BVA IS THE WORST -- #WriteYourRules

Theyre french! Bwahaha

Oh, look, what was that rule about not being able to do more than one shop, even if they're in different locations, using different internet sources and/or computers, at different restaurants, and at different times? Can someone tell my scheduler about that bullet (well, that dash symbol)? #RighteousIndignation

The schedulers are French?

BVA is a French company..... So their staff is also French.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Nope, still waiting on shops to be paid.

Let the record reflect that I acknowledge payment for all my shops - finally.

Maybe the title of the thread should be changed. Despite you finding a loophole and assigning more shops than allowed, and the difficulties you had with the instructions, BVA certainly doesn't sound like the worst to me. They actually sound like pretty good guys, paying you for all shops even though they will not be paid. I understand that they have told you they no longer want to work with you, and you are miffed about that, but you got paid for everything.

This sounds like a good company to me.
I would guess at this point both the company and @eodermatt are happy this is over, and no longer have to deal with one another.

Yet their website still does not reflect the 3 per day rule.

I will speak for my own emotions, thank you very much.

How many days did it take to get payment? They told you that they will be few days late. We are talking days which in mystery shopping industry is not a long time at all. I think it really stinks when your work doesn’t go the way as you wanted or planned, for whatever reason. You sound like you enjoyed and want to still work for them. I would send a scheduler another email and ask for consideration. You may need to be a bit more humbled, like. A LOT more humble

They told somebody else it would be a few days late; they just told me that they were escalating the shops to the boss.

Also, the number of days it took for payment varies by shop.

I give this MSC a ton of credit for being far more responsive, flexible and quick to pay than any US-based MSC I have worked with so far.

Cons; Set up Process was wonky, instructions need some clarification work

Pros: Did my first shop, there was a kink in the process, scheduler QUICKLY responded to my email, was very helpful and friendly, helped me, extended my report deadline

Result: reimbursed in 48 hours!! try that with a typical us based shop.

I would gladly work for them again.

My idea with a new program like this is to proceed methodically to make sure it works and it does.

I have other side gigs I participate in outside of MSing and I notice a similar pattern. Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.
I just wanted to do a quick follow up since I was bored...It seems the OP doesn't know where to find the info, but that does not mean they didn't in fact post it. Took me less then 5 minutes to find this.

Clicked on Food Ordering Job Instructions on the left side of my browser, bottom of the page, and this is a direct quote:

... and feel free to book another job !
Please bear in mind that you can complete 1 job maximum per meal of the day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). In other words, you can complete 3 jobs per day maximum.
To book another job, go to "New jobs" on BVA's platform.

So....um, yea, 3 jobs per day. There you have it, in black and white, so they do say it.

OK, now they say it; there's no telling how long those instructions have been where you found them. Perhaps they were added after OP did her jobs.

It is a possibility it was just posted on July 4th, just in time for oteixiera to find it, but I'm betting not. As of July 3, the OP was still saying "Yet their website still does not reflect the 3 per day rule." I'm betting the OP simply was not as adept at finding the information as oteixiera. Or that the OP was making the assumption that it still was not there.
Pretty sure you should edit this.

Hello,

We have come to the end of the first part of our study and thanks again to you, we did well.

The program continues with a new set of rules.

Please kindly note that from now on (SATURDAY JUNE 30TH) :

- The rewards will be treated within 5 business days (we have too many daily surveys to review, to validate and to reward)

- The mode is TAKEOUT only. Even if the questionnaire has not changed, we only need takeout surveys until next notification.

- Some towns are now out of the list (you received an update on June 27th and 28th). No survey will be accepted if you manage to pull some.

- Starting July 2nd, the new job questionnaire will bear the city name, the partner name and the mode as follow:

Atlantic City

USA

NJ

[REDACTED]

Take-out

Baltimore

USA

MD

[REDACTED]

Take-out

Reminders:

- You still can do more than one job a day but it has to be takeout for both, different partners, different meals, different restaurants

- You still have only 24h to fill out the questionnaire

- The screenshots have to be accurate (checkout mention, name of partner/restaurant on the detailed confirmation email, total amount of expenses, order ID, date and hour of each required steps…)

"
When they first told me there was a problem, and that my shops were being held, I screen shot every part of the website and e-mailed it in reply to the staffer/scheduler. That was June 26th at 14:10. The following was what it said after Step G:

Thank you for going through these instructions. We hope you have enjoyed this job !
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions → [their e-mail]

They've paid me. It is obviously case-closed to the extent that they didn't have the instruction at the time of considering not to pay me. Because they had not written the rule between my first shop of June 10th and when they contacted me on June 26th, or otherwise communicated the rule prior to June 10th so that future participants were informed, they shelled out the reimbursements for the relevant shops. Short of some magical Doctor Strange Infinity Stone time traveling powers, the evidence is what it is that the relevant time period did not contain the rules. That's why they paid me. Case closed, new rules apply to shops going forward.

If you want to litigate whether they are NOW writing their rules, after it has had monetary consquences for them, I'll leave you to it. Enjoy!

It seems like they still met their obligation to you correct in the end. You also seem to say that no one else would be able to do the shops? There are plenty of other shoppers to do the shops. We offer the companies a service as Independent Contractors. Technically they owe us nothing. I try to take the attitude that I want to help them fulfill their responsibility for their client. I am there to evaluate the service provided. I never expect a scheduler to discuss pay problems, as that is not their job. If I have a pay problem, and I have with a different company, I work with an administrative employee who handles those issues. I remember that I make mistakes and so does everyone else. If it is resolved I send a thank you. I try to thank the scheduler or whomever I communicate with in the company. Sometimes I take a loss to help them if they are in a bind. We are partners to get a job done for their client. I treat them the way I want to be treated. When they make a mistake I do contact them and when they fix it I thank them. When I make a mistake I thank them for any help they give me to straighten it out. I try to be friendly with my schedulers I work with regularly. I work with them and they work with me. I know they can sever their relationship with me at any time with no explanation so I try to never give them reason to do so. They are trying to do their jobs and many of our schedulers are working with many people at once and have to answer to their supervisors who have to answer to the client that pays all of us. I really believe my attitude has helped me through some mistakes I have made along the way.

The huge irony of the thread title, "BVA IS THE WORST," is that they're actually one of the best in terms of building a relationship with them as a shopper with my experiences with them already.... And they're not even based in this continent!!

Yes, Tarantado, I think title needs to be changed. I think OP got a bit bothered for not being ablo to sign up for zillion shops any longer....

"Sometimes I take a loss to help them if they are in a bind. We are partners to get a job done for their client."

This is where we must be careful. Though some do consider us this way, we aren't really partners and many more consider us an expendable commodity. It can be a good business decision to take a loss once in a while, but not if the client (MSC) doesn't understand or appreciate the gesture. Some consider us no more than numbers. For those I would not ever consider taking a loss. Never, ever, ever.
