $5 reimbursement and no fee. What are they thinking ??!!
MF was the first company I ever worked for so I had no idea what other companies paid. Every day I get an offer by email to do a 'supermarket shop' for no pay but they'll reimburse me for $15 worth of groceries. The supermarket is over 20 miles away. It's just not worth my time and effort to make $15 and drive 40 miles and spend a few hours. Their pay was never huge but now it's ridicules.
Some people love the grocery shops and some don't. I personally haven't been tempted by them, not that there is anything wrong for those who like it.

But the bookstore shop is beyond sanity.
They lowered another German-based grocery store shop fee from $4 to $3 and someone in my city takes it every month - and that only reimburses $5 worth of groceries.
If people shop at that grocery anyway, it's worth it to them. Just like i don't want to do the department store shop where you have to work multiple depts and take pictures for $16. But it flies off the board.
They German based grocery stores are $10.5 reimbursement no shop fee in my area.

I did their bookstore shop for the first time this week and boy never again. Even with the fee, it wasn't enough.

I used to get $25-$30 on their casual restaurant shop with coffee, so sad it's gone.

I still make good money on their burger shops, I'm up to $25 now for the home delivery and $30 for in store.

They are being cheap with the hardware store. I use to get $10-$15 one time $40 with make an offer. Now there is a new shopper I'm my area taking them for $5 base
I don't see those high fees for the burger shops. The highest I saw advertised was $18 starting fee with the MOF. It stinks when there is a new shopper in your area. Maybe they'll burn themselves out and take other lower fee jobs. I still enjoy the burger shops. The hardware shops are $14 fee with $5 reimbursement here. Someone will take that.
I take the hardware shops for $14 and $5 reimb. The report is not difficult and I always need something for the apts. They are all around me and I'm always passing one or another. I've had 12-17 minutes in the store on average.
I guess we don't have the right book store here or the burger shops

You aren't missing anything with the book store, i don't think. I know you like the burgers. It's probably better for your health that they aren't around !

They pay for the shopper's food, but they do not pay for your companion so the shopper has to pay to get the companion's food. By the time you buy gas and your companion a burger, you lose money.
If they don't require a companion, why would you have to pay for a companion's food? Just go solo, or if that thought scares you, have your companion pay for themselves.

I'd be totally fine with never eating another grilled cheese sandwich in my entire life. I'm so tired of the food.

You aren't missing anything with the bookstore shop. I was in there for almost an hour because I couldn't find anyone to help me sad smiley I had to make a purchase separate from the cafe purchase that is not reimbursed. The lines were long. Even longer when I went to return my purchase.
Ugh. May I ask why you even took a $5 shop requiring a no-reimburse purchase? No judgment. Just that shop blew my mind.
The Hedgehog shops are gonna have dogs for a male deer next wed. or at least in my area. I've been sucking down the skater specials lately think I done for a few months with em. Doc said that I have put on 15 pounds in the last month.
I did a lot of shops for MF. The fees weren't great, but ok. I too have noticed reduced fees. Once I asked for a bonus, and instead of yes or know I got a standard email with instructions telling me how to ask for a bonus and when it's ok to ask for a bonus. So now they've lost out on a frequent shopper for them.
I don't think it hurts to ask for a bonus when you see a shop you want and it's due soon. If it were me, I wouldn't rule out MF just because of that.

Yeah, because the cafe shop is one of my favorite coffee places. It was any beverage purchase. I got my favorite frappuccino- strawberries and creme. The shops are usually on the board with no fee in my area. I thought a $5 fee would be okay considering I was going to buy the frap anyway. I was doing two shops in the stores nearby (mall like shopping plaza)

I didn't know it would take so long. sad smiley
