IPSOS GRADING SYSTEM - WHAT A JOKE!

I actually do not care as long as they pay me. But it was a shock. The editor said I major spelling and grammar errors. If I remember correctly, there is very little narrative so it is difficult to have major errors!

I have had exactly the same experience this week! Well over 200 of these particular brand of shops, without issues, and this week I've had 10s, 6's, 4's and 2's! What in the world??

I honestly think they are outsourcing the edits on shops to WordSmithPros, which was the name
I saw on the correction request email. And they are signed _____________, editor. This same thing is happening to me, and I think the change was made the first of this year.

I run in shops that have no words on the canopy. It is just blank all the way around. It is usually the blue stations.
jay-Actually, not all the time does a "Received" indicator mean it was good for payment. I have had shops go unpaid for a month and then moved to 'Hold Pay" after previously noted as "Received". And, while rare, Ipsos does do this when their editor fails to support the shopper or the shopper fails to thoroughly explain an unusual issue...then, a month later, after several attempted communications regarding the unpaid but "Received" shop...poof!...it is rejected. Intellishop is infamous for doing this on shops 30-45 days after submission.

Yep, was never an issue in the past when there were barely 24 hours between 'received' and 'completed' but now they can pull that after weeks.
Don't you just LOVE getting dozen upon dozen of solicitations from one particular scheduler in one day?

One shop I did in December I received an 10.. Same shop I did in January I received an 8.. I got paid for it but I am wondering why it was lower?
I did a shop that I have done for a whole year with the legacy system without any issue. I did it this month and received the following information. "Thank you for shopping with Ipsos! This report received a 2 rating, meaning it contained multiple major errors." I don't care anymore as long as I am getting paid.

I just did a slew of shops for December. One of the photos required was of "Current POP, or expired if current not posted". Well, guess what? Editor didn't realize what the January POPs were. I really didn't think the business should be dinged because they put up January POPs as soon as they received them, right?

On the topic of current POP, I believe early should be marked as not current.

The POP materials generally have a put up date and a take down date. A manager actually showed me where it was on the sign when I told them their POP wasn't current. The correct image was on the other side of the sign.

If the Jan POP has a promotion that doesn't start until Jan 1 but is posted in December, how will a customer know it is not currently available. What if the promotion said double rewards? The customer is disappointed when they don't receive the extra rewards because the promotion hasn't started yet.

The job isn't about what we think is right or wrong. There are directions for one of the companies that is zero wiggle room, it is either 100% compliant or it is non-compliant.

I just don't understand how a shop that didn't need correction could be anything other than a 10. The grading standard is a minor error is typo or grammar. Most of these gas shops don't require any writing. We are selecting boxes and entering numbers. The only writing i usually do on a blue is the employee name. How can I have minor errors? An 8 should not be possible

Yup! Me too!! 10, 6, 8 and all of the photos were basically the same

I don't work with Maritz, do they have a lot in the USA, Midwest/Cincinnati OH? I was going to sign up but they don't pay via PayPal and want my bank info. I'm not comfortable with that. Anyone know why they don't offer PayPal?
I've been bemused by all these comments because I've never had an editor ever come back to me. But it happened today - totally ridiculous issues. So now I know what you've all been talking about!
I was told if we are getting lower ratings for grammar it is because we are not using caps when needed and not putting in place holders for purchase amounts. Here is an example...This is correct: Chips...and 0.50.. THIS IS NOT CORRECT : chips and .50 Also if there is no logo on the canopy or anything not normal, it is best to write a comment in the comment box stating so. If the editor has to send it back for clarification, we get docked.
I came to vent because I got a low grade and weird tips on what was wrong with the shop. None of them made sense. I literally have done more than 1000 of these shops for the legacy website. I even got dinged that I did not mark the pop correctly. The location did not have ANY pop and I said so on the report. What is it to mark?
I wonder if some editors are "getting behind" and sending some shops back for clarification to catch up. Sending back a shop after deleting a perfectly good purchase receipt would be an example of this.

I suggest double checking reports before they are submitted. Sometimes things don't upload properly or we think certain POP is correct when it's not. The grading system is weeding out those who do not complete most things correctly. They have guidelines for us to use to double check these things.
They have been outsourcing for years. Same editing company. New platform with new required grading system.
Don't mark POP that you think should be marked current as current. The next month POP can't be posted until the gas company says so. So in this case, the January POP posted in December was not current.
I have worked with editors both in and out of mystery shopping for a long time. I have learned the effort required to argue with editors is seldom worth the effort, and the few times they get it wrong is far outweighed by the positive contributions they make. Plus, if you have ever looked over an edited report that was sent back for a missing photo, etc., you will quickly realize they are working with a totally different set of rules.
I find that many of the editors hired by MSCs don't have the professional level of grammar and usage they should in order to be editing!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I've noticed they've eased up on the low grades in the past week. Specifically on gas shops. Maybe they got the message?
I've moved into the 'no gas stations without a bonus' category. It's not a bonus - it's my consolation fee for having to work with these editors. They don't even agree with each other.
These grades don't make sense and they don't mention what is actually wrong or a shop is sent back asking for a photo that WAS downloaded. You know there is something wrong with an editor when the "clarification" you send back to them is copied and pasted directly from the guide.
I got a few 4 and several 10 and can't figure out what the differences were. Their feedback is so generic it is pointless when referring to their guidelines. But that is just me. I have always had my doubts about editors.
I think some of you act like you have no errors when completing a report. Are you more concerned about getting everything submitted correctly or just getting the report submitted? If an editor has to correct POP, move a photo, correct answers, send back because a photo is missing or it's a duplicate, etc. they are all errors. If you want 8 and 10s, please look over your reports carefully
I have only received a grade feedback email on about 20% of my Ipsos shopmetrics shops. Most have been 5/5 when receiving a report, but I have no idea on most because I never got the email.
