Verites

Does anyone know if Verites is still around? I haven't gotten an email from them since early summer, but my state was one of the last to reopen theaters.

I received an email from my Verites scheduler a couple weeks ago. She said we're going to start again soon. I'm hopeful..
Morledzep, thanks for posting that. Was wondering myself about Verites, now that Movie Measure seems to be the only msc for trailer checks. Maybe one of the studios has retained Verites again.
Can you stay and watch the movie after you do the trailer check with Movie Measure or Verites?
No, but in time when you are friendly enough with all staff, you may be able to watch the movie.

IF you buy a ticket you can watch the movie. NEVER accept anything for free, especially from the movie theaters, they will turn on you and use it against you later. Don't even let them give you discounts they don't give to every other customer. When I had to be at one of the theaters most of the day there was a nice young man who worked at the concession counter, he started giving me discounts on snacks without my knowledge, I just paid what he asked. Then I got an email, telling me that I would be removed if I continued to get the employee discount on food items while I'm in the theater on assignment.

I don't even stay inside the theater in between showtimes now, I go back to my car and eat food that I bring with me. I give them NO excuse to accuse me of doing anything wrong.
If you don't mind my asking--
Who had your e-mail and how did someone know you were given an employee discount?
The 'nice young man' needed a meeting with his manager about giving away product IF he was allowed to keep his job.
I don't think VeriTes is coming back, and it was wishful thinking on their part. They thought they were coming back weekly after Venom trailer checks, the only trailer checks they got this year, my scheduler told me they were starting weekly checks again, and that never happened, and then poof, they faded off into the background, and not another peep or assignment from them since. My scheduler would have said something if they were coming back, instead she just sent an Email Thanksgiving, saying they were still there, hoping things would start up again, but again another company seems to have cornered the market on everything.
Not unless you buy a ticket. But most of the time you have other showtimes to check and don't have time to watch the film anyway unless it's your last showtime of the day.
I don't think it has anything to do with the new strain, but everything to do with another company getting the work VeriTes thought they were going to get, because the work is actually there and it's been down right busy, but it isn't coming from VeriTes, unfortunately.
I'm sure that much is true and they want to come back. But let me say this. Today I have Sing 2, The King's Man, and Matrix Resurrection checks, then Christmas Licorice Pizza, that's this week alone. December has been very busy with all kinds of assignments, November was swamped. The studios are cranking out all the work again and not giving any of it to VeriTes. I don't know what the Studios are saying to VeriTes to make them think they might have something soon, but they have been sitting there since October with nothing while another company got a ton of assignments. I really want them to come back to, but I'm being realistic. My schedulers website continues to stay the same as it has for months and that is "I have no assignments this week" Not mentioning anything coming soon and she hasn't emailed us to say so either.

Thank you for that information! I sure hope that they can rebound. They have a great, yet small team (<25), and I pray that Jeff and his staff can prosper and be profitable in the new year, and send us lots of work also.
I'd love for them to bounce back and maybe after the new year things will change. I've been with them for a while now, but the same thing happened to another company too. One that was dead in the water, and they thought for sure they were coming back into the theater field in June and that didn't happen. So I hope it's not the Studios giving false hope, and finally things come through for both VeriTes and the other company who thought they were making a comeback. But Movie Measure has something neither company has and I'm afraid that's why they are getting all the work and no one else is. Verites can't compete with that.

For those of you who still have contact with your schedulers, you may want to reach out to them, and make sure VeriTes is still up and running. My scheduler has decided to shut down her website she used for assigning assignments. Not sure why.
Is Movie Measure the one that is getting all of the work or am I maybe missing another company?
There are a couple of others, but there work is very sparse, and not consistent. Movie measure has gotten the most work on a regular basis. VeriTes did have work last year, not at lot but they had a few assignments.

Last year Verites did have a few open or blind all showings checks. But those shops also recently shifted to Movie Measure. Looked at Certified for the first time in many months and see they had two NYC blind checks.

Messaged my Verites scheduler weeks ago and never heard back. His website remains up.
I just messaged CFA and asked about theater checks and if they were coming back and they said they didn't have any now. What are the dates on the blind checks? Are they recent? Or ones from previous year?

The blind checks on Certified are current and not left over from months back. Probably worthwhile to check their site weekly going forward.
I'm in FL and I check on a daily basis. We have nothing and have not had any theater assignments in almost 2 years. I did the last one that was in my area. No blind checks, just installs. That's why I message them on a regular basis to see if they are returning. All that is in my area is merchandising. I don't care for those.

Rho, I suspect that he did get in some trouble, but he was very well-liked, and he was leaving for college in a few weeks anyway. It's easy enough for the theater to complain about their shoppers, they don't need my email address to do that. If I had been paying attention, I would have realized that they were giving me discounts, and I probably would have stopped it. He didn't give away anything, just gave me his employee discount on the food I purchased.

But, that was the second time I was accused of doing things that were against the rules. I had one theater in a small town not far from here tell the MSC I was working for that I was watching the movies. I was there for an ad check, and I was trying to get the ads for each of the auditoriums and each showing of each movie with nearly impossible scheduling. The owner of the theater was paranoid and he told me that I wasn't going to find whatever I was looking for to report against him. All I was doing was an ad check. I got in trouble, though I did nothing wrong, I followed all of the rules, got permission from the person who claimed to be the manager and gave them a copy of the LOA, before I started and got the door schedule from the "manager" so that I could do what I was supposed to do. I told the MSC what had actually happened, step by step. I never argued with the theater owner, I left as soon as he told me to, and I kept walking when he kept yelling at me after I left the building. The next morning, without notice, I was deactivated by the MSC (not VeriTes).
When Movie Measure started I signed up. But then I kept getting emails wanting me to download invasive programs onto my phone. I don't mind an app to make reporting simple, but I will NOT download a program with is going to take over my entire phone. Maybe they were phishing scams using Movie Measure's logos and such, but I don't get emails from them anymore, so my best guess is that it was them, and they are doing more than just movie trailers, they are also selling our personal info. I'm already paranoid, I don't need them to actually try to do @#$%& to me.
I currently work for Movie Measure and have been employed with them since 2019, I have never had any emails telling me to download invasive apps, or anything of that nature. It must not have been them.

Has anyone been able to reach their scheduler? I reached out to mine after seeing she was shutting down her website January 27th. A lot of times she does not respond to me, but sometimes she does. I'm really wondering why she would shut down her site, if everything is ok, and VeriTes is still up and operating.

My VeriTes scheduler moved back to England. I did hear from her replacements, but that was pre-pandemic. I think Movie Measure has all the checks in my area.
I'm contracted with both VeriTes and Movie Measure, and my original scheduler with VeriTes retired before the pandemic and her replacement, my current scheduler, is a hit or miss with communication. Sometimes she answers my emails, and sometimes she does not. I noticed Movie measure had all the work really, where other companies, like Verites, and CFA who thought they were making a comeback were still sitting there waiting, wo that's what prompted me to say they were on there way out to the OP when they posted they heard Verites was going to start soon, then my scheduler posts on her assignment page she is shutting it down on the Jan 27th, it doesn't look good. I'm still hoping she will respond, and would hope all the schedulers would at least let us know if they are shutting down. It's kind of hard to compete with Movie Measure when they have the app and it's all real time data entry and VeriTes is still manual data entry.

Does the theater manager receive the trailer report from Movie Measure. Asking as mine approached a week later asking me if I overlooked one trailer which did not play.
