It depends which shop one takes. For some shops, $15.45 won't even cover 10% of the expenses.

$15.45 now. At last this will cover almost all the payment.
LOL not for the majority of outlets on Long Island, though it generally brings it close (and if you go "off-burger" it might. I was responding based on the burger price).
Unfortunately, the client also increased their prices. I was able to get a grilled cheese with the new reimbursement.

Ridiculous what they charge for a small fry and fountain drink. $4.09 for fries and $3.09 for a regular fountain drink in my area. I do like how they prepare their fries and they do give you a ton of them. But what does it matter when you can't eat them all and not something I would bring home to eat the next day. My last visit the total was $14.77 until tax was added; $16.12.
Each store is different, one store close to me charged more than $17 for a little burger, fries and a fountain drink back in 2020. That store closed sometime last year. A different store that I go to regularly has never exceeded the reimbursement price for the same meal. In fact, the last time I was there the prices were still very close to the $12.70 reimbursement. And their business is thriving, the store is always busy, right up until closing time. They aren't short of employees either, so I'm guessing that having reasonable prices brings in enough business to pay a full crew and not have to cut store hours.. amazing concept.

We could have a discussion all day about $12.70 being a reasonable price for a burger, fries and a drink.

I can get a little burger, regular fries and a drink for under the new reimbursement. I would never spend that much for a burger since I believe I can get a sit down meal for a few dollars more and probably do it on a shop.

Yep, increased to $15.45 -- just in time for one of my local stores to increase the little burger, little fries, and regular drink to $15.65.

I can't quibble too much about the 20 cents considering the decent fee I got. But I just don't see how this chain can expect to stay in business for the long-term as people find themselves with less discretionary income due to gas and grocery prices going through the roof.

Ruby Tuesday or Red Robin give you unlimited sides. They say fries on the menu, but you can ask and they will substitute salads at least in my experience. I was too lazy to google which restaurant it was.

Also a free meal for your birthday and on Veterans day if you qualify for joining their frequent flyer club.

Last few times I've been, my location has been almost empty. The food is good but it's just too expensive. Hope my location stays open.

I don't know how they can sustain those prices. At what point will people say enough is enough and go to a competitor?

I did not see the MSC listed in what I had quoted. It just listed a couple of other restaurants, but not if they were shopped or not.
I follow you all about the reimbursement, but can you speak to how the 'Expenses' portion works? Do you report mileage or just tolls and parking?
This shop is not something that I plan on picking up again. The meal ain't that great and the pay is not worth the ~40 question survey (with explanations) plus the time on site. Also, the purchase cost me more than the reimbursement.

It's an overpriced, mediocre place with nothing special going for it as far as I can tell. My survey answers are mostly middle of the road.

That's a question best asked of an accountant or another thread.
However, general rule is you can deduct mileage or maintenance but not both. Once you start deducting miles, you can only deduct miles going forward, not maintenance.

Marketforce needs to up the reimbursement again to keep up. I just did the burger shop and the total for a ‘small’ cheeseburger and ‘small’ fries and ‘small’ drink was $19! I would NEVER go there without an assignment no matter how good it is. But to reimburse almost $4 less than what i pay is unsatisfactory.

Sounds like it's time to up your MAO if the shops near you stay on the board long enough for them to appear.
In my area I can still get a grilled cheese or a hot dog for under the reimbursement but a burger is going to cost me a couple extra bucks. Except for the location in a high-end resort area where the reimbursement won't cover any required purchase.
Well I got my first call from a Georgia based scheduler last week. They wanted me to drive 2 hours round trip to do the burger shop. I got $100 total for it. Apparently they really needed it done. I built a very profitable route around that shop.

Now I am getting Samantha offers and calls offering the same location for $40 total. I think I'll wait until the other places I shopped in the area become available again. They appear to be on monthly rotations, but I would need to do another route.
I've always ordered a hot dog to keep the overage minimal. I visited on Nov. 8th and the price of a hot dog had been raised to match the little burger. 16.37 out the door.
