Scheduler says someone else was paid for job I did! What?

When I tried to find out why I wasn’t getting paid, I found out that someone else got paid for that job. Emails back and forth are not getting me anywhere. I have emails telling me to do the job. Someone owes me $50! Help!!!

You can't link clients with MSCs. You can't say what the nsme of the business you shopped was in the same thread as a MS company. You can name the MSC so that maybe someone can give you advice.
Ive never dkne any shops for them. Be patient, hopefully someone else who has will chime in soon.
Is this your first payment from them? Log into your White-Clay account and double-check to see the PayPal account you typed in. It might be typo-d. And be sure the PayPal email matches the email for your account with them. If your PayPal is shown correctly in your White-Clay profile, double-check your PayPal to be sure the money is not there. Jessica makes their payroll through PayPal. Contact Jared Rondinelli at jared@whiteclay.com and provide the PayPal email information and ask that he trace the payment that was made. I've worked with them since early 2016 and found them to be stellar.
While I have only completed 14 jobs for White Clay in 13 years, there has never been a speck of a problem nor do I recall ever hearing of any shopper encountering trouble, either under their current or former name of Marketing Endeavors.

Was not your shop assigned and reported at the sassie website?
Could you explain a little more about what happened. Did you get written confirmation you were assigned the job? Did you submit a report and was it approved? How did you find out you weren't getting paid?

That's a good point. Sometimes we shoppers are excited to do a job and might perhaps apply for one and go do it without actually being assigned. Hope that wasn't your situation, but it's worth looking into.
I’ve done about 8 jobs for them since March. Got paid quickly. When I saw that I didn’t get payment for this job, I inquired and was told someone else was paid for this job.

I have emails telling me to do the job, however I couldn’t access it at their website. Scheduler told me he was having problems recently with the website, to go do the job and email me the report and he will enter it.

Here’s what I think happened. Someone forgot that they told another MS to do the job so when I was given the Ok, someone else had already done it.
So did you e-mail the scheduler the report?

I think you are right; if there was a problem with the website, what you describe could certainly have happened.

A few MSCs are stand-up, will admit they told you to do the job, and pay you.

Probably 1% are that stand-up!
You may have to send your email chain up the ladder to the contact that @roflwofl suggested. If a scheduler told you, in writing, to do a shop and email him/her the report, you should be paid without too much difficulty. That is a blunder on the part of the MSC. I have had something similar happen once and the MSC (EPMS) let me know as much - and still paid me, including the handsome bonus I was offered.

I understand that stuff happens. Nobody’s perfect. But this was far for me to drive! Thanks.
So how do I find out who the officers of the company are? I need to escalate this. The contact at White Clay someone above suggested I contact is the person I’m having the problem with! He hasn’t responded since 12/24/19! What recourse do we have? We’re honest people trying to make a few dollars to support our families and a reputable company doesn’t want to pay us for a job that we were told to do!
I think you might be SOL. I have no experience with this particular company, but you might have to cut your losses and move on. I have been burned a couple of times by MSCs but the circumstances were different (the businesses went under). It was for a considerably larger sum than $50. But, sometimes the time spent stressing and trying to get results aren't worth it.
I once got payment for a job someone else did. I contacted the small msc and let them know they paid me incorrectly. They thanked me and said they would send payment to the other shopper but they did not want the money back that I got by mistake. Now that is a 1% company! They sometimes just send bonuses out of the blue. Usually just an extra dollar or two. Please do not ask the name of this fine msc! They are small and I do not need competition for the jobs I do for them.
Reeree1967 I hope your situation turns out okay for you. I would certainly pursue it to a higher level. I do not work for them myself.
Not much information has been provided, but this no longer sounds like a mistake in payment. It sounds like the company paid a shopper for a completed shop that you believe you also were assigned. Several posters have asked clarification questions but no answers were provided and what happened here is not at all clear.

Only info: "I have emails telling me to do the job, however I couldn’t access it at their website. Scheduler told me he was having problems recently with the website, to go do the job and email me the report and he will enter it."

I'm pretty confused. I am guessing, perhaps incorrectly, that this is a mattress shop. White Clay shops for multiple mattress companies. The shops pay well and have a lot of narrative. The reports are not yes/no answers and your report would be very long and it would be difficult to email unless it was sent as an attachment

1. Is the shop listed on your White-Clay Sassie Shop Log? Was it ever on your Shop Log? Did you receive a confirmation email after it was assigned to you and did you Confirm the assignment?

2. How exactly did the Scheduler's email tell you to email the report to him? Did he send you a list of the questions from the report and tell you to respond via email? Did he send you a pdf or a Word document of the report attached to the email and ask you to complete it and return it to him as an attachment?

3. Did you provide the report to the Scheduler via email in the manner he requested?

4. If you provided the emailed report, was your POV attached to the email?

5. Having done about 8 jobs for them, you are familiar with their editing process. All reports get a personal email after editing, usually from ziggy, the editor (and, I believe, one of the company's owners) commenting on the report and asking any necessary questions. If you did send your report to the scheduler, did you receive his response confirming he received your report? What response did you get from the editor after editing?

6. When you communicated with Jared about payment, did you attach a copy of the report and POV to your inquiries? If no audit trail exists in Sassie, your email documentation and the report and POV are crucial.

Since you have already communicated with Jared, I suggest you email Ziggy Zubric, ziggy@whiteclay.com When you communicate with ziggy, you should be very detailed in explaining the situation, clearly answering the questions above. You should attach the email conversations between you and the scheduler and provide the report and POV.
I’ll be calling them in the morning. The emails I have are self explanatory. Thanks for everyone’s input. I’ll keep you posted.
I've done close to 30 mattress shops for White Clay over the past 5 years and I have found them to be very good at responding to emails and questions. I would be surprised if you can't get this fixed.
Everyone,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I’ve looked into the situation, and it was a huge misunderstanding. To recap:

We launched a session to evaluate a chain of stores in Pennsylvania.

R, the shopper who started this thread, applied for 2 of them. (She has a great track record with us…her other evaluations received high scores and she always received prompt, full payment.)

We had one location, not near R, with no applicants; so we sent out an email recruiting people for that location.

R emailed us saying that she wanted to do that location…but she never actually applied for it.

We went into the system and saw the two stores that she HAD applied for and assigned them to her, not realizing that she also wanted the 3rd store (again, she hadn’t actually applied for it).

R did all 3 evaluations but couldn’t enter the 3rd one (since it wasn’t assigned to her).

In the meantime, we had someone else apply for the 3rd location and assigned it to them.

R contacted us and explained that she couldn’t enter her report. We couldn’t figure out what the problem was since the two that she was assigned were showing up just fine in her log.

We offered to let her fill out the report in Word and email it to us (believing that she was talking about one of the two stores assigned to her).

On 11/3/19 she agreed to email us her entire report in Word (we never received this).

Ultimately, she asked for payment for the 3rd location and our team was confused because that store was assigned to (and completed by) another evaluator.

R, I’m so sorry about the confusion. Do you still have your report written up in Word? If so, please send it my way and we’ll be sure to compensate you in full.

Really appreciate your efforts and hope you’ll work with us again in the future. Cheers!
Ziggy. My faith in the mystery shopping industry has been restored! Thank you for this explanation. My records show that I did send the report via email on 11-3-19 at 9:09 PM. I will email you a copy of the report immediately.
@ZiggyZ.
That is a classy response. Kudos to you and White Clay.

This MSC is amazing! Bravo! I have only done two shops for them but will gladly do more.
R, we just transferred the $75 into your Paypal account. Let me know if you have any issues. Tks!
