From what I have read, the MSC is a one-woman show so there would be no way move up the chain of command within it.

If she is a one woman show, it will be easier to get to her. All those legal problems will become her personal problems. Like a lien on her, her house, credit report, BBB, etc. Those are defiantly not good on her record for any reason, but especially if she is looking for a job, or trying to buy a house, get a loan, etc!

Maybe Katy is not her real name - It could be Katherine, or Kathleen?

katy is her real name ,i found her addresses and relations but I can't find SCS as an official registered business in california.

It doesn't even look like SCS is an official registered business - I have her mailing addresses though - now to serve her with the court papers.

I sent a registered letter that required a signature. It does not matter if it ts not a real business. Her name is the important thing to have.
@JazzGirl did you send it to the Auburn PO Box or another address? did she sign it?

We're filing the legal paperwork with the Placer County Small claims court right now.

We're filing the legal paperwork with the Placer County Small claims court right now.

I sent it to her address, because I wanted to do it registered, since it required a signature. Mine was a letter to tell her that if she did not pay within 15 days, I would proceed to take her to small claims court. (that's why I had to live in the same state). This was a long time ago, (like 8 or 10 years) and the requirement for the letter was that there had to be proof that she was notified and given time to respond before legal procedure. My dollar amount fell within the requirement for small claims court.

Basically, it was a notice before court proceedings. When she sent me the cashiers check (which was what I asked her for) I did not have to proceed. (I got lucky there!)
I think that I recall that she has a lot of info on linkedin. Somebody here found her.

I have located her but it looks like her current mailing address is a PO Box. The courts will not serve papers to a PO Box.

Anyone can find her actual mailing /physical address? Please let me know so we can serve papers
So she is on Linkedin - that is even better!!! She is out there for her business. She will have to make it right. If this gets on her record (that she was taken to court for non-payments) she will be up the proverbial creek with NO paddle. (AKA credibility). Love it!
What is her name? Where in Placer county does she live? Let me try to locate the address. Or, if you can't find it, you can try one of those search places. The first name you ask about will only cost you .95 cents.

Open public records on the Internet (Google, WhitePages, etc) show her full name is Katy Laird Gravatt and that her address is PO Box 3297 Auburn CA.
Here is what I see so far....

My search took me to Spokeo, It is one of those search places that ask for $.95 cents to give the complete info, including address. You would have to agree to the .95 and then you would get the search with a trial membership, which you can cancel anytime. It is a legitimate place - I have tried it before.

I think she lives with her mother: (or maybe it's her mother in law) there are Lairds and Gravatts all listed below.
note: the first phone number here matches the one for Katy Gravatt on the search above.

The age for Nancy Cowan (also Nancy Gravatt) age 67 could be that she is the mother (Katy age 40)

Then maybe this is her address...
Looks like she lives there with her mother, and then she got her PO Box. She probably still lives there. I would try the Spokeo $.95 cent place to see if you can get more clarity.
Here's another thing - if her mother lives there, she would probably take a registered letter and sign for it.
I have enjoyed it! It feels good to do something to help! I hope it gets all the $$$$ you guys worked for...you deserve it!
Thank you Jazzgirl

We will be serving papers to 234 Channel Hill Rd, Auburn, CA 95603 3140
If anybody needs a copy of the ICA you can find it on the msc's main web page under the Shopper sign up area. It is not on the website where we look for and Report evaluations. You should probably retain a copy, if you haven't already, in case she takes the website down.
My demand letter is on it's way. Small claims will include travel expenses, though, so I hope she realizes how much more expensive I will be if it comes to that.
Thanks for keeping us posted, everyone. At this point I've now been paid by every single MSC I did work for through mid-March except for her.
I was not paid for Dec, Jan, Feb. I am in Canada. I liked the company but not getting money back $270 hurts...
