HS Brands is not paying

I did a contact lenses shop for them in January. As of today, the shop status is “completed”. I’m owed $300 in a shopper fee plus $125 I spent on a required exam. The scheduler has not responded any of my emails. What can I do at this point? Who can I contact?

Try calling them. The phone number is on the email you got from them.
Try emailing Lisa Malkowski. She is their Finance Manager and should be able to get it rectified for you. lisa.malkowski@hsbrands.com

Well I have two shops where it says they paid me on 7/19 but I have not received any payments in Paypal or direct deposit.

After contacting Dan, I received my payment.

I am having the same issue of not being paid for a carpet cleaning shop. They emailed me a month after the shop asking me a question that was already in the report! How do you get in touch with any of these companies, when they are not responding?
I guess I must have gone in sometime in late April or early May and decided I didn't want to be paid. Something else is very wrong.

So even though it says on their main page:

"We want to notify you that in 2022 HS Brands will be utilizing PayPal for all Independent Contractors completing assignments for HS Brands in the U.S.

This transition will be completed as of 12/31/21."

My response as to why I wasn't paid:

So I guess I went into my profile after I got these payments and unchecked the Paypal box.

PAID ON: 02/13/22
PAID ON: 03/24/22
PAID ON: 04/04/22

I didn't get paid for these:

Start: 05/13/22
Start: 05/18/22

And AMAZINGLY PAID ON: 08/01/22. How did that work if I hadn't checked Paypal and they just discovered it the day they paid me. NOPE, didn't get that one either.

Wow. So after being paid regularly via PayPal, HS Brands is claiming that you declined payment in May by “unclicking” the PayPal option on your profile for a month… then REclicking to accept it 30 days later for another group of payments?

Doesn’t pass the smell test with me. For a shopper missing payment from HS Brands, it’s almost impossible to dispute, unless you are in the habit of taking screenshots of your main profile with payment directions. Shady, shady, shady.

I haven’t done any IC work for HS Brands since pre-pandemic. After reading this email, no way would I consider them at this point.

I did a shop for them in June and got paid rather quickly in July. I'm surprised to read this. It was a different client.
I've done 88 shops for them and the last 3 are the only ones I've had trouble getting paid for.

Interestingly enough, my sister who has only done 9 shops for them got paid correctly on 8/1 for a 6/15 shop. This is their normal pay cycle.
All the posts here lead me to believe that they are one of those MSCs "circling the drain", financially. Beware. Just my two cents.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. I only do valet shops for them and they recently raised the shopper pay from $20 to $25 per shop. That's all they have in my area except for a casino 90 miles away which I can never get.
Well I just got notification and checked. I got paid for two of the three shops they owe me for. The last one is for $10 and was supposedly paid on 8/1.
Nope I did a shop July 7. August 7 a notice arrived that payment was in my PayPal account. I just looked and there it is.
The following is my pay experience with this MSC. We began our relationship in June of 2006. During those 16+ yrs. and through 244 jobs, I do not have any recollection of our agreed upon pay being late or short.
I sent Lisa an e-mail on 8/2 I didn't get paid on 8/1 and she responded on 8/30 I would get paid next week. It was only for $10.

Today I check and I was supposed to be paid for two shops at $34 each YESTERDAY. Still nothing in PayPal. I'm sending Lisa and Dan an e-mail stating I'm tired of having to chase payment.

Oh, and I checked my profile, and I do have PayPal checked as my preferred payment method. That was the excuse Lisa gave me last time.
I have never had payment "problems" with them. I do think they are one of the slowest in the business now. Some companies pay 1 week later and HS Brands will take more than 1 month.

But remember, if you do a shop on the first couple days of the month, it seems like it's longer because they don't pay until later in the month after. I did 1 shop for them in 2022. It was beginning of March (1st week) and got paid last week of April. If i had done the shop at the END of March and got paid April 27, then it would not have felt so long.
Well, what I'm complaining about is it states "PAID ON: 08/30/22" but wasn't.

If you are not going to pay me until 9/15, fine, but don't show it as "PAID ON: 08/30/22". Show it as "PAID ON: 09/15/22" and then pay me on 9/15.
So Lisa responded that the two payments showing paid on 8/30 show as paid in their system. She says I should contact PayPal to find out what happened to the payments.

I know there is a lag between when the MSC sends payment to PayPal and PayPal posting it into our accounts. That's how they make their money on the float. I guess I'll wait until tomorrow to see if they show up in my PayPal account.
All my HS Brands payments have posted to my PayPal account as of yesterday. I guess it was a lag with PayPal and not HS Brands fault.
