Another thought: If you typically do shops for the rates posted online, schedulers might call you, hoping to get you to do them for those compensation levels - which would increase the number of calls you receive. However, if you start to require higher payments, you might reduce the number of calls you get for "base" amounts and, thereby, only get calls when schedulers have the ability to offer strong compensation.
If you can get to locations that are difficult to schedule, bonuses can get pretty impressive sometimes. I've done $6 gas shops with $250 bonuses before - as have others on this board. This can be the start of a very profitable day route.
