Satisfaction Services NON-PAYMENT

I completed a shop for Satisfaction Services almost three months ago. I have not been paid, but the report was accepted. I have reached out several times to Mickie (the owner?), who wrote back and said that I would receive a check. This was one month ago. How do I go about getting paid? Has anyone else had this issue?

So you are not satisfied with their services? Sorry I couldn't resist. I haven't done a shop with them in like 10 years. I do not know how they are currently. They weren't a problem back then.
I had that happen once with them. In my case, my address was wrong. You should CALL them directly.
I too am having problems getting paid going back a few months. I have reached out to my scheduler as well as sending an email to Mickie. I was told she had been in the hospital for several months? Even so, they should have someone covering payments.
I have always had issues with them paying. I had a series of shops last year which took ages to finally pay. There was always a flood, a power outage, or the check was in the mail. They finally did pay and a few months later I tried another set of shops. Though they did take longer than I expected they finally did reimburse. So, foolish me against the advice of my partner, I accept another set of shops in June and July. Guess what? It is approaching October and there were hospitalizations, checks in the mail, etc. Lesson finally learned.
Any company still mailing checks should be a red flag. I would watch the few that do closely and not do too much work at any one time for them. The current ones that still mail checks that I know of are Secret Shopper, Sinclair Customer Metrics, and A Closer Look. Seriously folks get with the times.

I don't have a problem with checks. When I receive a check in the mail from one of those MSCs, it usually arrives just a few days after it was sent. My bank offers Mobile Deposit, so all I have to do is take a picture of front and back, and upload it in my bank's app. Boom, done! Deposited, and almost as quickly as getting funds from PayPal.
Why a red flag? What do you have against checks? They can get lost in the mail, but I have not had that happen yet. These days, I take a photo of it with my bank's app and get credit for it the same (sometimes)( or the next day. Why would getting a check be a red flag?

I'll take RQA's recall checks all day long. They are fast, accurate and usually have very appealing numbers on them!
Many years ago I did a few local fine dining restaurant shops. One of our favorites. The report was redundant and looonggg. It would take me hours after rereading, correcting, etc. Never again. We resumed paying ourselves. :-). There was never an issue with nonpayment. Do they still have the little bells that ring on their website?

Checks are just an outdated form of payment is all. RQA as far as I know is not mystery shopping and rather recalls. I don't have a problem with checks and yes, they are easy to remotely deposit. Why a red flag it shows the company is using old, outdated methods. Those who don't change with the times go out of business. A good example is Sears. Had they taken their catalog online they would have beat Amazon to the punch and could have been Amazon. The other problem with checks is they contain your bank account number and bank routing number. Any savvy individual can use that info to empty your bank account. They may be the most dangerous form of payment out there.

Sadly, paper checks are a target for thieves. In my state, we received $750 tax rebate checks; addicts followed behind the mail carriers and stole thousands of them. They are a security risk and outdated technology.
I finally got a response from Mickie. Hopefully this will solve the issue. Email follows:

I hope you are doing well. I apologize for the delay, in August I went to the hospital for a hemorrhage and was in the hospital for weeks. I am out of the hospital recovering and am working to bring everything up to date. Again, I apologize for the delay, to provide context, I have been running the day to day operations solo, as I am still working to rebuild the business back to pre-covid standing. The schedulers and reviewers work remotely and I have been able to manage all other aspects on my own (prior to being hospitalized). Therefore, I had weeks’ worth of work to catch up on, messages/emails to respond to, reconciling evaluator payments with our accounting software and the operating account to confirm which checks have cleared for the payables, communication with clients, catching up on invoicing, receivables, etc. Moving forward I will ensure that the proper measures are put in place to avoid this in the future. I have attached the tracking information for your re-placement payment. Again, I am truly sorry for the delay. SSI’s evaluators are always paid, even when clients have not paid in the past. Thank you very much for working with us, we greatly appreciate the time and effort you put forth when performing our evaluations.
I'm still waiting for a couple payments from this Summer. Several recent emails have gone unanswered. I'm starting to get concerned here. Anyone else having problems receiving payment?

See my messages above. I finally got paid for June but there have been crickets for the July payment. It appears I have been inactivated from their system. Whether the issue is nefarious or incompetence I have learned my lesson.
Chasing payment from Mickie is a common occurrence. Always has some story to tell about this or that. They got me on a very expensive overnight shop once. Said I would never do it again, dummy me, did it again and waited for the $1000 check for two months after it was supposed to be paid. Just got a text from one of the schedulers the other day to do it again. No chance this time even though I really like the shop!
Sadly that's a lie. She has sent me the same form email one time saying she had covid, 1 time that there was no power, and 1 time her daughter was in the hospital with rsvp. I am still waiting months for my November payment..October after many emails calls texts and threats I finally got her to venmo me October.Believe nothing from her!
There are many people and editors that have worked for Mickie at satisfaction services. She is the owner of Satisfaction Services.
I have not been paid since June. She constantly makes excuses. I think at this point we need to make a class action suit against her company. I know she is getting paid by the clients, so money is there.
Also their is a satisfaction services in Texas that has no problem paying its shoppers. that one is not involved with Mickie and her problems.
There are multiple (four, I believe) threads about this same issue. Maybe you could take her to small claims court, but a class action lawsuit would get pennies after legal fees, and you would not be likely to find a lawyer to take the case unless there was a good chance of a huge settlement. Small claims court doesn't mean she will pay even if you get a judgment against her.

I agree that the legal curse of action with the best chance of success is small claims court. You can represent yourself. If she doesn't appear, then you will probably get a default judgment. Then the fun will begin since you will have to try to collect. Class Action suits generally enrich the attorneys, not the "little people".

I'm almost sure the I.C. contract probably have an arbitration clause.

A Dad shopping the Ark-LA-Tex and beyond.
And in order to get paid you have to have funds. If there's a bankruptcy filing, you'll never get a dime.
Have you tried contacting Mike Albert instead of Mickie? Or filing a BBB complaint? (Do that only if you are never planning to work for them again). You can try filing a Small Claims case. It will cost you $15-$20 depending on how much they owe you. If there is an Arbitration Clause in the IC Agreement, Small Claims might not hear it, but in some states they will. Its an inexpensive way to try, anyway.

Good luck. I hope you can get this resolved and get your money due.

You can, however, it looks like she doesn't have the money so if she hasn't already it's probably coming.
Have you tried contacting Mickie's personal numbers? (Not the company number) Or you could try contacting the other managing partner, Jon Kasman.
Mickie has not paid any one who has done her shops since last June. She will tell you a sob story, which is false. If we ban together and don't work for her maybe she will get the hint. I have written her and told her that I may file a class action suit against her company.
